Do you ever have 2nd thoughts about your wedding gown?

I can relate here! May ganito palang thread dito. I bought RTW gown din. Sometimes I feel like my gown is very simple, although simple lang naman talaga ang gusto ko. Nasunod naman yung mga pegs ko, kaso wala syang train. And now gusto ko na sya palagyan ng train or babawi nalang sa veil. Medyo torn pa ko sa bagay na to. Mahalaga may gown na ko.

A piece of thought here, of course, all of us wanted to look as the most beautiful bride ever and one of our medium is our wedding gown. Sometimes we tend to follow the trends, when we see new designs, we think that our first preference is too ugly or outdated. Then sometimes we overthink of what our guest will say about our gown, etcetera, etcetera. I realised, the most important thing here is learn how to be contented of what you have and what you want, number one factor is you should be comfortable of what you wear. Sabi nga nila, "Nasa nagdadala yan". Kesa naman bonggang bongga nga yung gown mo pero hirap na hirap ka namang dalhin, ganun din, kita rin ng mga tao sa paligid mo na nahihirapan ka so hindi pa rin maganda tignan.

I can also relate here! Also bought an RTW gown kasi nakakita kami ng maganda. Kung wala akong makitang RTW na gusto ko, magpapatahi ako. Kasama ko friends ko nung naghahanap ako ng RTW, kailangan ko sila kasi kailangan ko ng someone na magsasabi na "oo maganda yan, eto dapat, ganito dapat" haha kasi hirap talaga ako magdecide. I need assurances from other people na tama yung pinili ko tee hee!.

Nagustuhan ko yung gown kasi full lace siya (but not the expensive kind, corded lace daw tawag dun) na nakapatong dun sa gown mismo. So hindi siya appliques lang. Gusto ko kasi dainty lang tingnan. Rosa Clara ang peg ganyan hehe. May train siya pero hindi ganun kahaba, ok lang rin naman sakin kasi sa veil ko nalang idadaan, ang mahalaga may train pa rin. Then A-line siya, pero very slim lang. Akala ko nga sheath siya eh, pero sabi A-line daw. Sabi ng friends ko ganung skirt daw talaga navivisualize nila sakin nung naghahanap-hanap kami and pag nagpapadrawing kami. Ang dami ko kasing fina-follow na couturiers sa IG, and nakikita ko parang palaging malaki yung gown so yun din yung iniisip ko.

Maganda siya in person kasi nga parang ang dainty and delicate nung lace. Pero pag sa picture syempre hindi mo masyado mapapansin unless siguro izu-zoom mo. Kaya iniisip ko kung papalagyan ko ng sequins para medyo mag-shine ako. Pero ang iniisip ko naman paano kung pangit tingnan, pwede ko kaya patanggal ulit hehe.

So yun, pero tuwing iniisip ko, nung araw na yun, oo gustong gusto ko yung gown na yun. Tanda ko pa nga ilang beses ko sinabi na "ang ganda, gusto ko yung ganitong lace lang talaga, yung hindi magulo". Siguro pag sinukat ko ulit, dun ko ulit ma-aappreciate.

Siguro ang dapat din, wag na tayo magtingin ng ibang gowns! hahaha! Pero mahirap din naman yun haha! Pero yun nga, hindi naman kasi natin kailangan sumunod sa uso, na porquet sobrang detailed na gown ang uso eh dapat ganun din tayo. Kasi marami din nagsasabi na pag lesser details and lesser busy, mas mukhang mamahalin haha! Dba nga so Rosa Clara or si Vera Wang hindi naman sobrang busy ng mga gowns nila. So yun nalang iniisip ko hehe. Siguro isipin natin ano yung unang na-feel natin nung suot natin yun

Lesser details more expensive. Ay bet ko yun. Oo nga naman. Unless ako si Marian Rivera na yung details ng gown ko e talagang mamahaling mga beads and swarovski. At kaya kong magbayad ng 2M ba gown. Haha. Eh alam naman ng lahat na hindi. So dahil di ako ganun kayaman, less details, simple yung gown but not cheap quality.

