can't find a thread specifically dedicated to watches in general, the latest watch trends, the best and the worst watch brands, and a discussion among all watch enthusiasts here. so here you go.

basically, this is for all things watches and watch related stuff.

so what's the best watch out there? are you a watch addict? how many pieces do you own? post away!

I've been a watch enthusiast since I was very young.  I remember being in elementary school wearing a lot of Casio digital watches.there was even one that took your pulse rate which was hi tech back then.  Up to early high school, I wore Swatch watches then latter part of high school through college and early med school I wore 3 different Tag Heuer watches.  To this day I have two of the Tag Heuers sitting in my watch.  I would say they held up quite well though ones clasp is broken (but still wearable) and the other one is a little too snug to wear.  Internship through residency I mostly wore my Omega Constellation along with my Tag Heuer watches.  Up until this point all my watches were gifts from my parents. 
After residency:  At some point I added a Philip Stein watch. 
My collection grew a lot this past couple of years:  mostly Swiss automatic and added a German watch which sadly is now probably on its way back to Germany (broken mainspring ), Japanese digitals. I also was able to find a birth year watch and add it to my collection.  Right now I've been bitten by the digital bug and just bought my first G shock.  I also have a smartwatch in my collection.  Overall the watches I have I hold on to and not flip, most of them represent milestones in my life.  I have watches in my collection that are > 15 years old, still looks and works great.

I've tried several times to pass my watches on to my daughter (she's in high school) but she's not interested at all and does not even wear a watch.  She says she doesn't need one because her cellphone can tell the time.

me naman, i started paying careful attention to watches recently lang. before i don't care sa quality or what basta kahit ano lang. when i turned 30, i realized that having a quality watch is worth it, investment piece plus it's nice to look at sa watch box pag madami, hihi.

as of now my collection is pretty small and "average". i have 8 watches and i plan to build it little by little. i have a couple of casios, 2 gshocks, 3 mk watches, and kenneth cole. i'm eyeing a technomarine chrono cruise soon or a philip stein next. hopefully before the year ends. nasa wishlist ko din na sana may mag gift saken ng watch this christmas. hehe. but when i pass the bar, i'll work on the higher end watches na.

I love your collection, especially the Nomos - seen pics of this limited ed and it's such a beauty! Which one is the birth year watch?

They say you'll only really need 3 on rotation, and it seems to be true in my case. Here's what I have so far - some of these I don't get to wear these days, but they have sentimental value, so I'm keeping them in the box:

I am so not brand-conscious when it comes to watch, for me basta matibay okay na. So far I only have Philip Stein, Technomarine, Swatch, Skagen. Pero ang the best sa akin is yung Mickey Mouse watch ko that I got from amazon for $20  Ang tibay nya, nasira na yung iba kong branded (like natanggal yung hands, or laging ubos battery) pero buhay pa sya.

For fashion watches perhaps.  It would be saying something like the "mechanism" of a Philip Stein is the same as that of an El Primero.

bought my second Citizen Ecodrive watch.  this time yung all black naman.  matagal ko pinag pantasyahan yun before finally buying it.  inantay ko mag 3 day sale sa SM.  i got 15% off from Citizen mismo then 10% off dahil first two hours ng sale binili and another 10% off (rebate) kasi used my BDO credit card.  wagas kung maka abang ng sale ano

i love watches.. i cant go out of the house without wearing one.. sabi ko sa asawa ko mas gusto ko eto investment kesa sa shoes or bags nya.. i have a son and i will soon have a daughter.. sarap sana eto na hand me down gifts.. =)
