hello, I had my braces last Friday. I don't feel any pain except when eating. It's hard to eat because you can feel the pressure when chewing especially on my front teeth. So usually ang ginagamit ko is yun last 2 premolars. Ganito ba talaga yun feeling mga sis? I thought kasi masakit kapag bagong lagay and kapag ina-adjust. For me, may pressure lang pag kumakain and it's not even painful at all.

^Depende kase sis sa kailangang ayusin sa ngipin.  The more yung kelangang i-move, the more yung sakit.  And depende din sa Pain tolerance mo. 

Ganyan din ako, when I chew dyan lang sumasakit.  Or when I press my upper and lower teeth together, dun ko lang nararamdaman.  But my concern lang naman is yung front teeth ko na magkahiwalay, and some other minor alignment.  Wala akong sungki.  (The minimal pain lasted for about 2weeks after ko magpalagay ng braces.)

After the first adjustment, 1-2 days lang mahirap kumain, then ok na ako.
2nd adjustment-and so on - 1 day na lang ok na.

sisses, okay lang ba if yung taas lang ang palagyan ng braces? nag-braces na ako before for 3.5 years, kaso di ako nakapag-retainers ng matagal kase nung pregnant ako, super tamad ko magtoothbrush! so ayun, tinamad ako mag-retainers kase need pa i-brush din yun. haha
so ending, yung upper front teeth ko, nag-protrude ulit. yun lang issue kase yung lower teeth ko okay naman. so I am wondering if okay lang na upper teeth lang palagyan ko para umayos yung front teeth ko. TIA

As far as I know pwede naman.  Yung friend ko kase ganyang ginawa yung upper teeth niya lang may brace.   
But check the price Sis, kase baka mamaya di naman nagkakalayo ang presyo ng upper teeth vs upper+lower teeth.

Question: I am looking for an orthodontist for my kid. The one super near where we live looks legit but I had doubts when they said it only costs 45k regardless of complexity. Graduate of CEU daw.

All other places Ive asked around in the area say it is 75k-200k depending on complexity.

Just want to ask if it is normal for legit orthodontists to only charge 45k?? All the clinics I have inquired with are in the Salcedo and Legaspi Village areas in Makati so I find the 45k a bit dubious. Thoughts please!

Mine is only 35k including retainers. Nakabit siya 2012 pa. Pero till now my braces parin ako. QC area naman sakin. I think for Makati its more more more expensive. Actually,  nung nag inquire ako meron 40k yata around makati Ave near A.venue.

Thank you @Myealexis21. Protruded kasi yun front teeth ko and wala naman misaligned tooth and space. The dentist extracted tooth sa upper and lower so yun missing gap na naextract ang need ma-close and fix the protruded front teeth.

3 months kaya may progress na?

^Meron naman siguro. 
Basta lagi ka lang magpapa-adjust monthly para mas mabilis yung improvement.  Ako kase tamad, kaya tumagal.

^^meron ako officemate before na 15k daw ang gastos for his upper teeth braces. As in yun lower part walang braces.di ako makapaniwala na ganun kamura at partial pa hehe.mantalang sakin umabot 60k.then almost 2years din ako nakabraces.then nasawa ako kahit sabi ng ortho di pa pede alisin kasi malalambot pa mga muscles at di pa stable kaya baka magrelapse maggagalawan daw yun mga ipen.di ako nakinig at nagparetainer na lang ako.2x nawala yun retainers ko at nagsawa na din ako magpagawa.magastos eh.hehe..yun naggagalawan nga yun mga ipen.may mga time na nananaginip ako na angsakit-sakit ng teeth ko parang malalagas lahat.yun pala naggaggalawan..pero ok pa rin naman til now.minor lang yun relapse.importante naayos yun grabeng pangka-sungki..

So I have been researching about braces  for my kid. I also asked several dentist friends and relatives for their recommendations and advice.

Basically they told me to be careful in choosing an orthodontist and make sure they are legit.  By saying legit- this means a complete 2year post-grad course on orthodontics. The problem these days daw are there are many dentists who take short courses and practice orthodontics but are not qualified. This can sometimes lead to more harm than good. Sometimes you will even need to redo your braces which will lead to higher costs too.

