ah talaga, yung applicant ba magpprovide, hmm, parang iba yung sa sister ng friend ko, or baka mali lang intindi ko, haha..sa manitoba din sila e, matagal nga lang, wala pang feedback after ng MR nila last August. 2012 sila nag-apply.

^baka yung sister ang nagpadala ng pera sa friend mo so she can deposit in her bank account and that is her proof of funds. That is how most pinoys do it diba.  The point of showing proof of funds is that Immigration wants to know that you have money to support yourself and dependents (if any) while looking for work. The "sponsor" will only affirm the applicant's settlement plan like kung ano bang plano mo once landing in Canada. We are sponsoring a cousin, may sinagutan din kami na  settlement plan for the cousin coming here. Wala din naman tanong about monetary expenses, mostly about looking for work and looking for house for the cousin to live. Btw, yung application nya is last April 2014. "Application Pending" pa din until now.

^It depends on the size of the household and your definition of comfortable. It depends also where in Canada because cost of living varies per province/city.

I would say a lot of filipinos here are living a comfortable life, dahil lahat naman halos may trabaho. So far wala akong kilalang struggling sa buhay. Nagkakatalo na lang siguro yung may kaya malaking baha at mamahalin ang kotse at yung simpleng buhay, simple ang bahay at yung di ganon kamahalan ang kotse. Sa salary kahit mababa lang ang sweldo pero kung 2 or 3 trabaho ok na rin.

We met 4 families during our stay in toronto.. All of them naman are living a comfortable life.. They have their own houses and cars. Yun nga lang napansin namin na sobrang busy nila lahat.. Sabi nga nila, in canada, dapat magwork parehas..

Meron akong nakilalang canadian dati, trabaho nya cleaning sa mga bahay, pero may sarili syang bahay, maganda kotse nya at every year twice syang nagbabakasyon out of the country. So depende rin talaga sa tao kung ano priorities at paano dumiskarte.

^ you can check the websites of different colleges and universties here to give you an idea. In my opinion depende yan sa time, money, hilig mo talaga. Kung magaling ka sa math kumuha ka ng engineering course, malaki sweldo at maraming trabaho. Kung mahilig ka magluto culinary arts, 1-2 years lang, maraming trabaho medyo maliit sweldo.

Same question from @berrycherry, if you have IT course and already practising it and would like to shift to another career by studying in Canada, ano kaya ang marerecommend nyo na indemand sa canada?

Sana mabigyan nyo kame ng insights lalo na to those living in Canada for so many years. Insights like if you have close relative and plan nya magmigrate, ano kaya yun course that would help him find a good job in canada.

For IT, I think [textspeak!] and business analyst are ok. But you don't need many QAs and Business Analyst in one company so medyo limited din. But ITs are technical naman so hindi naman iba ang software sa Pinas sa software dito. So bank on your expertise and the amount of knowledge. So, try mo muna yung IT before plunging into new career.

Accounting certificates are ok kasi maraming kailangan ng accounting admin or accounting tech. CPA sa pinas, I think madali makakuha ng work kahit at least part time. Yung friend ko na CPA sa pinas, pagdating dito nakakuha agad sa H&R Block ng work which is a good place to start na din.

If healthcare, yung mga technician are ok too. Like xray technician, medical device reprocessor, healthcare, etc. Anything sa healthcare, ok eh basta sa hospital or health region ang work kasi hospital are owned by the government. I would say jobs in healthcare are in demand, but of course competition is tight. 

My husband is studying now ng Power Engineer. I think 1 year lang or less but you have to complete "internship hours" and pass the provincial exams. May engineer lang sa title pero hindi talaga to engineering. Hehe.

Pag teacher, ayun wag ka na umasa. Sorry, pero kahit graduate dito, hirap makakuha ng work.

Yung mahihilig naman manggupit pwedeng kumuha ng classes sa hair academy. Meron akong kilala sa toronto area na pinoy a long time ago na ito kinabubuhay, pila ang nagpapagupit sa kanya puro pinoy clients nya kasi mura na maganda pa gupit.

Kaso sa tingin kun IT ka, sa mga big cities lang like Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton nun nagcheck ako online sa Canada. If plan mag-aral ng IT sa Sask/Regina and Manitoba mukang walang IT opportunities sa lugar na un.

^^ Q A yan. Hehe. Sorry. Meron din naman opportunities pero syempre nasa big cities kasi ang big companies. In Manitoba, here in Winnipeg, andito ang headquarters ng ibang big insurance companies so of course ITs are needed.

^sa Quebec lang yang CSQ ata, so not really familiar.
