UTI While Pregnant - is really that common?

nung first check up ko (5 weeks ako nun) urinalysis at cbc test agad so after a week pagbalik dun nalaman may UTI ako. Ako kasi bago ako mabuntis may UTI talaga ako, nawala after treatment, apparently meron pa pala pero ako hindi ako pinag take ng gamot which is dapat pala kasi nung pinanganak ko si baby meron syang kaunting toxic granulation - usually daw from mothers yun. Parang common sa may UTI na left untreated na napapasa sa baby ng onti. So OK lang mga sis to take meds as long as safe for baby and prescribed by OB.

^sis andy2014, anong effect kay baby nung toxic granulation? Scary naman. Nagpaurinalysis ka ba ulit weeks after mo malaman na may UTI ka? Nawala ba yung UTI sis? ako kasi nagpaurinalysis ako on my 24th week, feeling ko mataas na yung wbc pero sabi ni ob ok pa daw yun, kaya hindi naggamot, tas ayun nga , nung 28th week ko nagpaurinalysis ulit ako dahil nafifeel ko nga na lagi akong parang maiihi, yung results mas mataas na yung wbc compared sa results nung urinalysis ko @ 24 weeks. Kaya feeling ko nga medyo late pa ko tinreat. Anyway, sana after ko matapos yung antibiotic for 7 days okay na. Ang iniisip ko lang, pinastop kasi ni ob yung ibang vitamins ko, baka naman macompromise yung growth /weight niya, sabi ni ob, para lang daw maiwasan yung multi drug reaction. Para tuloy gusto ko parin uminom ng vitamins while on antibiotic, kaso ang hirap naman sumuway.

sa akin hindi naman malala, may kaunting infection sya. Pero sabi ng pedia "baka" sa akin galing. Nagamot naman ng antibac na gamot. Hindi naman malala yun. Yung pinsan ko, twins (boy and girl) anak nya, malala ang UTI nya, yung girl may UTI nung pinanganak, nagamot din naman agad. Wag kang mag worry kasi extreme case yung sa pinsan ko.

Sumunod ka na lang sa OB mo sis baka may conflict yung gamot sa vitamins kaya nga pina pastop. Baka pwede naman damihan na lang fruits and veggies.

After 7 days of taking antibiotic, unfortunately, I still have uti. I'm now on vaginal suppository and hoping it'll work.

My OB says its common for pregnant na magka uti even my friend nung preggy sya nagka uti sya yung kanya nga nag chi chill pa siya ehh. My ob adviced me to take cefuroxine pero i only took it for 3-4 days tapos cranberry juice and buko juice lang. Medyo scared kasi ako mag take ng medications kaya dun akonsa mas natural remedy.

super weird nga bakit hindi nag take effect ang oral meds, ang funny pa is mas tumaas ang bacteria after.  madami naman akong iniinom na water and buko juice, aside from prone talaga preggies, I was hospitalized na din kasi before due to UTI pero eto ang UTI na wala namang symptom.

sis longing, ako din naospital because of UTI. kaya binonggahan ko yung water intake ko, kaya nga na-stress ako nung nalaman kong may UTI ako. hehe. Di ko kasi alam kung anong paginom pa ang gagawin ko to prevent it. hehe. update mo ko sis kung umeffect naman ang suppository. nagsuppository ako before dahil naman sa discharge. yung neo penotran. Yan din ba yung nireseta sayo ngayon sis?

^yes sis, neo penotran. Will be done tonight and magpa urinalysis ako ulit within the week pati u/s. Naka complete bed rest din kasi ako and my husband won't allow me to drive to go sa hospital so medyo dependent ako sa availability niya.

Sis don't worry about the antibiotics. OB won't prescribed any med that would harm the baby.

I've taken antibiotics also, baby is healthy.

Mas delikado if you won't take them, baby might get affected.

sis rhylie10 , ganyan din ininom ko dahil sa UTI. And same tto ng vslue sa wbc. After taking zoltax 2x a day for 7days, nawala na UTI ko. Tama si sis coco cola, di magbibibgay si ob ng hindi safe kay baby. Mas hindi okay kapag hindi natreat. Get well soon sis!

I also had uti on my 28th week, nagsimula sa pananakit ng tyan then found out uti pla. Dr prescribed me cefalexin which is safe daw sa buntis. I was in doubt at first kc 4x a day 500mg for 7 days, pero tinake ko p din para d magkaroon ng problem. Kaya lang after 4 days i already felt yung allergic reaction ko sa gamot, worst was i cant breathe anymore and having palpitation. I went straight to emergency and checked if i can stop taking the antibiotic. After several tests, i went home clear of uti na with approval to discontinue taking the med. thank God!

Ako din prone to UTI and Yeast Infection when I was pregnant. I don't know if may connection with my eating ng fish balls kasi baka may bacteria kasi malakas naman ako sa liquids.

Its my 3rd day taking cefuroxime not because of uti but because of severe coughing. Im prescribed with this 2x a day for 7 days then ambroxol 3x a day for 5 days.

I used to have uti too. That was on my 8th week siguro. But my previous ob didn't even bother to check the results. Ako naman i was not alarmed or pre occupied siguro ang mind ko and was focused with my subchorionic hemorrhage then. My new ob cared to check the urinalysis results when i was on 12th week na. She prescribed coamoxiclav 625 mg. Not sure of the dosage pero 600+.

We have bought the meds already but hubby forced me to repeat the urinalysis first before taking the meds because previous results were 4 weeks ago pa. New results showed na normal naman lahat so i didnt take the meds anymore.
