Hi sis marchbridetobe let's not think too much about elections--baka dagdag  stress haha. Only thing I can think of that the election circus will affect us is if we have a PS na politician. Baka kailangan ng proxy :p

Hi sis marchbridetobe, I actually asked about the elections when I booked the church. Haha Our date is 10 days before the elections and the wedding will be in Tagaytay. I'm worried na baka magulo sa lugar during campaign periods kasi you know naman the politics here...  hehe But sabi sa church, no need to worry di naman daw affected usually ang mga churches and weddings ng elections, unless siguro as what sis rightback said if one your PS is a politician.

maybe the best we can do is plan our timing ahead and check for alternate routes. i think yung ibang campaigns kung house to house di naman siguro sagabal sa mga venues and church natin. [textspeak!] may rally man, diba that usually happens at night? so baka nasa reception na tayo for afternoon brides before magtraffic. mas scary siguro yung mga traffic situation nearing elections kasi magpapanggap nanaman polticians natin na may project sila.

Oo nga mga Sis. Ang medyo makakaradam ng election Fever e ang mga may ceremonies From March to May.  Ang months na yan ang kasagsagan ng campaigns e, lalo na sa May na election Month talaga. Let's just hope Na irespect ng mga politicians ang ating mga Wedding ceremonies . Huwag sana sila magpalapad ng papel during our respective events.

^I agree with you mga sissies, sige ayoko na dumagdag sa stress ng planning yang pag iisip sa election na yan. Mabuti na lang din at nasa same venue na ang church and reception ko pero kasi malapit na sya sa date ng election so baka lagare mode sa pangangampanya ang mga politicians at kaliwa't kanan ang mga ginagawang kalsada :l

Sis marchbridetobe, yes we still attended a counselling with the pastor days before the wedding even if we are civilly married. It might be different for Catholic weddings ha.. I'm not sure.

Regarding elections, the only problem I can see is kapag may campaigns.. sometimes they can cause traffic din and too much noise. Some areas too may have some posters.. alam nyo naman sa pinas kung saan saan nagdidikit ng campaign posters nila. I can relate to this kase kadikit ng pasukan ang wedding day namin so the church inside UP has a tarpaulin outside "Enrolment for school year ..now going........" hahaha I forgot to have it removed pero buti naiwasan ng P/V. or baka hindi rin naman talaga pwedeng ipagalaw yun if if ever.

^thanks sis belle_v2g naisip ko kasi kung totoong di na kailangang umattend ng mga seminars pag civilly married na eh bawas pa sa aasikasuhin so we might consider it, mabilis lang naman magpakasal sa judge eh. hehe.

I might become a tambay here at GT til 2017 kase my Matron of Honor is getting married in January 2017. So I'm helping her out with researching since based din sya overseas (same country kami). Actually, we're reserving Darlene na nga as her host tomorrow haha!

Anyways, re your questions, almost complete ne yung major suppliers nyo to think na Dec 2016 pa kayo. For strings and bands, you can check on with this thread bro, just back read lang and marami ka ma gather na ideas. =)

Girls sorry one more question (Yes, I'm full of them sorry  ):

Is it alright for meals to be served to guests sa reception while the bride and groom are still not there?

The wedding invite will indicate that my fiance and I are hosts so common courtesy would dictate that the hosts actually start the reception di ba? But the reception time kasi is saktong lunch hour and I don't want to make my guests hungry (lord knows how bad I get pag nagugutom ako hahaha)

What do you think?

You may check some appetizers list from your supplier, meron kasing Mani lang and chips which is very childish and cheap tignan sa wedding, better yet advise your coordinator or AE if may option ba na ikaw mismo mamili or provide a better appetizers like soups veggies etc

sis if your catering package includes appetizers maybe you can request them to serve it during cocktails. or instead of a candy buffet (if you plan on having one) how about a light pastry buffet where you have cookies and maybe crackers with a variety of spreads. and drinks of course.

Hi sis, makikisagot lang,   Are your appetizers going to be served as starters?  If so, you may need to add more appetizers, especially since most of the time, post nups take quite some time, like an hour.  And most of the time, kahit 2 or 3 appetizers lang yan, madali syang maubus since sitdown luncheon kayo. Your guests will be expecting your mains to be served soon. Kaya baka matagal silang mag intay.  Especially kung may travel time pa yung post nup nyo.  Or better, add a prelunch snack.  Like the counterpart to cocktail hour, like what most sisters have mentioned here.  Para they wouldn't notice yung time na wala kayo.  Hope this helps sis.
