The Yaya Thread

Hi, sissies! How to decline guests asking if they could bring their child/children's yaya? Not single parents ah. Like couple friends with a kid. TIA!

We're allowing this only for relatives... kasi meron talagang daming anak like 3 kids hindi rin nila kaya pag wala. Di rin sila mag eenjoy and di makakakain ng maayos (isip ko, sayang steak! haha).
We didnt include the yayas sa seat count ng invite nila pero magsasabi yan.
All other guests di pwede, sabihin mo full na seats :)

I agree with sparklingjewel, we're allowing yayas only for relatives. What will you be feeding them though sis? Supplier meals?

Sa amin sis magproprovide kami seats for the kids, para sa mga relatives ko lang to.

^^^ close relatives of course. Pero medyo naiirita lang ako binibilang pa ng fiancé ko yung yaya ng couple friend niya na 1 lang anak. Binilang ko kasi yung yaya ng nephew ko.

^^ same question with barbeecue :)

^ We'll sit the kids together with their parents coz pag may kids' table baka akalain ng parent friends pwede magdala ng yaya. We'll just provide the caterer with a seat plan kung saan yung kids nakaupo & other guests with dietary restrictions.

relatives din halos namin yung may mga kids iniisip ko kasi sayang yung seat instead sa ibang adult sana mapunta.... sample may relative kami apat anak nila yung dalawa is around college and highschool yung dalawa naman mga 5-7yrs old yung range... so for them 6 pax na agad sila which is yung dalawa dun 2 kids lang medyo nanghihinayang lang ako hehe

I requested for kids table and meals for my Kiddie guests bet the age of 5-10, i booked for 9 but on the day, i think we had around 13 and some are even younger than 5! (pasaway guests). But everyone ended up sitting beside their parents. This is a very tricky set up kase most kids talaga won't stay in their allocated seats. They'd "probably" stay if they have at least a responsible adult (yaya) or maybe request for additional coordinator who can look after them if you dont want to invite yayas.  But still, walang assurance.

To other sissies:
If you are thinking about yaya meals (sounds very balesin) maybe request for plated meals from caterers and ask them to dress up, wag naka scrub suit or yaya attire.

We will sit kids with their parents and yayas. No kids table na kasi if below 10 yrs old mahirap pilitin ilayo sa ibang table kahit pa may yaya. Fiance and i havent discussed what to serve the yayas. I might request plated meals, hindi pwedeng same sa crew meals kasi usually crew meals come packed (and ang pangit naman the yaya eats in the same table as other guests pero packed meal kanya tas todo steak at salmon yung mga katabi nya). Siguro the plated meal around 3-4 courses lang vs. the usual 7-8.

^since your caterer is k by c, your crew meals will be served in plates, not in disposable plastic containers. so maybe, ganun din for the yayas if you decided to get the meals from them.

that's proven. even our son sat beside my parents during the program. so better na rin talaga to keep the kids close to their loved ones, like what we do with the VIPs.

Thanks belle_v2g, will probably go that route for the 'yaya meals' (sorry for the term)-- KbyC crew meals na plated nalang for them.

Most of our suppliers are requesting packed meals though rather than plated, so will have to see if KbyC can serve some packed ones too. They dont know daw kasi when they're going to eat and if plated, it might get cold fast with the Dec weather. If not, i'll order them from my venue :)

Haha natawa ako dun sa "yaya meal". Hope our caterer could accomodate that request din. Pero parang odd lang to see prolly the lone yaya having a different meal. (If my quest on declining fiancé's friends to bring their yaya for their son will be a success.)

^Concerned din ako dyan sis kaya gawin namin plated din para at least looks similar but less courses vs. a guest because it's too darn expensive to spend 2k to feed each yaya plus i dont think they'll finish it bec based on experience they dont even appreciate the same kind of food as much.. sayang. Sabi ng fiance ko sa house nila the maids dont eat tenderloin he cooks.. Di sila nasasarapan. So i might ask K din for suggestions -- siguro 1 soup, chicken/pork then dessert. :)

Onga nh. Maybe same soup & dessert. Then I'll ask the caterer to plate the crew meal for her. Kasi sa venue clause only food from their caterer will be allowed so maybe sila din for crew meals. Or pwede kaya same siya food with the kids? Which will definitely have rice.

I have a strictly Adult only wedding. And so far 5 ANGELS and 2 nurses for my fiancé's Amma (lola). But we consider them as guests narin :s I know mabigat pero ganun talaga.

Yes KbyC crew meal is plated daw with 2 courses and 2 rice. I have 6 kids din for my entourage and got their children's meal for 10pax so I'm sure the ANGELS are going to eat them too.

no kids table for us. according to my coordinator, kids always end up sitting with their parents anyway. so kasama ang kids sa seating chart except for babies of course.  good thing kids below 7 years old are free sa caterer namin. between 7 to 12 years old we still haven't decided if we'll give them kids meal or the half price buffet.

we're hoping our relatives wouldn't have to bring a yaya for their kids. if they can't handle their kids without a yaya, then don't bring them na lang di ba? but just in case, ill have the yaya seated on a separate table and serve them the same plated crew meals from our caterer. same goes with the drivers. awkward din kasi if on the same table, some have plated meals while others are enjoying food from the buffet.

^ well if they have more than 1 kid pwede pa. But if 1 lang then 2 sila (parents) na andyan & wala silang role.. Parang hello.. Would it kill you to parent your child for 3 hours? I've baby sat nephews & nieces of all ages for a longer time. Ugh.. I forgot pa pala those relatives who brings their driver in with them.. Lately naman 1 nalang yung ganyan samin.. Might as well have extra crew meals for them nalang nh? We'll order naman din talaga for ours.

Just an update: successful with reiterating to fiancé na 1 yaya (my nephew's) lang. Said something like "Ano kayang kakainin ng yaya ni ____ kasi ISA lang naman siyang yaya duon?" So sana talaga hindi magsama ng yaya yung friends niya. Ugh.

^This is so true, yung drivers din ng guests/ relatives kailangan magallocate ka extra crew meals. I think i set aside for at least 20 or 30 drivers. To avoid nadin na makihalo sila sa buffet to get food or their amo asks the caterer or worse, sits them down sa table too.

Ugh.. Ok lang nga sana if buffet.. Kaso sit down din kami & I'm very OC with the seat plan. I'm 10 mos. Away & I'm making it na coz ilalagay sana namin with the invite. Kaya I'm very stern with the no other yayas thing.

^Wow that's interesting. But how do you do a seatplan without the RSVP? I'm curious.. like kasi if someone wont make it gagalaw agad yung seats diba? That's why most couples really finish the seatplan like the week of the wedding na based on the RSVPs.

I'm also sitdown.. wont include the yaya and drivers in the seat plan. But i'll just get someone to communicate na i have separate yaya and driver food and tables where they can eat it (prolly sa indoor part ng venue ko, which is actually pretty classy still since it's wooden cabin style). This is also where im going to have my suppliers eat.