Ayan medyo nakakampante na ulit ako sa gown ko. Haha.

Had the same feeling with the article after buying an RTW gown and ended up selling it.

And when sold it was the savior for the bride because her church gown was horrible! It was meant to be then.

Waiting for my new wedding gown now. Super excited to see and fit it!

I had second thoughts when I was sent the embroidery and lace samples to choose from. I chose one which i wasnt too sure of. Anyway in my 2nd fitting some of the lace was already attached and it looked better than I imagined. 

So now I will see on my next fitting more kn how the overall look of the gown as more lace is applied and the pattern of the appliques starts emerging. I am really more concerned about the pattern of the embroidery applique more than the actual beadwork since I am not too into beadwork. For me, materials esp lace and embroidery and the pattern comes first before intricacy of beadwork.  Kahit saan naman even Divi you will find gowns with tons of beads, but what makes a gown stand out are the materials and the fit and quality.

Oo nga naman, the quality of the material is very important than the beadwork. Sobrang konti lang ng beadworks ng gown ko. Sa taas lang talaga. Yung buong baba ng gown ko, ball gown pa naman is just plain organza.

So far yung gown naman na nakuha is good quality yung tela. Yun din yung nagustuhan ko kasi nakita ko din yung difference nya compare sa nafit ko sa divi. Pero sa photos kasi, yung haba, yung details and yung wow factor pag super lace and rffles ang gown ang nagmamatter. Sa mga visitors kasi (which i assumed), keber nila ang quality kasi whats superficially they saw, yun ang nagpapawow sila. So ayun. Pero si boyfriend, he keeps on telling me na maganda daw talaga yung gown, far different sa ibang nakita namin. so ang ginagawa ko ngayon, im settling my mind that my gown is beautiful regardless if hindi sya mahaba. Mind is powerful, so iisipin ko na lang na its the most beautiful one. 😁😁😁

Hi mga sis just want to ask for your thoughts about this matter and here is the situation:
At first my initial budget for my wedding gown is 100xxx but the designer that i really want is mukhang mag exceed ako sa initial budget ko. Meron ba sa inyo na nag exceed sa initial budget ng wedding gown nyo? I feel guilty because i know it is too expensive but minsan naiisip ko isang beses lang naman ako ikakasal sa lalaking mahal ko (naks!) and i want to wear my dream gown and memories matter. My fiance tells me na ok lang to exceed but i dont know if it's too expensive e. So my question is how much ang amount ng pinaka exceed nyo sa gown from your initial budget? Thanks!

I'm having trouble with my design also! At first I wanted a detachable skirt, a big one for the ceremony, with a slinky one underneath with a slit. But my designer vetoed the idea coz it has a tendency to make the brides waist look big daw. Designer suggested an overskirt instead. However, when I was looking at overskirt pegs online though, my fiancée saw and said "para ka naman superhero niyan" and my heart fell.  Turns out all this time he had a picture in his head on how I'd look walking down the aisle, and it was more of a ball gown type thing.

Anyway, now I don't know na talaga. I know ultimately it's what I want that will be followed. But I'm not really sure what I want ☹ I think my designer has made around 4 sketches already, and I still haven't finalized. Buti nalang he's a family friend or else I feel like he'd be so pikon already at my indecisiveness.

Ppreetylove: in my case I went below what I initially budgeted for my wedding gown. But then I went over sa entourage gowns, and flowers. I guess it depends rin on your priorities and what matters to you most. Although honestly parang mas sulit ata yung nag over budget sa gown rather than sa flowers hehe.

