Does your mom still clean your bedroom?
« on: April 20, 2015, 06:28:17 pm »

As long na nakatira ka pa sa puder ng mga magulang mo wala ka magagawa kasi matik na nagmamalasakit na nga syo nanay mo para ayusin ang kalat mo tapos pag sasabihan mo pa sya ng ganun- i mean, the least you could do is thank her instead or ipakita mo na sa tanda mong yan dapat you are already responsible enough by doing your own chores instead of ranting in the forums for being an unreasonable, messy and ungrateful slob.

Mother's day is coming up pa naman...tsk,tsk...   :P :P :P

^eto technique, instead of telling your mom to stop cleaning your room why not ipakita mo mismo sa kanya na naglilinis ka din- simpleng punas, walis, ayusin ang table, etc - anything and everything that has clutter i-organize mo and make sure that when you do nakikita nya mismo para wala nang masabi. That way, she will know na marunong ka rin pala mag ayos.

On top of this, idamay mo na rin ang laba ng sarili mong damit, linis sa bahay paminsan minsan. Doing that won't only just stop your mom from nagging and questioning you about your cleanliness but also mapapanatag ang loob nya kasi she will feel na tinutulungan mo sya.

Just apologize for the mess and your initial reaction. Explain mo na lang na you'll fix it as soon as you can and actually do it. Her house, her rules, unfortunately. In the future, sipagan mo na lang ang paglilinis. It's for your own good din naman.

nililinis ko naman ang room ko kapag off ko from work. at nakikita nya yun. but sometimes kahit nalinis ko na, hindi pa rin siya kuntento sa kung pano ko siya nilinis.

and sa room ko lang naman ako medyo makalat. i do help with household chores. i do my own laundry, i help wash the dishes pagkatapos namin kumain etc etc.

di ba may kasabihan 'Cleanliness is next to Godliness'.  use this as your mantra to avoid the unnecessary issues with your mom.  ;)
since you're still staying with your parents, their house, their rules.  also for some mothers,  the degree of orderliness/neatness that their daughters exhibit is a direct reflection of what kind of mothers they are.  kaya siya nagagalit sa iyo, maybe she feels it's a failure on her part, that it appears that she didn't train you well.  ganon lang yon.

I can relate sis sportygurl. Whenever my mom is in Manila, she watches TV in my room kaya kitang kita nya ang kalat ng room ko. Pagdating ko from the office, lagi nyang sinasabi na maglinis ako ng room, I just say yes and pag naglinis naman ako and she checks it, she'd say "Maayos na yan?". I admit na pag sya talaga ang naglinis eh malinis talaga...yung tipong maaliwalas yung dating ng room compared to when I do it. Good thing lang is she stays in the province so minsan lang nya ako napupuna.

For me, medyo off yung sagot to leave you be dahil hindi mo ugali yun. Bilang babae, we are expected to know how to keep everything neat lalo na pag magkaron na tayo ng asawa. Naiinis ako pag sinasabihan ako ng ganon pero the mother has a point. I am trying to make it a habit to clean pero minsan hindi na lang talaga nagagawa kase nagmamadali na or tinatamad.

What I do when I clean my room is to try and meet her standards. I sometimes get her approval pero kulang pa din. At least I'm trying. :)

I remember in my teens when my mom used to tell us to clean the room or the bathroom, and then when she checks it after eh hindi up to her standards, she makes us do it again. Dahil ilang beses naulit yun na pinaulit sakin, I made it a point to give 110% in cleaning it well so that she does not make me clean it again. She often say: "Do it right the first time".  And from then on up to this day (since I still live with her lol) each time I clean kapag wala si yaya, wala na siya reklamo or what, coz she can see that it is spick-and-span, at nakaka proud kaya sa sarili once you see how you were able to do a good job :D minsan nga eh binabalik balikan ko pa the place I cleaned to inspect it and give myself a pat on the shoulder  ;D..mejo matipid kasi si mama sa praises/nice comments hehe kaya wala siya sinasabi kapag okay trabaho ko...well, better than her nagging me to repeat it lol. My sister, on the other hand, never learned this lesson lol. Clutter kung clutter ang lugar, sinamahan pa ng husband nya na magulo rin, then now that they have a kid, you just can't imagine kung paano pa nag-escalate ang pagiging makalat nila  :(

