Hayyyy our current wedding issue is our guest list. We wanna keep the head count to a max of 200pax. Pero I am already getting frustrated with H2B!!!!! We were supposed to fix the guest list over the Holy Week Break. But h2b is having difficulty streamlining and downsizing his side of the guest list! hehe I guess it is because h2b is such a nice and friendly guy, and has a lot of friends and feels bad to leave some people out. Heheh not like me, I really put my foot down and down mind cutting out some friends or kabarkadas I havent seen in years!! Di ma get ni h2b that iba na ang weddings ngayon, you dont have to invite the entire barangay!!

^ oh, i hear you!

i think i posted it here before na naging concern din namin ito. Gusto nya lahat ng friends from HS, college, MBA, 1st work, 2nd /3rd work may representative! Baka daw kasi may magtampo. Sheesh. We initially wanted a small wedding (as in 80pax max) but now we settled on 120. Sagad na! I swear hindi ako susulpot pag mas madami pa dyan! At take note, sa 120pax na yan, 40pax lang ang invitees ko.

I feel you guys! But my problem is not with the fiancé, but with my parents! They want to invite everybody. Due to constraints in the venue itself (we want to use the glass pavilion which can only hold max 200 guests), we capped our guests at 200, but I'm still hoping to trim it down to 180 so seating will be more comfortable. Pero my parents keep adding, revising the guest list! Pinapagalitan pa ako because I'm not flexible daw. Nasabi ko na lang, I am flexible, but the venue is not. Ang kulit nila, I swear! To think we have 2nd (his side) and 3rd (our side) celebrations pa sa lagay na yan ha!

I was telling fiancé kahapon that if I can only turn back time, I would opt for a more intimate affair. Kung pwede nga, secret wedding na lang! hehe! Peg ko ang wedding ni Kitchie which was very intimate.

Good luck to all of us and our guest list woes! Hopefully maayos sooner ang inyo.  ;D Sa amin, we will be getting our invitations tom and yet we are still dealing/arguing about our guest list! Hahaha :o

25% of my husband's guest list are head pastors from several churches.  I haven't met them yet & i don't even know them personally.. these are the guest list woes you encounter if you are marrying a bishop's son with a big family,  church brethren and friends.. 70% of the guests are from hubby's side. can't wait til we do the rsvp and see who's really attending. we only booked for 200 pax, but upon seeing our list last night, I think i wouldn't want to do the count any more. tapos in the end you realised you haven't included the people you actually know.

^homaygaad, hearing all your woes, medyo scary ang di pagsulpot ng bisita haha. we booked 150 pax sa caterer and target kong 140 max lang ang iinvite para pag me biglaang plus one ang 10 sa kanila. now i am thinking if i should close it to 150 na lang since not everyone naman might attend.

^Maybe you can invite a little over 150 since not everybody will be attending :) They tell me it's plus/minus 10%. I think 160 is still a safe number for you.

Just a suggestion sis. Why not do an initial RSVP so you can already weed out those who won't attend? We did that using our FB event page. We already removed those who didn't respond at all. From the original 250 guests, we were able to purge our list to 205. Hehe. Hoping to trim it down further after the final RSVP! *crossing my fingers and my toes* Hehe

^^Yes, sis yannuh. Bale what we did was initial RSVP using FB event then we're only giving invitations to those who responded. Tapos RSVP ulit a month before the wedding to get the final count.

We would post on our FB event every week or every other week just so it would pop on our friends' and relatives' FB pages. In fairness, there were really those who responded. Pero siyempre be flexible din. Not all would "join" lalo na the friends of our parents. Hehe. Pero at least it served its purpose. We were able to remove guests whom we think won't attend. Sayang din ang time and effort to give them invitations! Hahaha  ;D

^Sis belle, pag matanda talaga, they don't! Hahaha. Pero at least sa friends namin, we were able to remove those whom we think won't make it. Collating contact details din sakit ng ulo kay fiancé's side. I have all the contact details from my side kasi. Ask your parents and his parents to help sis. Lalo na your hubby's parents since sila maraming guests diba? Mom ni fiancé ang mag-RSVP for their family friends. No choice ako but to accept and hope for the best! Haha

you can also ask your OTD to help you do the RSVP. my OTD coordinator, Styled Celebrations by Kits Diaz, was a big help. Kits provided the RSVP service for free.:) malaking tulong kasi hindi ka makakagawa ng final guest list at seating arrangement until malaman mo sino nag RSVP.

ako ginawa ko ako na nagtanong isa isa. minsan kasi yun otd 1 round of rsvp lang. hindi ko na pinagawa rsvp sa otd ko kasi more on fb kasi communication ko sa mga guests ko.

my OTD did 2 rounds. she even called those who did not reply via text. depende siguro sa coordinator.

Agree with the +/- on the wedding day. We booked 150 pax sa caterer and we invited 180 guests because I knew na may mga magdedecline pa near the wedding day. We didn't create an fb page/event. Based on my brother's experience during his wedding, yung mga nagconfirm as "going" sa FB event hindi naman talaga pumunta sa event. What we did is send a save the date picture, paisa-isa. So dun pa lang may naweed out na guests. Then yung RSVP one to two weeks (even three days!) before wedding inaasikaso pa namin. So before the wedding, mga 148 ang confirmed. Actual turnout during wedding day nasa 136 pax. Happy na din ako dun, at least napakain sa suppliers yung extra food. :D

Ms. Darlene has tips sa wedding tip sheet sa FB on how to control and manage the guest list and RSVP. Be sure to ask na lang din if your guests will attend either/both the ceremony and reception.

^ sis question, nung pinakain mo sa buffet yung suppliers mo, did your caterer refund the payment for the crew meals? or take home na lang ito?

^depends sis. kasi mas malaki family ko kaya parang 60-40 ang hatian ng guests namin. Basta ensure lang na aware si H2B sa mga nilagay mo sa guest list at may agreement kayung iinvite talaga sila para oks lang:)