One thing about the wedding gown kasi is yes, you only wear it once for maybe 12 hours. But then, ALL your hundreds and hundreds of pictures will be of you in that gown! Also, going over budget on the gown also makes a bigger difference than going over on HMUA or bridal shoes!! =)

Sis prettylove, I exceeded on my initial budget. About how much I exceeded, it depends on the materiality na. I exceeded twice the budget but only because its too low. My gown is still far from your initial 100k budget.

Mine is i got from mitch desunia apparel. excited and kinakabahan na din paguwi ko what may gown looks like. 😊 But then again, im keeping in mind na it will be beautiful. Mind power na lang. 😁

Pero i'm happy kasi fiance is very cooperative and supportive naman sa pegs ko.. Naisip ko kasi minsan lang to kaya push na lang ang dream wedding!! hehe! Thanks you girls so much!

@ prettylove: Ako din overbudget sa gown. Before kasi I was thinking I don't want a gown that would be over 100k so I was looking at suppliers na 60-85k. But then nagugustuhan ko talaga mga gawa ni cecilio abad and was convinced by my mom na pwede naman magpadrawing lang para makita kung kamusta naman. When we went there, there was a bride doing a second fitting and even if it wasn't yet finished I was already awed by her gown. And I really loved the one cecilio drew for me. So much that I was willing now to go way over my intended budget. Just had to get the approval of my fiance and in-laws (they're paying for everything kasi)

^ same tayo sis, kapag nakikita ko gawa nila (dalawa kasi sila na dream couturier ko) sa ig omg talaga i can't help na maimagine sarili ko wearing one of their gowns... hehe... Hopefully maconvince ko sarili ko na okay lang yan, naguguilty din kasi ako dahil lahat ng gastos namin kay fiance lang without the help of my parents and in-laws kaya if i were you at may tutulong naman, push na yan ☺️😊☺️

May I asked if your designer advised you to buy shoes before your first fitting like the base of the gown? Or is it okay if you'll have it on your 2nd fitting? I have almost 5-6fittings.

I just checked Mitch desunia sa FB and her recent collection are gold colored gown? Ang gaganda ng gawa nya sis. I bet maganda nga yung gown mo! The details of the gowns, ang ganda! though pansin ko nga walang mga train.

^msdianne actually most of the designers i think advised to bring their bridal shoes sa first fitting na kasi to make sure na tama ang haba ng gown mo and comfortable ka with the shoes that you're going to wear kapag nakasuot na ang gown mo. What i did is binili ko na ang shoes na gagamitin ko so i will just tell my couturier the precise height of my heels kapag sinukatan na ako then every fitting ko dadalhin ko na lang, mas mabuti ng sigurado hehe. But if you're still undecided What shoes you want then better tell your couturier na habaan na lang lang 3-4inches para mas mabilis putulan kesa sa bitin  tignan. I have a friend also na once lang nya dinala ang shoes nya sa lahat ng fittings nya tapos the day of her wedding sobrang haba naman ng gown so todo sipa sya sa gown nya and you can see it clearly sa video, hindi lang maganda tignan. So better to be safe than sorry at sa huli magsisi

Yes sis. Maganda sya actually, obvious na pinaghipan every detail pero hindi mahaba. Hahaha. Pwede naman magpaadd ng train kaso i doubt pano nila iaadd yun.

Yes! Nung umuwi last february ngscout na ako ng gown. Sinulit ko talaga uwi ko. Hehe. Goodluck to our gown sis! 😊 Basta, sabi nga nila, we have our own glow sa kasal. So siguro, whatever man yung suot natin, it will glow unexpectedly. Positive vibes. 😊😊😊

I am now having second thoughts with my design. Full lace with minimal embroidery or clean look (very minimal lace on top and just flowy skirt) ? Initially I approved the full lace design as I sometimes find the clean look too simple. However, I cant help but notice that a lot of gowns are clean looking these days. Very minimal lace and embroidery and with some, nothing at all! They just rely on the cut and fit of the dress. Even entourage dresses are shifting away from ruching.  I must say though, may figure din siya na binabagayan. What do you think girls? Too simple ba?
