Ms. Au of Kato support group philippines FB page removed me in the group!!! Wala namang rules dati sa group na dapat registered kana sa Kato!! Kaya nga sumasali sa group dahil nagcheck ako magkano at ano dapat gawin pag nag ivf kami lalo na't ofw kami. Diba kaya nga my group para supportahan ang isa't isa, present patient man or future patient. Dahil sayo mawawalan ng pasyente ang Kato 😡😡

May free infertility, work-up and management sa KATO bukas March 11. Mini symposia ang tawag nila. Pag nag-attend ka dito, free ang 1st consultation mo sa Kato. 3pm-5pm ang oras. Try niyo lang.

hello kookai88. nagtry ka na ng ivf? tapos na ako 1st ivf ko with kato. nag positive ako pero after 2 weeks bumaba beta hcg ko. im still saving for 2nd ivf cycle. hopefully makabalik ako agad sa Kato.

I am so disappointed in BIG DECLINE IN SERVICE QUALITY of kato. I feel they are operating way above their capacity.

I have embryos currently being cultured right now. I am on Day 2 of my cycle today and I AM SUPPOSED to go there to prepare for embryo transfer this month by going for ultasound and hormone assays.

 I called KATO 3x  today because I needed to know if MY EMBRYOS were still alive and will most likely make it to freezing/transfer. Because if they were still alive, I would have gone for checkup today or tom on my Day 3.   BUT NO the embryologists were TOO BUSY and I NEVER GOT AN AN ANSWER.

The receptionist tells me to GO BACK ON MY DAY 7 instead and that sorry the embryologist is too busy.

 HELLO?!! Standard procedure for hormone testing is done on Day 2-3. Am i supposed to compromise on the monitoring of my body in preparation for a transfer? Is it too much to ask that I be updated on the status of my embryos today or tom (Day 6 of culture) so that I can make an informed decision on whether to come in or not for checkup. Because If I am going to transfer those embies, I want my body to be prepared and not miss any SOP checkups!

THIS kind of service is abysmal compared to when my friend had her IVF last year. She was updated regarding the growth of her embryos each and every single day. Now, KATO has the NERVE to tell you, they don't allow you to call for updates anymore.

oh no sis chili! timing is very important for assisted reproductive technology (ART), kapag mali ang timing, pwedeng masayang yung isang buong cycle.

what are your next plans? call them na lang ulit, kasi sayang yung naharvest na embryo sayo, tapos hindi mo naman alam anong growth status nila. and you still have hormone testing to do pa.

^Yes sis kukulitin ko talaga sila. Ill try to get some answers. My husband was even suggesting that I just go there and demand to get some answers from an embryologist on the status of my embryos so that I can go ahead with hormone tests if my embryos are still alive.

This TCC and IVF journey is NOT easy at all. And it doesnt help when people at your clinic are to busy for to give you the information you need in order to make informed decisions of your next step. =( =(

^Hi sis, I'm a patient of kato and I also noticed that the red tape has increased and the service is lacking sometimes. I think sometimes the receptionists and nurses make decisions instead of elevating to the doctors. I can understand naman the logic in that and that most issues can be solved that way but they must also be open to ask the doctor esp regarding patients that are already undergoing IUI/IVF.  Will not get into details na re my experiences but whenever I felt I was being cut off or left in the dark, I always insisted (nicely) to talk to one of the doctors and everything turned out ok. Medyo hassle nga lang. I think it might be a good idea nga to go there, as your husband suggested. Good luck!!!

^Thank you for the suggestion sis! What I did was call again today. And of course the receptionist and embryologist turned me away again. I needed to be firm with them and explain that I NEED to know the status so that I can come in for my hormone tests at is already my 3rd day of cycle and last chance to get baseline results.

Only then did I get a status update. Thankfully 1 have 1 blasto Grade C frozen, although sadly the other 2 embryos stopped developing. But because of that info, I was able to go to kato in the afternoon for the hormone test, ultrasound, and consult with the doctor.

Can you just imagine? IF I DIDNT INSIST on speaking to the embryologist I would have gone there on my DAY 7!!!!!!! I would have totally missed the chance to get a baseline hormone test.

Anyway, I really feel it is because they have way too many patients already which is why the quality of service is declining. When I started out in December it wasn't so bad. But now, even when I go in the afternoons, there are always still a lot of patients, when it used to be almost empty.

The good thing though is once I am in Kato, I never felt that the doctors were rushing me once I sat in front of them for a consult. I am trying to be positive and not let the small things bother me =) Anyway I know there is no such thing as a perfect clinic.

Sobrang nasaktan ako sa HSG sa kato, pero mura lang 1680 lang ang bayad. Water and air ang gamit nila imbes na dye.

^Oh my!!! I was supposed to have the procedure also before when we were considering IUI. Hahha i panicked when my friend told me it was super duper painful and that normally in other reproductive centers the do it under anesthesia.

But we skipped this since I opted to go straight to IVF =)

Hi sis, I guess its different for every patient and I was fortunate it hsg wasn't painful for me (and mababa pain tolerance ko ha). I underwent hsg during my 1st consult at kato and I didn't feel much pain naman.  Dr. Mendiola told me to take 1 tablet (I forgot na exactly what it was, but it was either buscopan or ponstan) 1 hr before the procedure. The insertion of the catheter was a teeny bit uncomfortable pero super split second lang sya. And when they started injecting the fluid, there was mild discomfort like the pain you feel sa puson with mild dymenorrhea. It was over quickly, patent naman both tubes ko and afterwards there was just like a lingering heaviness sa puson for mga 10 min. And that was it and as some of the other sisses mentioned, it was super affordable (am shocked nga when I found out how much the other obs charged for hsg)

aha bakit ganun sayo sis 1hr before the procedure pero s akin ang sinabi 2 hrs before the hsg procedure. Mefenamic at buscopan ang pinainom sa akin. kaya siguro nasaktan ako ng sobra.

^Hi sis, I think yung level of pain sa hsg differs from person to person lang talaga. I don't think yung meds ganun kabilis mawawalan ng effect. But at least natapos na yung hsg mo and you probably wont ever have to do it again

Ang mura naman ng hsg sa Kato, p1680 lang with water and air. Usually dye ang gamit.
I can't remember kung may anesthesia yung sakin pero basta mahal yun 6yrs ago sa makati med ako. Or baka depende sa Oby...
Mga sis tiisin lang talaga ang pain sa hsg, important test yan at ang nabasa ko nakaka linis din yan ng konting mga bara sa tubes!

Kay original OB na siguro muna ko magpapaHSG by next month pag failed pa din this cycle. Then planning to switch to KATO after.
