Transgender help
« on: August 18, 2015, 06:01:12 am »
So my son who I love with all of my heart feels as though he is a girl trapped in a guys body. He tells all the people at school this, but when we try to talk to him he won't talk to us about it. I am having a hard time understanding him. He likes to paint his nails and dress up in my clothes. Should I let him become a girl? What do I do?

Best thing to do is support him. Kasi pag kokontra ka, lalayo yan sayo. Baka mag rebelde pa nga. Try having conversations in which he can express himself to you. Like if he wears make-up at school, or dresses inappropriate clothes. Tell him to respect himself so that others will respect him in return. Let him feel that you are there for him so pag may problem siya or something, he can always talk to you about it.

Accept him for who he is. Everything else will follow but this step is crucial.

Paano?

Confused lang siguro because of media and the society. Guidance lang talaga for now esp from his father, more bonding time with father or any guy. Wag masyado panoodin ng mga shows they lantadan ang support sa ganun. pray hard.

I read an online news article about Angelina Jolie and her daughter Shiloh. I wouldn't say she is encouraging her daughter to become a full fledged transgender but from what I read, they support Shiloh by allowing her to dress up the way she wants to. The child prefers to wear male clothes and wants to be called "John".

Your child needs love, acceptance and support from both you and your husband. How is his relationship with his dad? How old is he? I am asking these questions because I have a gay brother. We are not close to our dad because he was a silent man so our mom is our role model.  My kuya is not a tranny but when we were younger, there were a few times when he wore my mom's clothes and shoes at home.

He wasn't openly gay but he doesn't deny it neither until he went to another place to study for college. There, he some sort of came out of the closet. He also told me that he knew he was gay ever since he can remember.

My parents and I love my brother so much. He is very talented, intelligent, loving and sweet. He is an achiever. I look up to him. In fact, most of the things that I did to become successful in my career I learned from him.

About the makeup, even young girls are not allowed to wear them in school. Tell him that.

I really do not think opting "getting physical" to change the child's ways would be the best option here.  Understanding and support is what is needed.

This is going a bit "weird" but there are those who are really going to be not comfortable as a normal male or female.  And if you want to go further I did the math on someone wherein kaya siya gay ay dahil mabigat ang karma niya if he lives and loves as a normal guy - I haven't said revealed this yet to the subject.

Malaking factor rin yun influence ng parents lalo na ng father as how AlphaFemale opined.

try to talk to him na dapat mukha pa rin na respetado sya para yung ibang tao hinde sya mababastos. Hows his relationship sa daddy nya?

if ginawa mo na ang  lahat pero ganun pa din talaga, just accept him for what he is. Hinde naman ibig sabihin na trans e magiging masamang tao na sya kaya just support him kung ganun na talaga

Let him be. Let him grow. Doon mo makikita yun. Kung iniiwasan niya ang topic try to find ways like bring him to the mall then buy him nail polish or kung ano gusto niya then unti untiin mo yung topic. The best thing you can do right now ay suportahan siya.

I may not be as straight as a ruler but my mom still loves me.

TS, we should accept him for what he is but still i-guide natin sya. I know na magiging happy sya wearing girl's clothes or painting his nails but we should still remind him na respect begets respect. He may feel and act like a girl but remind and explain to him that there are limitations.

TS, maybe you could approach him as cool parent. like, sharing your beauty regimen. exchange ideas about that topic. if he feels shy about it, drop the topic. that is if you support him lang. from there, you could lead him to be a respectable homo. kasi pag pinagtabuyan or strongly against ka, he might hang out with people na he feels he's accepted. pansin ko dito nabubuo yung mga kaiingay na mga gay.
