Hi ano mas ok, papalit ako ng dollar dito or mag withdraw na lang ako thru ATM sa Bangkok? Saan kaya ako makakatipid and pwede ba BPI atm doon? Thanks mga sis!

Pongkat: it's better if you bring USD and have it changed there. Pag ATM kasi depende sa bank mo, you may have to inform the bank so they can activate withdrawal from there. May charge din na halos equivalent to php200 per trnasaction and the exchange is rate is relatively lower.

^^ if you have on-hand USD, then just bring and have it exchanged in BKK. But, if magpapachange ka pa from peso to USD then to Baht, i'd suggest just withdraw frm the atm. 

Kami, we usually just withdraw pagdating sa airport. We make sure to withdraw maximum allowable amount per transaction para sulit ang transaction fee. For emergencies, in case di magwork ang atms, we have on-hand mga tira-tirang baht from previous visits + we have USD notes din. We usually use BDO atm card.

Looks like di na kami tuloy sa BKK this month. Hubby was supposed to attend a meeting, isasama nya kami ni baby. But with the recent events, baka dito na lang daw sa Manila mag-meet or baka via teleconf na lang. And kahit matuloy ang meeting nila e hind rin ako papayagan ni hubby to wander around (which is what i usually do when in BKK), lalo't kasama si baby if ever.

Sa mga sisses na nasa BKK now, hope you are all ok. Keep safe, stay alert, be vigilant.

Same here, I'm supposed to go back with hubby next month pero nag dadalawang isip din ako. That area pa naman ang lagi kong iniikutan na mag-isa while hubby's on training. Tapos just heard on the news a second bomb explosion na naman. Good thing walang nasaktan.

Ayun kauuwi ko lang from BKK last Sunday. I arrived in BKK approximately 18 hours before the incident. Nasa biyahe ako pauwi from work when the blast happened -- relatives and friends were calling me asking if I was okay -- wala sa city centre yung hotel namin BTW; around 12kms away sya from Prattunam and around 10-20 minutes away from the airport (but hey, for 2.1k THB per night tapos malapit sa mall, tapos serviced apartment sya, as in parang furnished condo unit na rin yung place, not bad na rin ah)

Dumaan kami saglit sa city centre nung Saturday after namin pumunta ng Ayutthaya (sa takot namin na maulit ulit yung incident, we just decided na madaliin na lang namin yung punta namin dun). Business as usual pa rin naman dun, things look like as if nothing happened (though mas ramdam na yung presence ng army sa area malapit ng Erawan Shrine and nag-iinspect na talaga ng bags yung mga guards sa malls lol). Kalat sa country yung wanted poster nung guy (and nahuli din naman agad yung isa sa kanila) -- thanks to the CCTVs around the busy streets of Bangkok. And konti yung turista sa Ayutthaya -- we were able to get some shots of some temples without other people around.

hi sisses.. question po ano-ano ba maganda puntahan para sa first time to go to BKK? pls suggest hostel na affordable pero safe and ok naman po.. 6 po kami. pano po ba yung sa floating market? yung mag ride ka ng elephant? may package po ba yun? ano yung temples din na pwede makita na maganda? and saan maganda mamimili ng maganda pero murang damit.. salamat po!
