^hahaha sis, super sama rin namin ni h2b. Ganyan din naiisip namin. Yun venue kasi namin can comfortably accommodate only up to 75 pax.

My problem is, its hard for me to let go of an old dream... my first love...

Now that the date of my wedding is coming closer, I cannot explain what I am feeling. But certainly, I feel sad because it means closing finally the door to my dream of becoming a Priest. For the past years I’ve aligned and prepared myself to becoming a Priest. And i’ve been trying to picture what kind of priest Im gonna be. I wanted to be in the traditional vestments and I admire the solemnity of the Old Mass.

Unfortunately, I never had the support and encouragement of my family. They all wanted me to be someone else. It was my constant prayer, and its the sign i’ve been asking from God that should there be one in my family who would say “go ahead” then I will willingly leave the world and all its properties behind and devout myself to serving God and His people. Unfortunately there was no sign, instead I met my gf and soon to be wife. I met another priest who get me involved in many missionary works but mainly political and human rights. Same Priest will officiate our marriage.
I pray that, this is indeed the will of God and this is what God wants me to do, so be it, I will follow with all my heart. If He wills that I would make better for a Father of a house that a parish father, so be it, thy will be done.

I love my gf no doubt... Help me pray that I will make for a good hubby... 

^^^Yup may roof yun veranda. Meron kasi garden sa ibaba nung venue namin kaya may veranda outside the main restaurant.

wala pa kaming problem sa guest list.. dahil wala pa kaming final guest list! lol. we will be finalizing my side of the guest list and then iko-consult namin sa parents ko. sana wala silang violent reactions dahil ang totoo lang, out of our 100 estimated guests around 70 ang sa akin. nahihiya ako kay partner tuloy since i know na gusto nya invitin buong opisina nila lol.

another concern is... our wedding music. last year super nagustuhan ko yung isang band na i booked them right away. but then thinking of how we really want our wedding to turn out, and as suggested by our emcee, parang better talaga kung mag-hire ng DJ instead of a band. i am confused... lol.

Tinanggap niyo o pinaulit sa kanila? Actually, hindi nga ganon kaganda kahit displays nila :-\

sis simang checkout the latest post of DTS sa wedding tip sheet. she had a lenghty input about musicians for weddings. im still torn about getting a choir, strings and/or band for church and reception. we're sure of not getting a dj.

mga sis. ilang oras ang gap ng end of ceremony and start ng reception program, i was planning to have 1.5 hr gap may mga nuts, nachos , cookies, candy buffet to open after 30 mins at photobooth. I was told masyado pa rin daw mahaba at i might need to open the soup and salad bar...medyo ayoko yata iopen ang part na yun kasi magkakagulo lalo :(

One of my problems right now is trimming down the guest list because the venue for our ceremony (Enderun's Atrium) can only hold 160 guests! It's hard to say no to relatives since both of us come from big clans and people are really close to one another. :-\

So to manage that, I'm thinking...

A) Rent out half of the restaurant at Enderun which overlooks the Atrium (there are tall window panes so people will still see what's happening) but this will cost me a non-consumable fee of Php 10k (!!!) and I also need to think about extending the sound system to that room plus possible video feed pa.

B) Move my ceremony to the garden but I'll need to pay for the extra chairs plus baka umulan! October is typhoon season :( Kung hindi umulan, mainit naman.

C) Stay in the Atrium, standing room only for guests who are late

Right now nasa 300pax yung guest list namin and we're trying to cut it down to 250-275 but even with that number, hindi pa rin sila kasya sa Atrium. :o My fiance told me na hindi naman lahat ng guests pumupunta sa ceremony but I find that odd/rude especially since our wedding falls on a Sunday afternoon. (Kung weekday, maiintindihan ko pa kasi people have work) Can anyone here share from personal experience if this is true?

^^^ for me max na ang 1hr. The last wedding I attended 2 hrs kami pinaghintay, even with all the food and photobooth nakakainip pa rin.

sis reese17 if for ceremony only, i think standing is okay kung sobra lang ng 50 guests or less. kumbaga that's what they get for coming late. pero i can't imagine 100-150 guests standing during the ceremony. if i was a guest, medyo badtrip yun sis lalo na if i came early naman pero wala lang talaga seats available. over 1 hour nakatayo, sana i went straight to the reception na lang kung ganun. but that's just me :) have you considered not inviting everyone to the ceremony? parang heart and chiz, bianca and jc intal, not same level pero same idea. intimate ceremony then bonggang reception party.  ;D

i think manageable yung option A and B but you really have to spend more. like if you push for a garden ceremony, you can rent tents, rent yung big fans or aircon, upgrade sound system, etc.

