The power of prayer in TTC.
« on: March 25, 2015, 10:37:31 am »
We were married for 2 years and had been ttc since then. On our 1st yr of marriage I finally succumbed to my family's plea to consult an Ob. I have been diagnosed with Bilateral PCOS and retroverted cervix. My hubby on the other hand is in tip top shape of fertility. I was advised to take Metformin 500 mg 2x a day which i religiously took everyday. On my followup check up after almost 6mos., my Ob added Clomid and duphaston to my fertility meds. After the first cycle of Clomid I was not able to take it on my next cycle due to my personal trips. On my 2nd cycle of Clomid, my husband and I were not able to do *that thing because I traveled to Cebu on my fertile window. I went to Cebu (November 2014) after my mom invited me to visit Simala (Miraculous Mother Mary of Sibonga). I prayed really hard to bless us with a child before I turn 31 this year.  My birthday,Christmas and New year had passed but my period came regularly. I just felt hopeless, but I never stopped praying. Late January, I came back to the gym, I run everyday, continued my prescribed meds Metformin, Clomid (3rd cycle) and a fertility supplement I bought from Healthy options for me and hubby. After my AF last february, hubby and I tried to do *that thing everyday. We felt tired and frustrated. I kept track of my ovulation with ovatel and ovulation predictors test. Three days before my expected period I still tested positive with my OPK. I got confused 'cause I am still ferning. Second day after i missed my period, I tested postive with my pregnancy test. I visited my OB the following day and  my blood tested positive with BHCG. I believe that all our efforts in trying to conceive must be accompanied by an honest prayer. Despite any reproductive health problems we have, always remember, our God is always there.

hi sis fabdiane, i am so moved by your story, btw congratulations for BFP! :)

It is true that an honest (and sincere) prayer can move mountains, lahat ng impossible it can be made all possible with God's grace.

We got married last November 2012 then on January of 2013, i had an ectopic pregnancy so i lost it and OB said may chance uli na maging ectopic on my next pregnancy. With all our savings drying out and our salary not enough, we finally gave up seeing the OB and resolved to live a healthy lifestyle. I also exercised, ate healthy diet, and every day i said my fervent prayer to God to please give us a child.

Fast forward, we are now parents to an almost 5 month old daughter. Next to God, she is truly our source of inspiration and happiness right now. I praise and thank our Almighty God for the supreme blessing.

Take care of yourself sis fabdiane, may you have a healthy and full term pregnancy. :)

AMEN to your posts sissies. Yes, truly, God is a miracle worker and a promise-keeper. I was inspired by your experiences and I can't wait for my own miracle to happen. To God be the glory, power, honor and praise.

thanks for sharing your inspiring stories sisses. I also have PCOS and had been in this stage. Apart from my continuous check ups, clomid cycles and monitoring, I have been religiously going to the black nazarene for my novena. I'm 5 months pregnant now with our first baby. :) keep the faith and never give up. To me pinakapowerful parin ang prayers and of course faith kay God. :)

I have never been a religious guy. But since wifey wanted a baby and i had low sperm count. I gave prayer a try. We went to st clare and padre pio every sunday for a year and i would like to believe God granted both our prayers and blessed us with a healthy baby boy last april 28. 😍

Mga sis, im encouraging you to attend mass on sat at st.pio center e.rod. sabi nila if we pray together mas powerful.. anyway its st.pio's bday on 23..

Let's just keep praying, trust lang tayo ke Papa Jesus, our miracle is on its way, baka natraffic lang..:-)

Amen! i have a friend na TTC for almost 2 years.

Finally got pregnant last December but ended in miscarriage kaya na d&c ako last January. Ngayon still hoping and praying for our miracle to come.

Very similar case here, sis. I have PCOS, Endometriosis, Retroverted Uterus, Right Ovarian Cyst (~5cm), 3 Myomas in my uterus.

Last year, my OB performed hysteroscopy to resolve my thickened uterine lining (yes on top of it all, I had this). I changed my diet - removed dairy, red meat, white rice and lessened my sugar intake. I was on 2 grams of metformin/day the entire January (prior it was 500mg per day - about 1.5 years). None of the fertility/ovulation drugs helped (Femara nor Clomid).

I took Serrapeptase and Nattokinase when I got my period in January and my OB schedule operation for March.

We took a break in "TTC" the entire February and I continued praying every night before I sleep. I asked God to bless us with a child when He knows that we are ready and when it's time.

4 days before my missed period in February, I felt so nauseous. I went to Watsons to buy chips and along with it, I bought 2 pregnancy tests. Imagine, in the office I took the test. I didn't even know why I did it -- LOL

And yes - I saw a 2nd faint line. I was shaking when I told my husband. He was soooo happy!

