Sharing tips and advice post-wedding

Sisses,

Another give-back for GT sisses from someone who had already finished her wedding. I had not found any topic on tips and advices from brides who had already "graduated" so to speak who can give tips and advices for brides-to-be, sort of like reminders for them to consider.

Sa akin, if I could rewind my wedding day, I wish I had walked down the aisle more slowly. Although my coordinators were reminding me of this that day, hirap pala gawin. In my case, I had problems with walking in my gown, and I was naturally a person who walked fast, so I think I walked quite fast during the recessional. Wala din kasing rehearsal kaya I wasn't able to pace myself very well. So I suggest if your church allows rehearsals, mag-rehearse walking down the aisle with the music playing na in the background. If rehearsals are not allowed, like in my church, siguro better pa rin to rehearse at home with the music playing. Wish I had done this kasi totoo palang the recessional is over so quickly, dapat talaga namnamin  :)

Happy wedding, sisses!

Mukha syang mababaw pero I think important yung bride's recessional kasi  :)

Anyway, maybe other sisses have other tips and advice on any part of the wedding preps and during the wedding ceremony and reception that they can impart to brides to be.

enjoy the wedding. let go. talk to your guests, entertain them as much as you can.
for me, do not overdo the reception. keep the program as short as possible, para you will have time to actually meet the people na nandun sa wedding mo, have a little chat with them, or at least personally thank them for coming to your wedding. few if none cares for the games, 'pakulo' etc, don't bother much with this.

^binagalan ko walking down the aisle, kasi french lace yung veil ko. mabigat! hahaha

^Ako naman I think sakto lang yung pace ng pag-walk down the aisle ko kaso medyo nahirapan ako dahil yung laylayan ng wedding gown ko naaapakan ko sa unahan. You really need to practice wearing your wedding shoes para magamay mo. Saka medyo mabigat din pala bitbitin yung bouquet mo while walking the aisle. Halo halo na din kasi yung mararamdaman mo during that time e. Weird ba yun? My dad was not able to attend my wedding 'cause he's based abroad kung nandito sya baka may father-daughter dance kami (should have been). Yung iba almost 1 year nag-prepare ng wedding pero parang in an instant lang sya matapos during the wedding itself. Let go lang and enjoy every minute. Yung after ng wedding ang na-enjoy ko kasi nag-Boracay kami (we're both first timer).

Bride to be pa lang ako, pero id like to consult yung mga "grumaduate" na if is it worth it na kumuha pa ng florist? Kase both our church and reception have included in their package ang flowers. Kasi i like flowers na nakatanim pa and just looking at them from afar, and not really fond of bouquets ever since.

Sorry ang dami at magulo hehe. Need pieces of advice! Salamat! :)

I always jot down tips and suggestions or ideas I read from GT coz I know malaking bagay sila lahat..so isa to sa tatandaan ko..walk slowly, take my time:)

super thanks!

^kumuha ako ng florist for our church setup kasi wala available si church na package pero simple arrangement lang kinuha ko since yung church naman ay sadyang maganda na.ok lang siguro na hindi ka na kumuha ng florist for reception kung alam mo ang magiging setup/arrangement/peg mo (mock up) during reception.

sis _glamorosa, since included naman na sa package ok na yun siguro. if you want to add more flowers maybe you can discuss with your church and reception what if mag add ka ng amount para sa flowers.. or pwede din naman na hindi na, ilaan mo na lang yung money sa ibang bagay na mas important like food, rings or p/v..

thanks sis imprincessfiona and xsugar! i would have to re-check and clarify kung ano ang included sa mga packages nila for flowers para mabawasan ang gastos. :)

hi mga brides !
ask ko lang. kasi may concern ako sa wedding gowns. it's a bit awkward to ask pero sige, ask ko na rin.

paano kayo nag cr during the time na suot ninyo gowns ninyo? mine kasi will be a ballgown dress.

worry ko na  mahirapan ako ma-wiwi. Worry ko din na may period ako on my wedding day. :( hay.... pano kaya? pano ninyo nadiskartehan?

^ako tinodo ko na yung wiwi session ko before ko isuot yung wedding gown ko.actually nakawiwi na lang ako after ng reception pagkauwi sa house (ang tibay di ba?).good thing tapos na yung mens ko before ng wedding kaya wala me problem pero depende siguro sa lakas ng mens yung iba nagsusuot ng diaper pag malakas para anti-tagos LOL. Just my two cents!

I did not have a florist because the church and caterer covered that already in the package at OK naman 😊

For those with big gowns, you pee daw facing the toilet and you really need your bridesmaids to help you do the deed.
Didn't experience this because my gown was flowy and comfortable.

Walking down the aisle was one of my favorite shots ng P/V! And yeah I was mentally slowing down kasabay ng music. I practiced in my head countless times haha!
Tip for big gowns, you kick it para di matapakan. Do it subtly because I saw some SDEs halata yung sipa hehe parang galit sa gown.

galing mo sis fantabulous for coming up with an idea ng ganitong thread! this would be very helpful to us bride to be's,.kahit kasi may mga thread na about lots of stuff about sa wedding eh iba pa rin kapag nababanggit yung mga small details! tama ka about sa paglalakad sa aisle na kailangan magpractice..ang wedding namin is a garden wedding at sa amphitheater sa PMA so kailangan talaga praktisin! mahirap nang gumulong ako pababa! haha! kahit mabilis ako maglakad for sure babagalan ko sa kasal..ayokong matapilok kasi moment ko yun eh..hehe..

and yes, thank you sis ff_rabbit sa reminders..ours is a destination wedding and some of our suppliers are Manila-based so pipilitin ko sila na dumating one day before ng kasal ko kahit na magshell out kami ng extra pera sa accommodation and food nila..di mababayaran ang kapanatagan ng loob no..kaya i won't take any risk..

thank you in advance for sharing your wisdom and experiences mga graduates!

sis Reynamargallo - as for the period days naman, you can always use tampon naman eh. then mag pad ka pa rin. heavy flow tampons can last for hours kahit malakas period mo. plus pad pa, so di ka matatagusan agad nun. siguro magsanay ka na gumamit nun if ever hindi ka sanay mag tampon, kasi baka mailang ka if sa wedding day mo ikaw 1st time gagamit, hindi ka pa maging comfy, dagdag stress pa yun. ;)