Hi sis!!! Thanks. I checked this out last time. We already have a choir for the mass. For the reception i considered getting a DJ kase we wanted a lively afterparty. But then having a live music sa reception, iba pa din ang feel. Mas engaging, imo. Kaya i'm still confused lol!

Sis angelholics, may i know sinong DJ yun?

^^ bzbee, thanks for your thoughts sis. I was a guest before at a wedding where the venue for the ceremony was so small and there was an overflow room with a video feed of the event. May aircon naman and enough seats pero medyo impersonal nga yung dating. So that's another reason why I'm not too keen on option A.

RE not inviting everyone to the ceremony: hmm, something I need to discuss with my fiance. I wish I could do this!

I might explore the possibility of getting renting a tent nalang for the garden wedding. At least there's shade and I could get coolers also. Will see. I have another ocular with my AE and stylist next month... fingers crossed!

Hi reese17, in my opinion one of the reasons some guests go straight to the reception is either pag tamad sila to go to both venues kung magkalayo/ traffic and it will mean they have to prepare earlier. In your case same venue kasi ceremony and reception so if i were your guest pupuntahan ko na both. Also, the people who do this are typically the ones who are not so close to the couple kaya mas di nahihiya na sa kainan nalang pupunta. But agree with you, you have to be more prepared for it given your situation. Baka at least 60-75% of your total guests nasa ceremony. And agree with above, only reason it will be acceptable for me to stand is if im late. If im there on time i would expect to have a seat. Mura na 10k rent ah! medyo weird lang yung resto if overlooking kasi wala ka sa place where the action is. Maybe better na yung garden, just get a tent.

Im expecting na for me less people sa church (Tagaytay) than reception after in Silang kasi Silang is very near Manila and yung iba dun nalang sisipot if tamad to go all the way to Tagaytay due to the traffic. Still, for the snacks we will hand out after we'll be prepared with maybe 75% of the guest count.

My problems now---

1. I booked a bride + 2 package from my HMUA (not so cheap) and my MIL suddenly wants to bring in her own--- so i need to use the extra slot on one of my ninangs nalang siguro. While i partly understand she wants to look pretty and wants to get an HMUA na gamay na face nya... as if naman sablay yung HMUA na kinuha ko! I bet Eds will even perform better.

2. The same MIL wants to start having her gown made already. FYI, it is 9 months before the wedding and hindi pa nga ako decided where to get the ento gowns, but i want na same gagawa para hindi mismatch esp the two moms. Ayoko na may inferior sa kanila as i've seen weddings where naginarte yung isang mom and nagpagawa somewhere else and ang result is the other one looks kawawa. And  she wants to have hers made na even if we havent picked out an exact color yet. STRESS. Can't she wait for me to pick it out? Anlayo layo pa ng wedding eh! Kahit ako nga 6 months before pa ako papasukat.

Can't MILs set aside their quirks first??? Hindi naman sila yung kakasalin and it's causing ME stress. I really love my MIL but the kaartehan is starting to get on my nerves! Sorry just ranting. :))

^ sparklingjewel, yup 10k is reasonable naman but I have to factor in the live video feed or at the very least extend the sound system. Hmm. I consulted a friend of mine who got married last year at Crowne Plaza. They had 700 guests but the function room reserved for the ceremony could only accommodate 200 pax daw. So most of the guests really stood up.

Will discuss this extensively nalang with my AE. Enderun's courtyard is pretty naman. Maarte lang ako about the heat kaya gusto ko aircon! :P

Re MIL problems -- I can relate although the quirks on my side are a bit different. Why not use your HMUA nalang for your MoH? Idk if it was wrong of me not to include my MIL in my HMUA package but I assumed she may want to book her own esp since my fiance has 2 sisters also.

On the gown, ask your fiance to talk to his mom nalang. She's probably just excited. Same with my MIL - she actually asked for a design that's more bongga than mine or my mom's, hehe. :)
