How much is your wedding budget? Part 7

True, may times din na urong sulong kami kaya dahan-dahan sa announcement, 3 mos before the wedding kami at least mag post ng e-invite sa FB and yung hard copies ng invites sa PS lang. Madami nga unexpected events here and there, pero I'm glad tuloy pa din tayong dalawa. 

Initial budget is 500k, ok so a little background, I'm the type na magsplurge sa 1 Supplier na sa tingin ko eh well deserved tapos mag scrimp ng todo sa 1 Supplier na sa tingin ok lang tipirin. Example I got Mariah Santos sa HMUA and mag infinity dress ako for ento, parehong quality and classy pero malayong malayo budgetwise.  We added 200k more, para 700 na give or take, with all the add ons and gastos, at Im glad di na kami mag exceed, in fact andami ko last minute naisamang "luho" because as time goes by, mas nagiging realistic ang list at mas lumalabas ang real figures ng Suppliers, kesa noon na rough estimates palang, at mostly sinobrahan ko.

We came to a conclusion na ipostpone honeymoon (Maldives) and we decided mag "minimoon" sa Siargao instead, same idea, private villa na beachfront.  So ngayon, di ko na alam kung mag Maldives pa kami or Europe na, probably 3 mos or more after the wedding.

In terms of budget, do you set aside a certain percentage of your savings for the wedding? if yes, what percentage?

Or are you one of those who have started setting aside "wedding savings" from way back even before being on a relationship?

^Sis oshiawase me and h2b are saving up for the wedding in real time. We're saving money from our salary at the same time we book suppliers. We set aside 30% of our salary for our wedding fund.

Sis oshiawase... wala ako savings nung kinasal kame ni hubby. Sya naman gumastos sa lahat nung wedding namen pati ng gown at shoes ko at ng gown ng mom ko. Tapos pinagquit nya pa ko sa job ko kaya talagang wala akong savings nun. Pero sya, he really saved up for our wedding nung nagpropose sya. Ako sa planning and booking ng suppliers naman. Umabot kame ng more than 400k pala. Pero less than 450k which is okay na din

H2B and I "WILL NOW" save for our wedding budget/ expenses. I am kinda stressed kasi ngayon palang kami magsstart mag-ipon. What we plan to do is to save %age of our salary from this month (January) to August. Oo, August na! huhuhu. Eh diba kailangan na namin ng money before the wedding, of course, for DP, etc. Mejo gusto ko na nga ipamove yung wedding dahil kako baka magkulang sa budget tapos tipidin yung kasal namin to the point na cheap na tignan huhuhu. 

Pero si H2B kampante naman since siya/ family naman nya ang gagastos DAW. ewan ko ba, it just didnt feel right, for me lang ah. baka kasi di ako makapaginarte ng bongga kung pera nila lahat ang gagastusin. hahaha. though my mom already offered help. Haaays.

We have our own savings before. Then after engagement, we contributed to our wedding fund and started to put 50% of our salary to it. We will  be paying for all our wedding expenses. Di namin iniinvolve ang parents para wala silang say sa mga stuff. hehe They said naman that they will just give cash gift on our wedding day.

^Sis I get what you mean. I know a bride to be who couldn't decide on details of her wedding because the groom's family is paying for everything. Hopefully that won't be the case for you and h2b. YOu can talk to him sis if you aren't comfortable na ishoshoulder niya at family niya yung gastos. If you want, maybe you can just pay for your gown, shoes and your family's attire para at least makuwa mo yung gusto mong style.

If your H2B's family is paying, best to have a fixed budget. Ask them for the amount that they are willing to provide.

That way you know how much you are supposed to spend. If anything goes over that, you can add na lang yourself. Minsan kasi you want to splurge on something pero mahirap spending other people's money.

para sakin ba ito sis? hehe. i have the same concern sa bride na kilala mo. and yes, iniisip ko din na sa attire ishshoulder ko/namin ni h2b ang gastos para yung pick ko naman ang masunod. meron naman savings si h2b, pero open din sya na iaccept any cash from his side. inooffer din kasi nila. sa side ko naman, since mom nalang ang meron ako, cash gift din daw.

