How do you make sure that your house is earthquake proof house?

If you have read the news and all articles about check points on how we know if we need to have our house checked by a professional if it could stand a strong quake. Hindi ko masagot yun ibang tanong kasi hindi ko naobserve nun ginagawa palang. We bought our house from profriends particularly sa Ridgcrest subv. Though premixed concrete ang ginamit nila sa bahay at buhos lahat yun walls..
Hindi parin ako kampante. Have someone of you ay napacheck na yun bahay nyo? Kanino? magkano ang bayad? and ano mga docs ang need nila to assess your house?

actually wala din akong sagot sa iyo dito sis. Better to avoid lang talaga manirahan dun sa malalapit sa Fault line kasi malaki ang chance na bumuka ang lupa dun sa may fault line kapag lumindol. and i cant imagine na makakakita ako non sa totoong buhay! yun ngang bitak na lupa sa bukid nakaka paranoid na kung may lilitaw bang sawa or alakdan, yun pang metro metro na pagbuka ng lupa ta lalalmunin ang kahit anong nakatayo doon..

I'm planning on having my own condo unit kaya curious din ako kung yung building na ina-eye ko is earthquake proof, if not naman, can withstand strong earthquakes. Tulad nga ng sabi ko sa ibang thread, you never know when nature will strike back again.

This is an interesting topic. May mga nakuha na ba kayong tips?

I live in Cagayan de Oro. Hindi masyadong affected ng earthquake ang city namin, but we do experience several from time-to-time. Suerte lang kami ng family ko because we live in a subdivision na medyo elevated (parang mini bundok). Hindi namin masyado napi-feel yung earthquake. Pwera lang kung malakas na siya talaga. But, nevertheless, it would be good to know kung ano'ng measures ang dapat i-follow para maging safer 'yung bahay natin against earthquakes. Na-trauma na kami dito after Sendong (kahit 'di kami affected kasi nga nasa ibabaw yung subdivision namin), kaya medyo extra cautious kami when it comes to mga pangyayari katulad ng earthquake and flooding.

The ones that I know are about how to keep safe when there is an earthquake. Yung ano ang gagawin mo para safe ka; hindi yung ano ang gagawin mo sa bahay mo para protected ito from earthquake. I do hope someone can discuss this in detail para naman ma-apply natin, di ba?

Alam ko lang mga dapat icheck pag bibili:
1. distance from fault lines
2. foundation
3. quality of materials

earthquake resistant, yes its possible.

earthquake proof? no.

when the ground shakes, its can go left to right, forward or backward, up and down or a combination of the three.

so far technology has been able to battle the left to right and forward backward movements.

but no technology yet has been developed to combat up and down movement.
