Stopover/Layover in Asia

Hi Sisses!
Just want to ask if it is possible to have an extended stay at Hongkong or Singapore for 3-4 days from a stopover/Layover flight from US. I will be going back to the Philippines from US and would like to squeeze in a trip to Hong Kong or Singapore for 3-4 days, if possible. Do I have to pay any fees? Can I take my luggage to the hotel?
Anyone who has tried this?

Yes you can. I stayed in both countries for 3-4 days inbetween going to Manila and Japan. You can take out your luggage to the hotel. No fees to pay at the airport. Simple and quick.

Sa check-in lang with the airlines they will sometimes ask for all your itineraries, as a proof that you are going back to your country of origin or the one in your passport. Hindi rin consistent so to be sure dalhin mo na rin.

^I always book my flights online. Kahit iba't iba airlines pwede. Pag tinanong nila itineraries ko I just show them; they're all downloaded sa smartphone ko.

Side note: Big issue with PAL and Jetstar Singapore if another person paid for your tickets. Sa PAL gusto nila letter and copy of the card used; Jetstar naman pag SG flights baka hindi ka pasakayin pag hindi mo kasama ang nagbayad ng ticket. Cebu Pac okay pa so far when it comes to 3rd party payments.

If you'll be taking CX, you can have a layover in HKG (max 7 days) without any extra fees. That's what my sister and brother-in-law did last May. They were coming in from LAX then we met them in HKG. We stayed for 3 days. They had to take their baggage with them since their layover was more than 24 hours. But there are storage counters (with a fee) at the arrival area just in case you want to leave your bags.
