clerical error on marriage certificate

we just found out that on my parents' marriage certificate, my dad's last name is misspelled on the first two instances his name is indicated. but on the latter part his last name is correctly spelled. also, my dad's place of birth is incorrect. we were told to go to the local civil registry office of the municipality where their marriage is registered. has anyone here had the same experience of having clerical errors on their marriage certificate?

If the document is recently-created, you can have the LCR issue an affidavit stating the correct data.
