Resizing of Wedding Rings

Hello ladies, anyone here who has an experience in resizing wedding rings 2 times larger than the orig size. My fiance bought a made to order ring sa Saudi kaso its size is small. Saan niyo po pinagawa? Anyway, hindi pa nakukuha ng fiance ko yung singsing dahil di pa tapos yung paglagay ng diamonds, pero tapos na daw yung basic na ring, sa tingin niyo pwede pang ipahulma or iparesize yun? Ang alam ko kasi may mga jewelry shop na hindi na nagpapabayad kapag may changes involving the size. Salamat po sa sasagot. *Pakibura na lang po kung meron ng thread similar to my query.

Has your fiance asked the shop kung pwedi silang magresize? Most shops nagreresize sila. Maybe with an added fee, since customized na yung sa inyo. Better to have your ring finger sized accordingly as well. There's also 2 types of sizes, the british and american one. Yung British size makes use of letters, while the American one us same as in the Philippines which uses numbers.  I don't know which standard Saudi jewelers uses.

^Hello, thanks for the reply. No, he hasn't kasi he has no time to go to the shop. Ganyan din sabi ko eh, karamihan ng mga jewelers nagpapachange ng sizes. I just hope na sana naman huwag siyang tagain sa fee.

^Its about 1k to have a ring resized here including re-plating. Anyway compare nalang kung saan mas mura to have it resized. Then you can go get your fiingers measured/sized in a local jeweler and tell your h2b what your size is, if you plan to have it resized in Saudi.

Sis, resizing two times larger than the original size? So they might need to add more gold tama? Baka your hubby can have it resized kung saan nya nabili..

^Yes. I've been googling and it says it's possible to have it shrink or expand as much as 4 times of the original size. Thanks!

Sabi din ng mom ko parang kulang.  Is it malas to do that? Hahaha! I know my question sounds a little stupid. Hahaha! Has anyone heard of this?

Ah ok. Halata ba yung pinaresize mo? And may I know if how many sizes did you have it enlarged or shrinked it to?

Uhmm I don't know sis about malas. hehe.  But then I'm not into superstition.  Although kung hindi pa kayo kinakasal, then I don't see anythig wrong with it.  Shempre kung kasal na kayo, nabasbasan na yun ng pari.  hehe.  If you really want to, then go for it hehe.  I think studded wedding rings depend on the daintiness of the bride's finger hehe.  Sa akin lang ito na opinion, hehe. Kasi when we were looking for wedding rings for me(i've got 2 kasi we'll be wed twice, plus my E-ring is kind of plain hehee), I tried on several types and I found out that kahit gusto ko sila hindi bagay sa finger ko yung mga eternity ring and half eternity ring. My fingers are short and stubby. It's not dainty at all hehe. Bagay sa akin yung 5stone na wedding rings, and bagay sya dun sa E-ring ko.

^It was my dad who had his wedding ring resized recently. Hinidi halata at all. It was resized to several sizes up. They went to Greenhills and waited while it was being done. My parents also don't believe in the superstition na malas to have your wedding ring resized.

When we were checking wedding rings, nag ask around ako for the price, she gave the cheapest quote among the 3 jewelers na nakausap ko.

My brother's fiance had her engagement ring re-sized last Sunday. It was only 550 php not 1k pala. But maybe because they didnt re-plate it, but may kasama na cleaning. They also gave back the piece of gold that was removed to make it smaller.

@mimiku, wouldn't expanding it 4 times the original size make the original design thinner?
