MEAL PLAN FOR BABIES
« on: May 19, 2015, 06:12:54 pm »
Hi guys!

I have a 7-month old and I'm so irritated that my mom and his yaya keeps on letting him eat Cerelac. So now that I've decided to take full control, I'm planning to create a monthly meal plan for him.

Do you guys have any suggestions? And what are the tools I need to prepare his food. I know mostly will be mashed. I'm already considering potatoes and various fruit juices.

Thanks!  ;)

^ not an expert mom, but i can share what i did and have been doing now. i have a daughter who is almost a year old. Basta remember to introduce one new kind of food at a time, for 3 days, so you can easily pinpoint if he has an allergy to a particular food.

I started with mashed kamote, potato, carrots, squash, sayote, brocolli (blended).. tsaka rice (giniling na bigas then lulutuin, so para syang paste-y). I introduced fruits (apple, pear, papaya, melon) nung 8mos si baby. Or minsan pinapa-grate ko.

Minsan me sliced fruits and veggies din para magngatngat sya. Then chopped/shredded meat (pork & beef muna) na din, my baby likes this sa sabaw.

Pedia said wag muna chicken, fish & other seafood, tsaka citrus fruits. Pag nag-1yo na daw si baby tsaka mag-introduce.

My baby also likes taho (the soy part only, no sago, no matamis sauce) and yoghurt (i usually offer plain yoghurt lang, though minsan i give yung me halong fruits).

^ me too, wala ako balak ipa-cerelac si baby..

Me time kasi na nagconstipate sya, tapos ayaw nya mag-kamote that time. Ayaw din nya sa papaya. so i had her eat 1 small jar of prunes for dinner. Kinabukasan nag-poop naman na sya so back to her usual food na.

Sa Healthy Options ko binili.. to relieve her from constipation lang.

^ Nagwa-water naman si baby that time. Anyhow, that happened about 2x lang during the past 5-6mos so di naman ako nag-worry. Magwa-1yo na si baby in a few days.

^ yup. Healthy baby. Complete vaccinations. :) And still breastfeeding her - complementary feeding with solids.

If you have blender, pwede nyo gamitin for food making. I have a baby bullet kasi, pero kung wala namna kayo nun, pwede kayo gumamit ng blender.

coifishh - yup kailangan lagyan ng water sis, yung iba kaya nagmumukhang shake is pinupuree yun. hinahaluaan.

Here are some possible fruit and veggie combinations that you can try sa baby nyo.

* Banana + Papaya + Apple
* Kalabasa + Banana (Kalabanana)
* Pears + Banana
* Banana + Apple (Banapple)
* Sweet Potato + Apple
* Banana + Mango
* Banana + Rolled Oats
* Banana + Apple + Rolled Oats
* Mango + Papaya
* Sweet Potato + Malunggay
* Carrot + Papaya +Apple
* Carrot + Apple
* Apple + Avocado
* Banana + Avocado
* Sweet Potato + Banana + Malunggay
* Squash + Apple
* Potato + Banana
* Squash + Carrot + Greek Yogurt (Optional)
Sweet Potato + Apple + Mango + Greek Yogurt (Optional)
Apple + Banana + Spinach + Greek Yogurt (Optional)

Example: 1 piece of banana, 1 piece of apple , 1/2 cup of water.  You will be surprised that 1 piece of fruit can yield up to 6-8 oz of baby food.

Do not forget to add water to make it easier for you to puree fruits.

Gradually add some water to change its consistency. More water means softer texture. :) You can replace water with formula or breast milk.

I can share you the recipes that I came up with if you like. ;)

Tried and tested recipes ko yan for her.

^ i started with once a day, 1 food for 3 days (to check for any reaction kay baby). Then gradually increased to 2-3x a day.

Recently, i'm giving my baby small meals 3-4x a day. Medyo pihikan sya kumain lately so dinadalasan ko na lang - bale breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks and dinner.
