Curious din ako about this. Kasi mas iwas-tagos daw. And ok lang kahit active/malikot like exercise, etc. Pag napkin kasi minsan nakakailang maggagalaw.. iniisip ko lang kung hindi ba mahirap isuot at tanggalin. And ano ang feeling while nakasuot sya, like when walking, etc. And if hindi ba messy?

I want to try because it's more earth-friendly than napkins or tampons daw.

Problem is, external cleaning purposes lang alam ko gawin down there.. Isa ako sa mga takot maglagay ng kung ano sa loob baka kasi di na malabas and I have to go to E.R just to get it out :o

yun nga din na-share ng iba. super struggle daw sa umpisa. but once you get the hang of it, easy breezy na daw. minsan makakakalimutan mo na meron ka palang suot na cup.

here's a good read about the cup - http://www.modernfilipina.ph/health/health-issues/5-reasons-to-switch-to-the-menstrual-cup

ang isa pa palang issue ko, against si hubby dito. he doesn't like the idea na may pinapasok sa loob  ;D wala naman daw ako problema sa period ko. kasi nabanggit ko yung iba nawala dysmenorrhea nila when they started using the cup.

I also read na mas maiksi daw ang duration ng period pag gumamit nyan.may effect daw kasi yung bleach/other chemicals na meron sa pads/tampons.kaso para sure na no accidents din, naglalagay ng sapin ang iba in form of cloth napkins to avoid the chemicals dun sa disposable. Dyan yata ako mas magiging hindi ready if ever.

I ordered my menstrual cup online at mama.baby.love and it just arrived today, sakto patapos na period ko. It was smaller than i expcected it to be. Will wait again for my next cycle. Ito ang effect sakin when LO switched to cloth diaper, me too needs to go green. :)

1st month na gamit ko cup, was on my 3rd day na. mejo nahirapan ako putting it in. didn't use lube. no stains overnight. and when i pulled it out in the morning, naramdaman ko yung suction kaya madali ko sya nailabas. yung mga sumunod na, nagkaka-stain ako so i use cloth pantyliner. also, hindi ko na nagawa yung ma-release yung suction kaya mejo mahirap pag pull out. kaya feeling ko parang may sasamang lamang loob palabas  ;D i'm using Lunette size 1 btw.

2nd month, same thing. may stains pa rin kaya i wear pantyliner. struggle pa rin minsan pag-suot at pag-pull out. one time nahirapanan ako sobra yatang napapasok mejo nag-panic ako haha! pero i remember what others said na just relax, ire then hold. lalabas na yun ng konti then grip the base, tapos slowly pull it out.

but it's true na pag suot mo sya, di mo sya mararamdaman  :)

Does it mean heavy yung flow kaya may stains? Or it's on the "grasp" inside?

Mga gaano kalayo siya inside?

feeling ko it's not about the flow but yung proper way ng pag-insert. hopefully sa mga next period magamay ko na sya. like ko yung feeling na clean and walang malagkit down there pag may period. kasi konti lang naman yung stain eh  :)

the lunette i use has parang tail or stem. so pag ramdam ko pa rin sya, that means hindi pa sya ganun kapasok kaya konting push pa te hehe. naka-squat ako while putting it in and out.

The mods deleted my post – I apologize for linking my own blog. Guess I should have just copy/pasted my menstrual cup experience here instead. Anyway, I'll repost the gist of what I've written in the deleted post:

You can use an electric steamer or microwave to disinfect your menstrual cups, instead of boiling. Also, Lunette's cleaning tips say that rubbing alcohol is enough to disinfect your cup in between cycles.

With regards to how long you should boil before the first use, I think it depends on the manufacturer and/or material. Lunette advises 20 minutes. For MeLuna 3 minutes is enough. Which one did you get, munchkins12?

I hope you like your new cup! :)
