^belle_v2g, how old are your parents, if you don't mind me asking? If they're past a certain age kasi, they are required to undergo a health exam... and when I was pregnant with my daughter, my Mum applied for her visa through VIA 2.5 months before my due date. I thought that was enough time.

It took them 2 months before they approved it because there was a backlog daw sa pagreview ng medicals. And 8 weeks or longer ang timeframe na sabi sa email. I was so angry cuz had they posted that somewhere on their website, edi sana pala 4 months before my due date palang, pinagapply ko na mommy ko ng visa. But she made it here in time anyway... 6 days later, I gave birth to her first and only apo.

She was granted 3 yrs multiple entry visa with a maximum stay of 1 yr within 18 months.

Early 2016, we're going to be trying for our 2nd bubs again and this time, I know na what to do. 4 months before talaga, magapply na! Timing din cuz her visa expires August 2016.

Sa mom ko inabot ng 1 month. lodged  it online  last July then Aug na approved. Next monrh pa ang byahe niya.

Sis gumdrops, thanks for the additional info. Dad is 65, mum is 55. Sige i will apply earlier para sure. My friend's parents kasi and in-laws mas matanda pa sa parents ko pero they just submitted a medical clearnce from their doctor along with their application daw. Gusto ko yung 3 yrs visa for my mum! Gosh that will help a lot esp with child care costs. Anong visa yun sis?

^just the normal tourist visa (subclass 600). She included in her application a letter from me stating why I'd like her to visit (yun nga kasi manganganak ako), that she'll stay with me the whole time, my payslips, letter from our HR, pati na rin copy of our mortgage repayments (to prove na may bahay kaming titirhan lol) and also a letter from my OB. My kuya and his wife also provided their payslips and written declaration na they'll (also) be fully responsible for all her needs while she was here.

Visitor visas for parents of Australians

Due to the length of the permanent Parent (Migrant) visa (subclass 103) queue, and the desirability of family reunion, we might grant a more generous Visitor visa. You will be considered for this if you request a length of stay in Australia of up to 12 months and you identify yourself as a parent or step-parent of:

-an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
-an eligible New Zealand citizen.   

We will consider these applications on a case-by-case basis. We can grant visas that last up to:

1. five years for parents outside Australia who are in the Parent (Migrant) visa (subclass 103) queue
2. three years for parents outside Australia who have had a previous Australian visa and complied with the visa conditions, and either:
        - have not applied for a Parent visa
        - have applied for a Parent visa (subclass 103) but are not yet in the Parent visa queue
3. 18 months for parents who have not previously travelled to Australia and either:
        - have not applied for a Parent visa
        - have applied for a Parent visa (subclass 103) but are not yet in the Parent visa queue.

the bit I italicised, that's the condition she satisfied. And yes, definitely savings yan sa childcare costs... and my Mum, malaking tulong talaga! Aside from helping out when maliit pa si baby (pag hilo na ako sa puyat, she would wake up early and let me have that 3 hour block of sleep. Masaya na ako sa 3 hours uninterrupted sleep nun ), ngayon na our daughter goes to preschool 2x a week, paguwi namin, nakaluto na sya, naglaundry, nagsampay, naglinis etc etc. Napakalaking tulong talaga and I'm so grateful for my mum!

Sis belle_v2g one year  multiple entry  binigay sa nanay ko. 3 mos eacb stay.first time applicant.
Yung sa nanay ng friend ko naman 6 mos straight  binigay first time din mag apply but 2 yrs ago pa  yun.

Hello. Meron bang limit ang pwedeng dalhin na baby formula sa check in at hand carry? We will go to Melbourne via PAL and I am not sure kasi. I have read na pwede naman ang formula, I just don't know kung meron limit, planning to hand carry yung smallest can (400g) of my baby's milk. I thought of posting this on another thread but because of our destination kaya I decided na here na lang.

my aunt lives there sa victoria, kaso we are thinking of visiting a friend in sydney. ok lang ba if my aunt send me the invitation pero we stay at sidney? or kelangan yung friend from sidney ang mag-invite? thanks

Planning to go here for vacation. Medyo mabusisi pala ang visa application. Sana ma approve kami ni hubby dito..

On the contrary I found the visa application here the easiest. I did everything online, all documents I submitted were just scanned (no certification), visa payment was by credit card. Then I only had to wait two weeks before I received my visa grant. I applied in Oct 2014 and was given a one-year multiple entry visa. This was my first AU visa.

^I did. There's a portion in the application form that asks for the dates of your intended visits. Naglagay lang ako ng mga dummy dates with reason for the visits. I also mentioned that there will be a number of opportunities for me to travel there with my hubby who flies to SYD regularly.

Surprisingly, paper application since last week is just 3 days processing.

Nakakaloka lang kasi last month inabot ng 1 month and 2 weeks yung visa application ng boss ko, kaya i tried using the online application para sa tatay ko sa pag aakala kong mas mabilis. Haisst!

my friend personally lodged his application at vfs office in makati and got his visa after 3 days.
