Best wedding Ive attended is a destination wedding in Rome =)
Best wedding Ive attended is a destination wedding in Rome =) but attended by Manila based guests who all flew in to attend the wedding. They had 200 guests, and had buses to shuttle everyone around over a 3 day series of activities including a despedida de soltera hosted by bride's family, and a vineyard tour and party hosted by groom's family, then the actual wedding in a villa just with a gorgeous view of entire skyline of Rome =)No one ate and ran, because they had to wait for the buses to bring them back to their respective hotels hehe. No one could leave so it was fun haha But the program was short and sweet. Food was excellent. Had the funnest after party where all the younger ones moved to a room with a Dj, while the older guests remained at the main ballroom. After the wedding there was an optional 1 week private Eurpoean tour (but at the guest's own expense already hehe) wherein the families further got to know each other. It was a once in a lifetime experience to be in Europe and party almost every night in Rome surrounded by your family and entire clan, as well as and make many new friends. You get to really know each other as everyone was staying at the same hotel in Rome.
chili1113, that was one fabulous wedding you attended! for me, it was my best friend's wedding. it felt almost like an elopement, except it was with close family and friends. she didn't have all the trappings weddings today have but it was filled with love and laughter. her ceremony took place at the judge's office and the reception was at a small spanish-style house events place with only 50 guests.we started the day off, just my best friend and myself, at a salon to get our hair and makeup done. my best friend bought fresh roses from the market that day and the hair stylist used some of them to decorate her hair. i was the P/V so i took photos of her getting ready. we had a laugh because the hair stylist literally filled her hair with roses and not in bunches but dotted roses on her head. when my bestfriend's dad picked us up, he had a big laugh about my bestfriend's hair looking like a vase. we were laughing, tears-in-our-eyes laughing, all the way to the judge's office. we used the rest of the roses to make my bestfriend's bouquet and we did it in the car. we also joked about how our other friend would whip us for doing such a clumsy job they didn't have a program for the reception so we decided to surprise my bestfriend by preparing one on the fly. we had an introduction where we related their love story and they came in to the tune of "runaway" our friend's husband, who is a choir-member, sang a capella as background music for my best friend and her husband's first dance.as you can tell, it was a very simple affair but the love of the couple really shined that day. they're still thinking about doing a church wedding
I've seen the pictures and of course they were very beautiful But it must have been a really costly wedding too hehe. I like my friend's beach wedding in Laiya. Relatively simple styling but all that makes a nice wedding was there.

It was December of last year, and it was one of my best friend's wedding . It was held in Lakeshore, Pampanga. Most of her suppliers were Pampanga-based. It was actually a simple and yet chic Christian wedding. The pastor gave a message on two hearts becoming one and being there for one another despite being against all odds . What made the wedding wonderful, was despite them having low-mid range suppliers, everything went smoothly. The suppliers came on time. Everything worke like clockwork. The night before we texted the coordinator that we can't find a sewing kit in SM pampanga, and we can't get hold of the mananahi who did the bridesmaid's dress as the zipper was stuck. They replied to not worry they have it in their emergency kit and this was 12midnight. Morning time, they helped us sew the dress with the bridesmaid in it As in ang galing nung coordination, we didn't have to think. Their, caterer had so much food we were more than full. Plus as they were doing their dance, nagkaron ng fireworks display. And this was across the lake. We thought that this was theirs as ang galing n timing, only for the bride to admit that they dod not get any fireworks. hehe. The reception even felt bitin. As in 3 hours lang nga ata. We felt that the time went by so fast. and most important of all, kita mo talaga that everybody was having a good time.
^wow bonzaigirl!! Thanks for sharing that. I guess it only shows that having a good coordinator is really important noh? Because a wedding will be nice if things run smoothly and is organized. I guess guests will also enjoy more when the couple is relaxed and not stressed, and that happens when you have a good coordinator.I was watching this show called "Four Weddings" on youtube wherein they have four different brides who attend and score each other's weddings. They have different themes. venues, and budgets. But I really noticed that some wedding super laki ng budget but di naman enjoy the guests, and some very low budget but beautifully done and very lively and crowd. I noticed that the one who usually wins the contest on the show isn't the most expensive wedding, but the most organized wedding with good food!
Oh sis Chili1113, we've watched that show in netflix When we first started watching it, we got nervous because we were thinking some brides really has big and I mean a big budget for their wedding. Then we realized as we started our wedding preps, sometimes if you can afford it, you do need to splurge on some things in life but not to the point of bankruptcy. If you've got a job that pays well, you can afford some few luxuries in life, not too much, otherwise it will be crass. hehe. And yes, coordinating teams should not be just good, but great. I think it helps if the bride has got a good team who will not only coordinate with the bride and groom but with the rest of the team like photo/video, caterer, l/s. That way everything will run like clockwork. In saying this, I've just learned even those who had been in the field for quite some time does get complacent, and it can lead to disaster. So brides should also ante up and make sure to keep their suppliers on their feet. hehe.
