Recommend a good band, singer, etc for reception (Part 3)

@cheezums, for me ha better book Team Ching na lang  sobrang galing ni Ms. Ching we booked them before sa event ng company namin. I watched some videos before of Always Sunday, at first I checked muna mga pictures, I was impressed kasi maganda singer but when I  checked their sample videos,hindi namin nagustuhan ni hubby , ewan ko ba basta that video na nasa Pagcor Pavillion sila and the singer was dancing, basta may off eh, observe mo na lang din mga videos muna sis to prove what Im telling you. Better check din kung sinong mas maraming events na sa wedding para alam mong sanay sa wedding flow ng wedding.

Thanks sa feedback mo sis!    Oo gets ko yung sinasabi mong sumasayaw yung singer sa isang video, off nga haha. Saka nung nag-salita sya na di daw burial yun kundi wedding kaya dapat happy, parang errr na-off din ako, I know she was just trying to entertain, pero off lang yung sinabi and the way she said it haha, Kaya nagdalawang isip din ako sa kanila. Though ganda kasi nung studio gigs nila, dun ako napahanga eh. pero well studio yun.

Talaga ba ok si Team Ching?  Magaling naman nga sya kaso puro bar gigs yung videos, meron kaya sample ng wedding gigs? Sabi ni Monica wala daw vids ng wedding eh, pero sanay naman din daw sila sa weddings.  Actually nag-confirm naman na ako kay Monica na ok na kami sa Team Ching. Basta sabi ko dapat yung keyboardist na kukunin ay singer din para may male vocal, since yun yung set up ng kina Monica (guitarist  / male singer naman yun kanila, bf nya un).  And ipapahiram daw nya yung sax player nila.  Gusto kasi namin talaga ng sax. In Ching's videos wala naman sax player eh, yun din worry ko. Baka di sanay sa sax. More on solid acoustic talaga sila eh. Unlike Monica's team na may pagka jazz effect.  Pero sabi nya same repertoire lang naman daw sila.  Though I feel bad pa rin kasi i feel like dinowngrade kami. Team Monica nabook ko, then ipapasa ko bigla sa other team, sama sa loob!  Diba?    
Is is true ba sister ni Monica si Ching? Nabasa ko lang sa ibang posts dito or the past thread.

Sis shygirlme, oo nga super galing talaga ng sound salad! 
Wow mura kuha mo sa kanila ah. Yung 2 singers, pianist and guitarist yung rate nila sa amin was 13k.
We got 2 singers, pianist, guitarist, bassist and drummer, then they gave us free violinist for 21k.
We decided to get the full band nila para we won't be getting anymore a DJ for the dance party after the program. So far galing nila sa RnB. Super napasayaw guests ko.

@cheezums- Hahaha, ang hirap din talaga magdecide on your part but nagets ko naman yung feeling mo, pare-pareho naman tayo ng feeling pag papalapit na wedding pero cool ka lang, better yet maging open ka lang sa mga gusto mong mangyari for sure lahat naman mapaguusapan nyo ng maaayos. Kalma lang sis!

Sis ems18 ang dami nga nagulat na 10k lang sila promo lang yun. Ang bait nga nila e di mo mafeel na promo lang kuha namin. Actually dapat church lang namin sila kunin pero free yung sa reception.

Im torn between sound salad (teejay and sandy) and 3rd avenue They are both good in videos but havent watched them live. 3rd avenue is 10k more expensive, kaya need your feedback sisses if malayo ba ang difference ng galing nila sa performance? Is it worth to add 10k into our band budget just to get 3rd ave?

Sis lyr3hs, i got sound salad, diane and benjie to be exact. Aside from their rates being cheaper than 3rd avenue's, i like sound salad's vocalist more than 3rd avenue. Same lang naman yan when it comes to musical arrangement and playing an instrument. Nagkakatalo na lang sa galing ng vocalist.

I'm hopping onto this reaaaally late into the game (wedding is last weekend of October!) because initially we didn't plan to get a band anymore. Now FMIL and fiance's relatives (plus my own mom!!!) have expressed how fun it would be to have dancing after dinner with DIs + live band OR a DJ so I've been toying with the following options:

1. Live band - out of all the bands I've checked out, I like 3rd Avenue the most. But they're also more expensive. I don't really want acoustic sounds or a quintet since we can do canned music for the ceremony/dinner. If I get a live band, this means additional supplier meals AND upgrading my L/S package. (Actually may workaround: remove our 2nd projector rental and transfer that cost into the band requirements.)