So TS, maybe it is time for you to learn a much better way to clean/organize. For as long as you live with her, you will never hear the end of it. So just train yourself to do it better. It will help you rin naman eh once you live on your own and have your own family. Lalo when you have kids, mas gugulo pa lugar mo..so kung now palang eh mejo sanay ka na sa messy room, what more if you have kids and a husband? gulo gulo na yun. Kapag hindi malinis prone to allergies/sakit din and kapag magulo paligid nakakadagdag talaga siya sa stress and sabi nga nila, it's a reflection din ng personality mo. So don't see it as a negative thing. It's for your own good :) you'll thank her one day

hello TS, ganyan din mom ko, sobrang sipag sa bahay, i mean mas masipag kesa sa kin haha, kung ako every other day naglilinis, sya everyday! kaya mas madalas sya ang naglilinis ng kwarto ko.. at paulit ulit pa din nya binabanggit na maglinis ng kwarto, bata pa lang kami tuwing tinuturuan nya kami ng household chores, lagi nya sinasabi, dapat magawa nyo ng maayos yung ganito ganyan sa bahay para hindi naman nakakahiya sa magiging biyenan namin hahaha! well isa ang paglilinis sa mga not so favorite household chores ko... pag naunahan ako magwalis o mop sa kwarto ng nanay ko, i always thank her and i make up for it... ako naman maglilinis sa ibang parte ng bahay sa sala o sa CR... compromise lang.. hindi ko na sya sinasabihang hayaan na lang yung kwarto ko kasi kahit ilan beses ko din sabihin yun, hindi naman nya matitiis iwan lang ang kalat o dumi... tapos magtatampo pa yun syempre ganon talaga mga may edad na pag sinagot sagot mo pa ng ganon... pero syempre pag weekends ko lang nagagawa maglinis ng buong bahay hehe =)

nakakatuwa tong post na to kasi parang ako yung nagpost. lol. my mom is also oc, but difference is I have my own family now so marunong na rin ako maglinis myself, but yung pagka neat freak ng mom ko ay hindi ko matatapatan ever. yung minsan okay na sa akin kasi malinis na, sa kanya hindi pa kasi meron galiit na tuldok ng alikabok. I know what you're feeling, sis. we all have our own ways kung pano natin i-take ang isang bagay but i agree sa mga previous replies na hangga't nasa ilalim tayo ng bahay ng mga parents natin, kailangan natin sumunod sa mga gusto nila. :)

TS wag ka magalit sa mom. If next time tinext ka niya uit na nagaglit. Just say sorry sabihin mo magilinis ka pag-uwi.

My mom is also super OC as in super. Tapos my mom went abroad ako lang and brother ko naiwan.

Bilang babae, we are expected to know how to keep everything neat lalo na pag magkaron na tayo ng asawa.

I don't agree dahil babae Kelangan marunong magligpit/linis. Para sakin babae or lalaki, important ito. Kasi wala akong balak maging katulong ang daughter ko ng future hubby nya, and therefore I want both boy/girl to learn how to fix their room well.

Case ko naman baliktad kay TS, whenever I go to my mom's house, I try fixing her cabinets visible to my eyes. Kasi ang gulo. Kung anong last na kinuha, hindi binabalik where it is supposed to be placed. Kaso it is her house, so next time pagbalik ko, ganun ulit :(

TS, have you ever tried to be better than your mom or at least pantayan sya in terms of orderliness? pag malinis ang house, mas maaliwalas, mas masarap uwian ng family. I hope you remember this once you start your own family. Nakaka affect ng disposition if house is untidy.

My mom still cleans my room whenever she visits. I don't ask her to do it pero she just does, maybe it's her way of making bawi kasi she was an OFW for so long and last year lang sya umuwi for good. She wasn't able to physically look after me especially nung sa Manila na ko nagstay, from college til now. I just say thank you when she does things for me... Sobrang kalat ng kwarto ko pero di naman nya ko pinapagalitan with it.

Ganyan din mom ko but eventually she stopped doing it. Every now and then she asks our yaya to clean my brother's room and mine pero rare na yun. Ang problema ko when that happens kasi is I can't find my things. Pero this is me and matigas talaga ang ulo ko. Other sisses here are right, as long as you're living in your parents' house you have to live by their rules.

To TS,

Your mum maybe OC or a neat freak... pero ikaw, how messy are you? How messy is your bedroom? Is your mum OC lang ba talaga or sadyang napakadumi lang talaga ng room mo na kahit walang OCD na tao eh maoOC pag nakita?

Either way... 1. you're already a grown woman - clean up after yourself 2. you're living under your mum's roof so what she says goes. If gusto nya neat yung kwarto mo, and no matter how many times you told her to leave it as is (messy), you need to tidy up whether you like it or not.

To answer your question: no, she doesn't clean our room because she lives with hubby and me, in our own house.
