Sisses.. based on our experience.. I would advise na isama ang plus 1 ng guests because most of the time eto yung reason kung bakit hindi sila nakakaattend--dahil wala silang makakasama. Last minute yan madaming magbabackout sa guests na nag confirm.. even day before..guest list is directly proportional to sakit ng ulo talaga..

^ belle_v2g, sorry to hear that some of your guests did that at your wedding. Personally, though, I would feel hurt if a good friend I invited decided not to show up dahil lang wala siyang kasama. My assumption here is that you invite groups of friends so that everyone is comfortable. (Plus we go through the headache of seating assignments!) So I don't really understand why they wouldn't go without a "plus one" unless the entire table backed out? :(

I already made it clear (in a casual tone) to some friends that at this point in time, I can't invite their plus ones (these are officemates whose SIs I'm not close to/haven't met).

How do you tell your bridesmaids that you want their gown to be different than yours? I let them choose their own styles kasi.

Yes, they can choose their own style but limit the choices. Magpakita ka nalang sa kanila ng several styles na pwede gawing pattern for their dresses. Sabihin mo yan lang yung pede maging style, the purpose is, para kahit pano, medyo pare-pareho pa rin ang dress entourage mo. This strategy worked to my friend's wedding. :)

Sis reese17, you know what sis.. some of them pa nga, I even sent a screenshot of the table arrangements/seat plan so they'll know lang na kilala nila ang mga katabi nila.. at mafeel nila na talagang pinaghandaan namin..hubby and I spent hours and hours organising the seat plan.kase ayaw namin na may feeling alone sa guests. But every time na may mag back out, syempre revise again. May isang table ako na 4 yata nag back out so I had to re-do the tables. I totally let go of the guest list the afternoon lang before the wedding.. We've invited our other friends na hindi initially kasama sa list.. at surprisingly nakapunta naman.. so I owe them a lot.. yun talaga ang downside ng weekday wedding. They confirm but dont show up.. (how rude no!) we didn't let them know na back up list yung last minute invitees para di nila mafeel na 2nd choice sila kase if we have more than enough we'll still invite them naman.

^ grabe naman yun sis belle, kailangan pa ng screenshot? ive heard so many horror stories (horror talaga! lol) about guest lists and seating charts and its not just from weekday weddings, it happens on all weddings i think. im worried tuloy kasi im also planning on not giving plus ones to some of my friends and officemates, lalo na yung never ko pa na-meet yung partners nila. i thought its just reasonable but i guess its really hard to predict yung pagiisip ng ibang tao.

number 1 problem din namin ang guest list. my husband was awake until 11pm the night before the wedding because he's arranging our guest list and table arrangement. ang dami kasi nag back out the day before the wedding! weekend wedding kami ha. tapos sa actual wedding makikita mo may mga table na 3 lang tao 4 or 5.

Sis shygirlme.. relate! Yung mga nag back out day before I didn't reply na lang kase tumataas BP ko sa kanila. 203 came out of 230 reserved.. so far happy ako sa naging outcome.

hay. natetempt ako magalit over text pero sa sunday na lang siguro pag pinick-up na namin yung damit.
hay naku lang talaga. it's a minor thing pero yung text kase ni ate ang bumuluga saken paggising uminit tuloy dugo ko. argh.

We're also having problems with the guest list. Any suggestions on how to deal with guests wanting to bring their kids? Some of our groomsmen and bridesmaids are married with kids. The initial plan was just to invite their partners. When we sent the Save The Date, some of them hinted that they're bringing their kids.

Nakakadismaya.

sis clairetez about church coordinators, be wary na din about some of the church coordinators kase may experience kami dati na e-epal talaga silang during the bridal march.  And sa Wedding Suppliers FB page, someone posted a rant about church coordinators na panira sa video because they are literally in the middle of the aisle commanding everyone :/ Nakaharang sila sa view ng videographers :(  If you're really not planning on bringing your wedding coordinator sa church, maybe have someone to watch over the church coordinator to make sure na hindi maging mashadong mapapel :-D

^bakit nakakahiya sa friends ng parents mo? naku sis talked to them and tell them kayo ni fiance mo gagastos. kami nung namanhikan husband ko, sinabi namin na kami gagastos. bilang lang ang invited. ayaw namin madami iinvite at lalong ayaw namin mag invite na hindi kilala ng both sides at walang kinalaman sa love story namin. naintindihan naman nila. we respect our parents pero we are happy nirespect nila decision namin since we really want na yung mga nasa wedding namin is kilala namin. sabi nga namin hindi naman fiesta kasal namin. try to talked to them sis maiintindihan ka naman nila.

Naku sis sad to hear this. We also patahi in baclaran but so far eh very smooth ang transaction namin sa kanila. This is one thing about getting "them" , they thought makakaisa sila sa iyo at magiging no choice ka, nag iisip sila ng ways pano sila kikita. Maling paraan pa. pano natin sila irerecommend hindi ba? Dinadala nila customer. I suggest you tell them na magstick sa pinag usapan. Do you have contract ba? Kami kasi noon wala e. Actually yung resibo na bigay nila sa min walang OR number nor TIN. Tell them na kung hindi sila tutupad, seek for a refund. Hindi yung sila masusunod. Kakaloka yan sis!

This scenario naman sis is awkward. Sila mag iinvite tapos kayo gagastos? Kasal ninyo yan eh, kayo masusunod sino you want to be there. Our parents may invite their friends but sabihin nalang natin na minimal. We want the day to be "intimate" and yes, tama si sis shygirlme na "hindi kasalang barangay or fiesta". If his parents will be paying a portion of your wedding, baka pwde pa ikonsider yung "hiya", o sige andun na tayo na proud sila sa kasalan ninyo, pero kung hindi, tell them in a nice way nalang sis. Grand nga ang wedding ninyo, broke and zero naman kayo on day 1 bilang mag asawa dahil gusto nila ng "bongga". you dont need to please your parent's friends. Antayin nila na mag renewal of vows ang parents mo. hehe. Just my POV sis.  ;)

talk about having a wedding for all the wrong reasons - making it grand for the sake of what other people will say. i think you can tell your aunt that a wedding is a celebration of love, not a platform to show off how much money a couple has. it seems like it's just your aunt who's making a fuss so maybe you can just ignore her ;)

hi f878, that's right, don't stress yourself about it anymore but maybe you can tell your mananahi you won't recommend her to anyone because of this.

Naging problem din naming yung guestlist. Until the day itself, marami pa ring hindi nagcoconfirm if punta or not. And totoo palang may mga nagconfirm na who won't show up after all. There was a table tuloy na 3 lang laman, kainis lang tignan haha.

And we wanted to do a lot of DIY decors na we ended up not finishing kasi wala nang time. If kaya naman, I'd recommend not to do DIY stuff na haha sumakit lang ulo namin!

Nako sis, eto masasabi ko.
Wedding is a celebration of vows, not a mere event show off. Good thing, na-inform nyo ang yung mga elder relatives nyo at the very early stage of planning. Atleast, alam nyong may mga balak pala silang i-invite. Talk to them in a very nice way na you wanted a wedding with the people who have been part of your love story or who have known the two of you so well.

Don't be pressured sis. Basta you know what you want on your wedding day, stick with it. I admire couples for truly knowing what their wedding is for, and for not getting brainwashed and pressured by others, by not merely joining the bandwagon. :)
