Pool Party / Swimming Party for First Birthday

Hi Sisses,

I'm a first time mom and my son will be turning one this coming November.  I have limited budget and I can't splurge hundreds of thousands of pesos for a first birthday.  Ayaw din ng parents ko to splurge on the first birthday kasi hindi naman maaalala nung bata yun.  I'll save that for hist 7th birthday.  Ayaw naman ng hubby ko na sa fastfood ang first birthday.  Actually mas gusto ko na lang sana na sa fast food para less hassle sa preparations.

Right now, to cut on costs, I am thinking of a pool party na lang.  What would be the things na need ko pa rin iprepare for a pool party? Venue and catering are staples, siyempre.  I believe I can omit the magician, bubble shows, etc.  Ano ba ang dapat ko pang isama if pool party bukod sa catering and venue?  Need ko pa bang magdecorate ng venue?  Need ko pa ba ng candy bar?  I know it's still my choice pero I don't want the party to look dull.

Maeexcite naman siguro ang mga kids kapag ang nakalagay sa invite nila is swimming party diba?

Hi Sis! I'm planning for a pool party too pero binyag+1st bday sana. Kaso parang lumalabo na because I couldnt find a church pa na medyo malapit sa venue.

Anyway, for you'd need to decorate the venue para magkaroon ng party feel. Kaunting balloons, lanterns or pompoms or paper wheels. Pwede ka magDIY.

Plan out the program din--pool games ba or games muna bago sila magswimming?

Uhm, cake, souvenirs. Last mo na yung candy/dessert bar, kung may budget pa.

hi sis engr_neechee, same tayo i want a swimming party also for my daughter kasi mahilig siya maligo at mag swim. She will be 1 year old din sa November.

We are eyeing a venue in QC, St. Charbel subd., pero i think ang pwede lang gumamit ng venue ay resident ng subd Pero my mom will talk to one of her friends who live there na kung pwede makagamit kami ng venue.

Any imputs? Ano pa bang magandang venue? I hope around QC sana...

^Sis, taga- San Mateo, Rizal kasi kami.  Kaya nung binyag niya, sa Timberland Heights Clubhouse ang venue namin.  Magkano budget mo?

hi sis, maliit lang ang budget ko, kaya hindi na pool party

Ang hirap kasi maghanap ng swimming pool venue eh iyon palang kakain na ng budget. Meron nirefer samin sa Banlat road in T. Sora 15k ang venue w/ pool. May tinuro rin yung kaofficemate ko in Road20 raw may pool rin pero hindi na ko nag inquire o hinanap.

Nagpabook na lang ako sa Peach Blossoms restaurant, para sure na may party anak ko.

I want a pool party for my son's first birthday din, small party lang. Wala pa din ako venue, any suggestions mommies? tia!

I think kahit wala ng candy bar. You can just prepare loot bags for the kids and some souvenirs.

usually naman kapag pool party mas naka focus sila sa pag swimming so kahit wala na yung ibang aspects ng party, keri na.

if ayaw talaga mag splurge ng sobra, you can also opt to make the swimming party only for immediate family.


We had swimming party last April pero for my hubby's bday. Only immediate family kasama, I think nasa less than 20k lang nagastos namin, all in na.

I have decided to just push through with a simple party - catering, dessert buffet, balloon decorations without a program.  Inawat kasi ako ng elders ko na cargo ko lahat ng kids and if something bad happens, my son's first birthday would be a bad memory. 

Just the same, I'll still be getting the same venue - Mandala West Clubhouse sa Timberland Heights.  Kasama pa rin sa rent ang pool.  Overlooking yung venue - parang Tataytay ang feel.

Binudgettan ko na lang ang buong party ng 45k.  Catering is at 250 per head.

Catering kasi would be PhP 250 per head sa adults, P200 for kids.  Dessert buffet, balloon decors and lot bags all in for PhP 9k.  Venue 6.6k if homeowner, 8k if outsider.  Photo coverage at 3k, if may album, 4200 lahat na. 

Wala pang souveneirs.  Invites idedesign na lang namin then ipapaprint - dunno how much nga lang.

The party cost ballooned to PhP 61k..

Pool party din yun 1st bday ng baby ko. Umabot ng 40k.
Buti may nakuha akong murang venue (Las Pinas area) plus sila na din yun nagke-cater, with table arrangements and chairs na din..
Di na ako masyadong nagdecor since agaw atensyon na yun pool. Tarpaulin at balloons lang.
Saglit lang yun program kasi ang konti lang ng bisitang kids at mas gusto nila magswimming..
Namigay ako loot bags for kids, at small towels sa adults for souvenir na may silbi. 
Pool party sya na simple lang talaga.. Importante nabusog ang mga bisita.
