Baptism of my baby is approaching so of course I ask for the confirmation ng mga gusto naming maging Godparents if they can make it. Unfortunately there are some who can't make it mga 3 of them. I told them na if they can't be able to present or make it sa mismong day ng binyag gagawin ko na lang silang Godparent sa kumpil.

Some of them pumayag sa ganung set up. Though may 2 na sinabi sa akin na kahit wala sila they can still be Ninang or Ninong.

Now is still possible na maging Godparents sila kahit no show during baptismal? Yes I know the alternative like proxy or representative. Honestly we don't want proxy first, gusto namin sana lahat makapagpresent. Though possible pa rin ba yung sinasabi nila na kahit wala sila sa araw ng binyag  or kahit walang magpresent they are still Godparent?

^i think so yes.  kase ako kapag hindi ako nakakapunta sa mga baptismal, they still call me ninang. at para saakin ginagampanan ko pa rin ang pagiging ninang ko sakanila.

Yes! And they should send a gift too. Best if they can make up for their absence by going to see the baby on another day.

Yes, i have friend who werent present during baptismal but they made sure na bumawk sila after that.

Ganun pala yun, I realized it now. Kasi sabi ko if they can't make it sa baptism sa kumpil na lang. Although another idea ko is they are Godparent but I can ask them to present on kumpil.

Teka paano nga pala yun? yung hindi magiging present isasama ko pa rin yung name nila sa Church?

^yes you still have to list the names even those not able to attend, i know that was allowed in the catholic church here where the kids were baptized.  but for the mandatory catholoc christening seminar, at least one of the godparents, in addition to both parents, is required to attend and he/she is indicated as the principal godparent.

Thanks for the reply.

for now yung isa na lang muna na hindi present ang isasali ko sa list then yung iba sa confirmation na lang. though I still ask her to be present during confirmation.
