Hindi ko naman binasa but whenever I see him and his dad perform on TV and in that commercial for TFC, I switch channels.

My 2 cents.

Agree with his statement. Parang same case siguro yan sa regular na opisina. Pumapasok ka, nagta-trabaho ka ng todo todo, OT and all para umangat ang career mo, madagdagan ang sweldo mo, etc. Pero posibleng ndi ka pansinin ng boss mo, kulang sa recognition at ibang tao pa ang nap-promote. So ikaw, either tiisin mo or umalis ka na lang at lumipat sa ibang kumpanya na posibleng ma-recognize ka for your talents.

Honestly I kind of agree with him.  Grabe din naman kasi yung mga bashing/negative posts/news about him before.  Show business is a shallow world that's a given pero iba rin naman kasi yung level dito sa atin.  Whether we admit it or not, we give more importance to the outward appearance rather than the talent.  Kahit na wala masyadong talent basta tisoy or tisay may career agad or kapag may "connections".  It's only here in the Philippines where you will find celebrity "reporters" who also double as managers...complete conflict of interests!  Plus he was constantly compared to his father.  That he was no better or just copying his dad.  If you genuinely love the craft, these comments will really nick you and tear you down eventually.

Agree din regarding his point about the mentality here na kapag napansin na sa ibang bansa biglang sisikat or papansinin na rin dito.  Colonial mentality at its best talaga.

Okay naman ang sinabi niya but coming from him? Sourgraping at its finest from a spoiled, rich, entitled, narcissistic brat who benefitted from the system. Kung iba ang nagsabi like his ex Rachel Ann Go, baka pinalakpakan ko pa maski konti.

He is a good dancer na walang charisma. Naipasok na siya sa ASAP due to connections pero wala lang talaga siyang hatak sa tao. His talent as a dancer is not exceptional, marami pang mas magaling magsayaw sa kanya from the dance contests ng noontime shows.

Look at Sarah Geronimo. She is not the best singer pero lakas ng charisma. Galing sa wala pero masipag and malakas tiwala sa sarili. Sikat na sikat na pero she still works hard.

I will compare him to Rayver Cruz who is a bit like him. Only difference between the two is Rayver has realistic expectations about his career in showbiz.

totoo naman eh, hindi komot may talent ka eh sisikat ka na automatically. Need mo din ng charisma sa tao, at right opportunity.

Madaling sumikat sa Pilipinas.. pero ang longevity ng kasikatan mo? Yun ang mahirap i maintain.

So dapat may talent ka, looks at charisma at magandang ugali para tumagal ka sa showbusiness.

Example dito si Alden Richards, sumikat siya sa tamang panahon

Feeling ko applicable naman yung mga sinabi niya across all nations. Specific lang sa atin yung maputi but may "maputi" equivalent din sa ibang bansa. If you want fame then having a good talent/artistic expression is not the way to go. Maybe just join an artistic club or something. Kaya nga may mga kim kardashian, kendal jenner, paris hilton, cara delevigne ngayon di ba.

Binasa ko yung post pero after di ko pa din magets kung anong point nya.  Or gusto nya lang mag-rant talaga? 

Simple lang yan:  hindi sha sumikat dito because there was no demand for his talents - kung ano man ang talent nya, dancing ba - and whatever talent he has, tama yung isang sis, was not that exceptional.  Si Gary V. hindi naman super duper galing sumayaw at kumanta, pero sumikat kasi may X factor AT HUMBLE.  Tanggapin na lang ni Gab na wala sha nun.  Sa totoo lang, mas nakilala pa yata sha sa mga short-lived relationships nya and definitely hindi nakatulong yun.

He has very good points. If it came from other artists, I would have totally supported it. However, Gab grew up in a privileged life thanks to the same industry that made his parents rich & famous. He totally benefitted from the same system he's criticizing. Plus, admit it, he was given an opportunity to showcase his talent just because of his dad. Yes, hindi sya sumikat but still, he was given an opportunity. Yun ibang magagaling na dancers na hindi man lang makakuha ng airtime dahil halos wala naman tayong avenue to discover good dancers (unlike singing reality shows), sila yun mas may karapatan magreklamo ng ganito.

Napakahaba ng lintaya niya di ko na binasa lahat. Para tong yung sinulat ng character ni Tom Cruise sa Jerry Maguire. Its his right to express his frustrations and thoughts about being unappreciated. Maraming tao ang may looks na hindi sumisikat, may talent na hindi sumisikat , may charisma na walang talent. Iba - iba ang formula for kasikatan or to make it on this industry. For instance kagaya ni Ciara Sotto, Robin nievera,, yun mga anak ni Lorna Fernandez mga anak ng famous celebs. They were given opportunities , breaks all those stuff pero wala talagang dating.

 Kaylangan talaga me talent, charisma at professionalism. Ngayon kailangan ang gagawin mo eh impactful para mapansin.

Nabasa ko and yes, true naman ang sinasabi niya bit what like our sissies said nakinabang din naman siya sa sistema.

Masyado lang mapagmataas ang statement na he doesn't owe it a thing because if di naman dahil sa connections niya hinding hindi siya mabibigyan ng opportunity talagang inalat lang siya kasi wala siyang star factor wala siyang kadating dating.