2. DJ - I like Migs Santillan! His package is definitely cheaper than getting a live band and I've been listening to his mixes online. Really great plus he said he can play all night til I say stop

3. No live band, no DJ - cheapest option kasi status quo lang kami. Lol. Sensitivity is already providing a "spinner" as part of my package so all I need to do is give them the songs I want but there's definitely no mixing or special effects the way Migs or a pro-DJ would do it.

^ Hi sis Reese17, just wanted to share my experience. A second cousin of mine got married like 6 years back. They got married sa Manila Penn. It was a sitdown dinner, after the dinner program and when then SDE was finally shown, the real party happened. They did not have any guest DJ nor band but they had music (maybe mp3), and the DI's came out. Then we were all dancing to 50's 80' music doing ballroom dancing.   It was still fun. Instead of investing their money on any  band or DJ they invested on DI's.  😄😄 But of course this will only be successful if your guests would be participating. hehe. Happy preps

I booked them because of the vocalist, hindi lang kasi maganda sa paningin, or magaling yung band pero they prefer you as a personal friend din in the long run. They gave us discount din sa corporate event na ako ang nagorganize and napakadali nilang kausap sa mga simple details, even the color motifs sinusunod nila, and sanay kasi sila sumunod sa program and rules ng event kaya hindi nako nahirapan, sila na lang lagi kinukuha ko sa event ng company ko. We didn't need a very expensive band, as long as alam mo namang magaling.

is 10k a realistic budget for band/ensemble for ceremony and reception? or nangangarap ako ng gising? hehe
i just inquired sa sound salad and they quoted me 32K kaching kaching! discounted na daw yon.

ok lang sakin kahit hindi full band basta may dalawang singers fem (manipis na boses not the Jaya type) + male.

^check mo fb page ng Symphony Rhythm Strings sis, pasok yang budget mo, church and reception na may mga sample vids sila dun and okay sa min yung male vocalist nila. may female vocalist din sila pero di na namin kinuha kasi meron ding kaming friend na female singer.

Hi Infinite Soul brides, what is their protocol in dealing with you prior to the wedding? I contacted Monica end of August pa for their portfolio/ list of songs and until now seenzoned lang sa fb/ no reply to my email.

When i inquired prior to booking them before, super responsive naman nya. Ngayon na 3 months to go na they're not replying, so we can't finish up the things our coordinator is asking us to turn over.
Im asking her for their list of songs kasi para pipili nalang kami dun, di ba mas ok nga yun kesa special requests? Di naman kasi kami too particular. Hindi ba sila nagwwork with the couple kung di pa super lapit yung wedding? Updated na updated naman facebook nila.

Awww @sparklingjewel. Yun pa naman ang gusto ko with monica laging nagrereply. Kinabahan naman ako. Everytime ko naman sya tanuningin dati lagi sya sumasagot usually within the day, like kung anong lights and sounds ang ok at regarding sa mga inclusions or pwede ko pa iadd na instruments. Try to check their fb webpage i think nandun yung portfolio nila. Pero syempre maganda pa din yung magrereply sya mismo sayo.

Ano nga ba ang timeline para ibigay sa kanila ang requested songs? Yes i think mas ok yung sayo kasi if you are not too particular, less stress for them na aralin pa yung nrequested songs. Did you get their full band? Violin or sax kinuha mo sis?

^IKR? She is super prompt in replying kaya nagulat nga ako na etong last 2 na message ko went ignored. Anyway im updating lang na i WAS able to get a hold of her na, asked her to check her email so she finally replied na! I'm so relieved and you should be too.

Anyway. Ang new challenge ko naman is looking for a new DJ. Our international DJ just confirmed she wont be in the country on our wedding date (which sucks..but that's the risk we took with her, dami niyang gig) so we're looking for a new one. Does anybody have recos apart from Migz Santillan (sya na default namin if ever)? I just dont know of anyone else... thanks!
