Mga sis, sino dito nagapply ng citizenship recently? Mejo nagdidilemma ako sa language proof eh. We have a friend kasi na citizen na and pinasa nya lang sa language proof ay high school & college diploma and transcript. This month namin isusubmit ni hubby citizenship application namin and we are planning na diploma & transcript lang din isubmit baka makaligtas. May mga ibang sissies ba dito na ganun din ang case?

^yes sis they are asking for language proof na. You can either submit IELTS/CLB or diploma & transcript lang. Base kasi sa mga experiences ng friends namin na nagapply na, yung iba hiningan pa ng IELTS/CLB then yung iba naman diploma & transcript lang. So I guess depende talaga sa officer na may hawak ng file.

Although, may rumor din na baka tanggalin na yung language proof.

^Language proof is BS. Daming mga immigrants, di marunong mag-English. Mga Pinoy lang ata ang nire-require which is ironic considering we can speak English.

I couldn't agree more. Language test is $100 din ha. We shall see pag nagsubmit na kami kung hihingan pa or hindi na. Tska ang laki ng citizenship fee, $630! Before they were charging $100 lang.

What?! 630 na? For that amount, I hope they have faster processing time - as in 3 months max.

I know ang mahal na. This year, makakaapply na din ako. Kay hubby noon, wala pang 200 ang bayad.

Yung sinubmit ko yung certificate lang nung na aral ako dito wala ng hinanap pang iba.

it is only the immigrants who has to go through the fees and all the red tape to come to Canada. Those newly landed S. Refugees can apply for citizenship in the next 36 out of 60 mos. Only difference is, they get all the benefits. what a joke.

Just to answer some of the citizenship questions, I got mine 2  years ago although 14 years na akong nasa canada. So recently lang talaga ako nagpa citizenship and that is because of Yolanda. (Long story).

Anyway tip ko lang, once nakuha mo na yung review material (booklet). Basahin mo lang ng isang pasada then sa likod nun may mga questionaire at makukuha mo yung mga sagot online, then basahin mo lang yung mga sagot and don't stress yourself sa exam. Kung ano yung nasa libro yun lang din lalabas sa exam. Worst comes to worst bumagsak ka pwede ka ulit kumuha ng another exam or interviw na lang depende sa immig officer na hahawak ng papel mo.

Naku sis it takes about a year and half to 2 years ang waiting period bago mabigyan ng exam date. May mga friends kami na 5 months lang naghintay may iba naman na 1 year.

As far as I know, ibibigay yung booklet pag may date na ng exam. Correct me if i'm wrong though.

^Whoah, 2 years? Grabe backlog! A couple of months lang yung waiting period during my time. Ang mga Syrians talaga...LOL!

@jj_27, oo varied kasi yung processing times depende sa cic office na humahawak ng application mo. Mabagal processing dito sa B.C. Yung sa akin, nagsubmit ako mid 2012 tas december 2013 na ako nakapag test, tas another 7 weeks wait for oathtaking.

@sarsingkit, sorry sis di ko masyadong maalala kung kailan, kasama ata sa letter ng pagacknowledge na iprocess na nila application mo. Definitely several months bago mo matanggap yung notice ng exam date.

Dagdag rin dun sa sinabi ni lonelymiss28, check nyo yun libraries, minsan may sched sila ng citizenship test prep classes kaso di sya year-round.
Merong paid and free practice test online. Dahil nagaalala akong bumagsak at dumagdag ang waiting time, gumamit ako ng paid pratice site($30) aside sa pagbabasa ng materials. Sulit na rin, kasi pasado 100%.

When i took my test, yung katabi ko na indian nangongopya nga sa akin eh LOL!
