Buying Preowned Car

Hi Guys,

I just would like to know what your considerations are, when buying a preowned luxury car    Buying a new one is out of the question, due to budgetary concerns, but we would like to get one. My husband's car now is already super luma na.

Recently, we inquired at CATS, but they seem to want to earn so much more than the standard rate of agents that sells second hand cars so to cut the story short, we didn't buy.

We are now looking at similar cars.  Aside from the kilometre reading, what else should we take into consideration?  We are looking at this S Class and we will be the 2nd owner if ever.

^i think ok naman bumili ng preowned luxury car, yung ibang nakikita ko na luxury cars B start ng plate number meaning imported, registered in cagayan de oro.

you can check the house of the owner kung madami siyang cars then it means hindi laspag yung auto. also bring a mechanic in checking the engine and transmission stuff like that. the thing with luxury cars is expensive ang parts and repair, plus maintenance will also drain your pocket.

^Good idea about bringing a mechanic if you don't know the owner.  Unfortunately, the owner is somehow related to the relative of my husband pala.  They did a test drive and in good condition pa daw yung Benz.  They also have bmw and porsche so i guess mahilig talaga sa luxury car.  Initially, we went to CATS kasi, so siguro if we went with that one, better to bring a mechanic kasi we don't know the owner.  Wish me luck!

^the thing with cars kasi 4yrs. old above expect na may ire-replace na diyan or masisira na kailangan ipa repair. sometimes minor lang pero kung luxury cars even minor repairs still will costs much. we have a sports car na bihira gamitin kasi hindi naman pwede ipark kung saan-saan so maselan. kahit ma gas-gasan lang yun e masakit na sa mata at bulsa. anyway goodluck sis! enjoy your new ride.

We got na the SClass and so far maganda naman ang ride.  The owner looks maingat and 30000 km palang kasi natakbo.

Kunyari 5 years na yung car, and napalitan na halos lahat ng parts niya ng bago, ok pa rin ba value niya?  Of course yung mileage would still be the same, malaki na, hahaha. Pero yung parts as in replaced na from service center, mas mataas ba dapat value niya compared sa second hand card na never pa napalitan ang parts?

Honda city ko before 9yrs not once may nasirang parts. Regular change oil lang and of course bought new set of tires. Drove nicely and very quiet pa din walang kalampag or whatsoever. The day i posted it for sale the next day sold na at fair market value.

Suv ko now 7yrs. Na bought it second hand all orig parts pa din wala pa ko pinapalitan. Regular pms sa casa.

Sa tingin ko brand ng car ang importante when reselling kasi some brands are known for their reliability and high resale value.

Ohhh. My first car is just Eon. =( Mataas mileage niya kasi sa Laguna pa bahay namin so naka 110k na siya.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Honda. Comtemplating nga if Honda next car na bibilhin namin. hehe.

^ Go for Honda. Biased ako kasi Honda oto ko, pero one reason ko why I chose Honda is mataas pa din ang resale value nya if gusto ko sya ibenta, aside sa reliable ang makina. My manager has a 20 yr old Civic LXi na gift nung college pa sya. Until now, yun pa din gamit nya, alaga lang talaga nya. 😅😅😅