So be careful lang daw where you have your braces put on. =)

Hello po. Manghihingi lang po ng advice. 1 yr and 7 mos n po akong nakabrace pero di pa din po pantay yung ngipin ko. Yung sa upper teeth ko po sungki yung right canine ko kaya binunot yung katabing premolar. Ang nangyari po eh nawala sa midline yung ngipin ko at nagshift paright. Yung wisdom ko din po sa right tumubo kaya sinakop nya yung space. Yung sa bottom naman po halos walang pinagbago. Sungki pa din.

Marami din po akong concern sa dentist ko. Pag pupunta po ako laging sasabihin na walang deliver yung agent nya. Madalas nya po ako pabalik balikin. Eh 2 jeep pa po ang sakay ko papuntang clinic nya at halos 45 mins n byahe. Nasasayang po yung oras kasi one time inabot na 5 beses ako bumalik sa kanya para sa wala. Saka parang di naman po sya nagnonotes sa mga ginagawa nya sakin kasi minsan may sasabihin sya na gagawin sya pero sa next adjustment ko di naman nya ginagawa or nalilimutan nya.

Ang tagal din po mapalitan ng brackets ko kapag natanggal. Yung isa ko pong bracket natanggal since 1st week n nagbrace ako hanggang ngayon di pa din napapalitan kasi wala daw delivery. Inaadress ko n po sa kanya yun pero ako pa po napagalitan. Pag may questions po ako di naman nasasagot ng maayos.

Ngayon po lilipat n sya ng clinic. Sobrang layo n po sakin. Ayoko naman pong habulin pa sya dun tapos di naman ako satisfied sa work nya. May alam po ba kayo na pwede malipatan or baka paulitin po ako (since feeling ko po wala akong makukuhang record sa dentist ko)? Sayang din po kasi yung binayad ko. 7k n [textspeak!] full na ko. Feeling ko di ko naman namaximize yung bayad ko. Pati po yung papastahan nya sakin di pa din nya nagagawa. Lagi po nya sinasabi na ipaalala ko pag pinaalala ko naman po sasabihin nya next month n [textspeak!] pero dapat po diba sya ang umalala kasi trabaho nya yun saka kita naman nya kapag sinilip nya ngipin ko. hello, I'm just curious ano ba ang ginagawa pag nagpapa-adjust monthly? do they need to replace the wire and rubber on each bracket? mag-one month na yun braces ko pero mukang walang movement kasi walang extra wire akong nafi-feel sa dulo ng tooth.

OK, I just read the whole thread plus the previous 30-page thread on braces! 

I'm interested because I want to have straight teeth, especially that my 2 front teeth are slightly misaligned. I think hindi naman *dapat* ako gagastos ng malaki kasi slight lang naman ako misalignment ko since I already had braces (twice) when I was younger.

Problem is, now that I'm older, I'd like my braces to be hidden. This is why I've been on a search for dentists who do lingual/incognito braces. Grabe, ang hirap nila hanapin ah! Iilan lang sila, and di ko pa sigurado kung magagaling sila kasi nga ang konti ng choices and ng reviews (actually, walang reviews  ) The only sure and good reviews I get for lingual are with Dr Nadela, but when I asked their clinic, around P160k daw ang price ng lingual nila and every Sat lang available si Doc. Too expensive for me since minimal lang naman ipapacorrect ko (my friends say di naman halata pero gusto ko parin ipaayos), plus hindi compatible for me ang schedule ni Doc.

Sisses, if meron kayong marerecommend na dentist (aside from Dr Nadela) around Pasig/QC/ortigas, please do.  90K budget, and no, I won't go for sapphire/ceramic. I'm only opting for lingual.

try asking sa shinagawa sis. meron sila sa makati and ortigas. d ko lang sure kung magkano. madami sila option ng braces dun e.

Question mga sis, kapag ba natanggalan kayo ng brackets pinapabayaran ng dentist nyo yung dikit? Nakakasar kasi yung dentist ko, bawat tanggal 300 pesos. Samantalang yung ibang dentist libre lang ata.

Really sis shygirlme? Di ko matanggap. hahaha. Dati kasi sa una kong dentist libre lang pag natatanggal. Hay. Akala ko pa naman wala nakong gastos kasi tapos na payment ko yun pala meron pa rin. Pero infairness sa dentist ko magaling talaga.