I agree to most of you here, though budget is the main factor in a wedding you should not let all your money go down the drain.  Pero hindi ko ata naapply yun sa sarili ko, since we invested all  our savings in our wedding already. I must admit, its not the real plan, but I want my wedding to be just as how I imagined it to be.

But I'm thinking naman na after the wedding, we can still save and pay for our bills and other expenses since hindi rin kami mautang, we use our credit cards when needed lang and not to splurge . We limit our shopping & leisure for more than a year for this wedding, and we want it to be special. So no matter how you use your money, its okay because its yours. And as long as you work hard after the wedding to make up for all the expenses.

kami ni h2b may savings na even before engagement but that's for our future house. pero baka magamit rin ang portion kung sakaling magkulang ang budget.  after engagement, I am setting aside 30% of my salary for the wedding budget which is 50-50 kami kasi parehas naman kaming okay ang work. si h2b naman all his bonuses will go to the wedding kasi we are also investing in micro-businesses for our future expenses.

^ sis napatingin tuloy ako sa excel sheet ko to check how much pa yung kelangan naming bayaran before December.. napa inhale exhale tuloy ako. 

I'm now rethinking some of the minor stuff on my list. parang mas gusto ko mag re-allot ng funds sa ibang bagay nalang or liitan yung budget sa ibang items  Kaya naman, kaya lang pag sabay sabay na pala labas ng money parang nakakapang hinayang din lalo na pag "arte" items lang yung pagkakagastusan. tee hee!

Minsan ang nakakasira ng budget yung small things. Kasi maliit lang sila individually pero when they add up, malaki din.

The other day we were looking at Christmas sales and wala talaga ako intentiom to buy anything for the wedding. Pero I found Vera Wang Wedgewood champagne flutes, cake knife and server set and a trinket box which we will use for the arras that was 80% off. I ended up buying them... medyo justified kasi I know we will use them after the wedding din. I kind of regret nga not buying the matching photo frame.

sis pretty_B yes sis, reply ko sayo. hehe.. Don't worry sis since my pera naman si hubby and you can talk to him nalang regarding the details that you want. Hindi naman maiwasan minsan na magsplurge ka sa ibang aspects ng wedding.

sis kaitlynmischa same tayo sis. I just wanna go all out sa wedding, buy by all out I mean kung ano pa din yung afford namin. We've been saving for our wedding for more than a year na because we really want our wedding to be what we imagined it to be. All bonuses din go to our wedding budget.

I'm really lucky na food/catering in our province is way way way cheaper in the province kaya we were able to splurge on other things.

Sis LilaFowler mukhang malaking chunk ng budget nyo pala ang mapupunta sa shipping ng mga wedding stuff nyo noh. especially some you bought from AU na din right?

^ Di naman. I have relatives that fly back and forth between Sydney and Manila regularly. They carry all the stuff so far in their luggage. My aunt so far has taken 20 bottles of wine to Manila for us.

Our big additional gastos are flights. Yesterday we paid almost P70k of airfare for our family. I'm so thankful that somehow the finances all work out in some way talaga.

^ Sis depends on the type of reception you want to have. would you like a catering + venue type or naka exclusive function room in a restaurant? kasi the catering plus venue I think madami ka naman options. not sure though if they will accommodate such headcount kasi sa mga nakita ko previously, mga nasa 80 pax minimum nila.

for the restaurants naman with private function, I believe best bet mo dyan are the Chinese restaurants na di naman gaano expensive like Kowloon west ave, Shangri-La restaurant also in west ave. or buffet restaurants like Vikings pwede din siguro or Guevarras by chef laudico.

I agree that the minor details can cause much din when you add them up.
We're finalizing our minor suppliers and below are the things that we added which are previously not included while we were budgeting:
1. Acrylic platform stage
2. Frame-up Display Rentals
3. LED balloons
4. Upgraded Photobooth
5. Van drivers for the transport services that we will provide for the guests

I'm hoping this will be our final wave of expenses. 40 days to go!

Hi SIs, yeah i remember we're on the same page. Real time ipon! Yup me too sis, we are going to spend what we can afford lang. I'm glad we are slowly getting there.
