Ang sad naman. Pwede naman kung gusto nila assure yung solemnity eh pre-approve yung vows para sure na goes with the aura. Ang mga pari nga free-flow sa homily, minsan may recitation pa with the audience, tapos yung couples di pwede mabigyan ng couple of minutes for each other? (Sorry to say this, pero CBCP, chill naman diyan)

sayang nga lang kasi for me iba parin if we do the vows inside the church. it's like you're speaking those words in front of God.

I'm going to get married this April 2016 sa Chapel on the Hill and to be sure I called their parish and they informed me that they already received the memo from the Cardinal. Hence, it might not  be allowed anymore.  :(

Awww. I changed my church pa para dito tapos bawal na. So sad. Pero ganon talga.

^^Thank you sis your_shyness for the info! Since CBCP issued memo, for sure it applies to all catholic churches na. Sigh. Isip nalang tayo ng ibang way to recite our personal messages if we really want it - but for sure not in the reception. Hehe!

my cousin and her now hubby were able to say their personal vows in their wedding today. it was done right after the official church vows. i guess the priest and the church allowed them.

^^Shrine and Parish of St. Therese of the Child Jesus in Marcos Hway, Antipolo. Was surprised the church allowed it coz during the mass, the church staff were quite strict and were the ones telling people what to do and not the coordinators. They even gave shawls to the speakers who wore sleeveless tops.

When my friend got married they were allowed to say their personal vows but before the "you may now kiss the bride" part. So I think it sometimes depends on the church/priest din. :)

So it really depends parin pala sa church and officiating priest no kung san nila i-insert ang exchange of personal message ng couple.

Sa FB Page ni Ms. Darlene, one of the suppliers suggested din na magkipag coordinate sa church at priest if they'll allow to give the couple at least 5 mins to recite their personal messages right after the ceremony - by then tapos na kasi yung liturgy so hindi mawawala yung essence ng church vows. Pwede rin yung before mag kiss the bride since the mass is already finished.

I hope our church and our officiating priest will allow it for us.

Hindi naman kame nalungkot ni h2b kasi di rin kame sure if we will have personal vows. Haha.

Others can have it nalang sa reception if gusto nyo talaga. Or mas gusto ko yung sinabi ng h2b mo sis berrypincessy, say it to each other nalang mas ok kung nasa church pa kayo. para your vows are between each other and God talaga. Kakilig, hehe.  ::)

Sa'kin okay lang, the church must have a good reason para iimpose yung policy na yun. Vows and prayers are powerful so it must be that gusto lang din nila that these remain sacred, though naiintindihan ko din naman na this may be upsetting for some couples.

we had our missalettes approved by our priest during our canonical interview, nakalagay dun na we have personal vows right after the official church vows. our priest said it was ok naman. the official vows daw is enough but if we can add to that if we really want to. he just said that we should keep it short para maaalala yung vows talaga. some daw kasi inuungkat pa simula pagkabata which people dont really need to know, parang nawawala na yung sense.

Depende sa church ata sis. Sa misal kasi na bingay ng Caleruega for us to follow is, sa may part ng exchange of vows / personal message may note dun na very soft sound lang yung background. Ask mo sa church nyo sis if they'll allow. =)

I recently attended a where our couple friend had personal vows/messages during the ceremony. So pwede pa rin pala. Probably depends on the officiating priest I guess? So maybe you can still try to ask your officiating priests if they will allow you to have your personal vows/messages during the ceremony :)

^yes sis. Pero during the ceremony, the priest asked for their message for each other. Ayun.. instant vow tuloy.

Di na kami nakagawa ng vow during our wedding. Pero okay lang din naman. After watching our sde, i realized mas okay na hindi na kami nagpersonal vow. hehe

Hi guys. Just recently attended meeting with fr allen of caleruega. He said talagang hindi na pwede ang personal vows. He said kahit man sya, he wants personal vow as much as possible but ang fear nya is baka mavideo nga daw yung personal vows and makarating sa cbcp. So sya din ang maiipit. So better, to follow na lang. We can have our personal vows sa reception na lang. Yun lang, it will not be as solemn as pag nasa church. 😢
