I watched One More Chance - iba sya from A Second Chance talaga kaya I can't compare. Maturity levels - One More Chance was more 'kilig', mas bagets. A Second Chance was so real- the 'ugly' side of marriage magnified ganyan. It wasn't anything wishy-washy, hindi sya pakilig, hindi sya pagpapanggap na ang marriage ay 'perfect ending'. It wasn't even about 'forever'. No no no. It was real - the secrets kept, the 'insecurities', the losing yourself, the not knowing how we move forward with this - May mga nabasa ko na bakit hindi daw sila magusap ng maayos, magpacounselling, etc. Hmmm, they talked naman. Pero di naman lahat naayos sa usap lang tapos ok na? Nah. At the end of the day, you're two different persons pa din. Two different persons struggling to be one. Not easy. Not resolved overnight. Not even in a few years. Realidad lang. E kung nagusap sila tapos ok na din agad? Mas walang kwenta siguro. Di ako makakarelate, kasi sa totoong buhay, di naman ganun nangyayari. Yung pagawayan nyo ngayon, kahit pagusapan, two weeks later, one month later, puedeng maulit. But you work to keep on moving forward as one. You trip and stumble along the way. You lose yourself along the way. Mga ganyan. But the point is, love kept them together. Kept them moving forward together.
Even dun sa part na they were being interviewed, they were not ok, and then the next talk, ok na ulit sila. It happens eh. Ups, downs, suuper down. Even JLC's portrayal of a 'weak man' was so on point. These guys, ang front nila is ok ako, strong ako, kaya ko to - I'm on top of this - pero deep inside pagod na pagod na sila. They're crumbling to pieces. They feel helpless. And then wifey takes over, and they crumble even more. Men naturally feel like sila dapat ang 'tagapagligtas', pero the truth is, they need saving sometimes too.
Women naman, when they're on alpha woman mode, naku go go go yan. Minsan nakakalimutan na ay, may asawa pala ko. Asikasuhin ko pa din dapat pala ito (errr mahirap oo, pero totoo di ba?).