Now, I'm on my 28th week. We are having a boy.  ;)

If you ladies need your dose of miracle today, please let me share to you my little story (albeit just on my 6th week and still praying for a healthy full term :) )

Almost 7 weeks ago, I went to a new OB. Been married for 4 mos then and ttc for 3. I am in my early 30s so 3mos feels like forever. So I took control and decided to visit an OB for prenatal care. I specifically visited an OB with Infertility as her specialty as I don't want to waste any more time.

I came to her office asking for prenatal care. Part of her routine was an initial transV. And there it was -- PCOS, a cyst, Endometriosis, Adenomyosis and retroverted uterus. All I wanted was prenatal vitamins for this visit. But God said no. That night, iyak na lang ako ng iyak sa husband ko. The doctor decided to monitor me for the rest of this cycle. On my 3rd visit, she gave me her plan of attack. We undergo 6mos GnRH hormone therapy starting August and a laparoscopy operation to diagnose staging of my endometriosis. I prayed hard for a very confident doctor. I prayed for my doctor. Cause even if hindi ko maintindihan anong biglang nangyayari, inask ko na lang kay God na please help my doctor heal me. Use her hands to heal me. Heal me so I can welcome a child healthily.

On the 4th monitoring visit, dun pa lang nakita na nangitlog ako, not 14th day of my cycle but 22nd. Talagang sa 3 weeks na yun, healthy and I worked out. Lost almost 5 lbs. I dedicated every workout to my future baby. I dedicated every effort.

That checkup, my doctor gave me Primolut N for 5 days (pampableeding made of progesterone). This was during my 2ww. I took it for 5 days. AF is not due until another 5 days. Pero sabi ni OB, take for 5 days, expect bleeding in 3 to 7 days. So wala na 'tong cycle na to. Wait for the bleeding then injection na ng hormone therapy for 6 mos -- meaning menopause ako ng 6 mos before my operation.  tagal to TTC ulit diba?

I thanked God na dinala niya ako sa doctor na kampante ako kasi it's a big factor to be at ease with who's treating you. I thanked Him for my very supportive husband. A healthy husband.

It was the least month so to say. AF never came. The progesterone, instead of making me bleed, helped my low levels to keep a healthy uterus for my little miracle to implant. :)

God is good all the time. But it is His time. I realized that I was pressuring Him by counting the months "I" want to be pregnant. ni-let go ko yun. Sorry."

Let go and let God. Yan ang nangyari sa akin. :)

Amen to prayers!  I am the kind of person na naka plano lahat, we got married 2009 and by 2012 sabi namin this is the best year to start a family so we tried, one year walang nangyari. 2013 we began seeing our RE, all tests were done normal except I have some cysts. I had laparoscopy mid 2014 para kunin yung cysts and to check na rin if I have Endo.  Thank God wala namang endo.  Then I was on letrozole for 6 months pero wala pa rin so I stopped. 2015, sabi ko sa sarili ko matatapos na naman ang taon wala pa rin and worst is I will be turning 35 na. During those time I was praying naman but its just recently na parang I just let go.  I stopped testing ovulation, no more fertility lubes, nag stop pa nga akong mag vitamins, we didn't do the deed daily basta kung maisipan lang. Kung hindi lang ako tinakot ng doctor na IVF na kami in three months I won't take his prescribed letrozole last month.  Ang prayer ko kay God as I shared on the other thread, "God you know our desire, we want to have  a child,  Please po bigyan Nyo kami ng anak, but you're will be done, whatever sagot Nyo I will still believe YOU, I will still be here giving You praise kahit ano mangyari. But I am holding on to your promise that you will give us the desires of our hearts if we will delight ourselves in You."  Ganung context lang prayer ko lagi.  And yah, we found out I am pregnant  a week ago.  God is truly great! HCG blood tests are good, numbers are doubling. I can't wait :)  Include me in your prayers that this is going to be a healthy pregnancy.  May power talaga ang prayers.

Congrats to all of you. Its really all about God's time. Just last month i was so happy kasi na delay ako for 2 weeks i got really really excited kasi never ako na dedelay ng period kasi im religiously taking metformin everyday. Sabi ko kay God if eto na ba yun ipinagdadasal ko sa kanya sobrang dasal ko but unfortunately last aug 7 i got my period. Sobrang na depressed ako kasi talagang umaasa ako na ibinigay na talaga niya sa akin sort of nagtampo pa nga ako sa KAnYA  pero after reading your post i realize God is just testing  me. He will give what our hearts desire in His perfect time.
