Hi mga sis, im Not sure if this is the right tread to ask regarding invites
What if most of your guest di pa naka attend ng event/wedding na may program, or pinaghandaan...
Sino ba ang makakapag control nun? Coord ba?

what do you mean sis?:)

^sis like if di sila sana sa ganon klase na wedding, tapos maiisip nila yung mga wedding na attendan nila na aalis agad, na kainan agad pag dating. Mga ganon. Haha.
Medyo paranoid lang siguro ako since papalapit na. Hahha.

ah ok sis:)

sis siguro i suggest if nasa reception nila during cocktail hours, medyo magrun through si emcee ng magiging flow ng program (e.g if nauuna si dinner then me activities pa after, ireiterate nya sa guests para aware sila sa sa mangyayari hindi mag eat and run) though un nga, di natin sila macocontrol if gusto na nila umalis.

Actually, nowadays,  it's really not that taboo to input if your preference is monetary.  You just have to put it in a way wherein it's still discreet.

Hi sis @bonzaigirl, this is my dilemma now, my brother is getting married and I'm in charge of the invitations, how do we include this request to the guests na hindi naman offensive or magmukhang pera yung couple?

Hi you guys. I read this article, about how to ask monetary gifts instead of actual gifts.
https://www.theknot.com/content/asking-for-money-wedding-gifts

I would probably be bashed around here but here's my 2pence worth.
1.  We, as the wedding couple, should really not be expecting gifts from our guests.  Their presence alone is of course already a gift to us. But .... BUT receiving gifts is of course a very nice gesture and is truly appreciated. I would be welcoming them with both arms wide open with extra bags around 😄😄😄
2.  One way of discreetly asking for gifts we really want is via a wedding registry.
3.  Given the current times, wherein couples are not the same as 50 years ago when the etiquette guidelines were made.  It is really  practical to request DISCREETLY for monetary gifts instead of any storebought  ones.
4.  Any guest who would have a problem with couples requesting monetary gifts discreetly BUT not oppose to giving store bought ones are (this is just my opinion) full of it, and not real friends of the couple.😄😄😄 This is how I see it, when you register, you go and put your names up for expensive gifts, average gifts and cheap gifts catering to the financial ability of your guests right. So what difference does it make if instead of a wedding registry, the couple just asks for money. It doesn't matter how big or small. It is not compulsary.  I don't see the difference of being registered for a P5,000 gift compared to just asking for money wherein you can just give P20, P1000, or even P500 any amount is acceptable. hehe.

By the way sorry for the long post. At the end of the day, it's our wedding. What we say goes. :)

This is a link of how to ask for monetary gifts discreetly ;) Hope this helps.

I'm echoing bonzaigirl's sentiments, especially about not expecting gifts. It's akin to housewarming parties - same as getting your own house set up, gettign married is a personal milestone and the party is just a manner of thanksgiving. I've never been to a housewarming where the homeowners requested for gifts, but there's always gonna be a first hahaha

In any case, it is difficult nga to place nicely-worded hints on bringing cash gifts na lang. I'm struggling with this as well, I would like to make it succinct as possible without being curt (we won't go for a registry). Since destination wedding kami, I'll prolly just print 'Travel light' on the invite (hehe j/k)

^ no worries sis. Glad to be of help. I'm also DIY-ing our invites and since we're based overseas, and we also already have our own things , we are not opposed to, and prefer monetary gifts. If any of our guests feel to give us any hehe

This is what i have written on our invites since we are also based overseas.

Your presence is of utmost importance
But should you wish to give us a present
We would appreciate something which we may be able to bring back to Australia.

Majority of the guests (especially Principal Sponsors) gave us monetary gifts. Some guests had their Philippine money converted to AUD (effort), we also received other currencies such as USD and SGD, received gift cards in AUD and travel vouchers. I think I owe it all to the invitation wordings we composed coz we only received like 6 gifts. Lahat nadala namin dito except sa Chicharon. Yes, we received chicharon. Kaso super bawal dito magdala ng anything pork kaya kinain nalang namin habang andun kami hahaha!

Why not try monetary gifts for your dream honeymoon? Mas okay ata yun since dun din naman napupunta yung monetary gifts after the wedding :)

Anyway, question, may nakapag pagawa na po ba dito in divisoria? Ng invites? Or halos same rate din sa mga bridal expo pag kasama 20% discount? :) kasi baka halos same rate lang so go ka nalang expo mas madali pa puntahan :/ and also, may kilala ba kayong nagpprint ng invites in a lower cost? Kahit ako na mismo mag layout? Print and cut lang sila :)

Super thanks!

Hi, sorry I don't really have time to backread na. I want to know sana if there are suppliers that are okay with creating just around 10 to 15 invitations. I am having an intimate wedding kasi so konti lang ang invitations but I really want to make it look professional since konti nalang nga ang invitees. I was also thinking of DIY nalang but I'm a sucker for quality kasi and probably won't be satisfied with my own work lol. TIA girls!

Aside from Ink Scribbler, Fozzy Book, and Sweetscapes... can anyone recommend graphic deisgners who can do invitation suite layout and monogram design? Thank you!

^ Chili i got mica samar to do our monogram. i can send you her rates if you want. her packages are sulit (i think) compared to the more popular ones but her works are good as well.

to those considering getting inkscribbler, you should know that its not always alexis ventura that's doing the projects. my friend was assigned a different artist and we were shocked when she got the first draft, sobrang layo compared to the ones posted on their ig. naging maganda naman ang kinalabasan in the end but still, i think it was just off that they didn't tell this in the beginning considering they are more expensive than other calligraphers pa naman.

Inkscribbler - 12k for invitation suite, other rates posted on their website also.
Mica Samar - she can paint in watercolor but i dont think this is your style hehe. 7.5k for invitation suite without map, map will cost extra.

Thanks sprklingjewel! Ill check out this out. But I am budgeting very little for this since I already have chosen a monogram and just need someone to digitize it for me, and do a super simple layout. Hope I find someone who can do it!

^As much as i want calligraphy and pretty thingies on my invites, I also dont have the budget for it, haha. Buti nalang my supplier can still execute a digital version, at least it wont cost me anything extra. :p Cant you have your supplier do the same? Di ba kasali design in their rate?

I have a friend in the office who does this also sideline lang. Let me know your exact requirements. :) She might be cheaper.
