Fireworks on your wedding

@chili, I'm not sure how much fireworks cost today, but it seems the quote is a bit expensive. But if you really want it, then go for it. Pero if you only like it to make p/v nicer, it may not be worth it. I've seen several SDEs with fireworks display so it won't make a big impact on me and it won't give value for my money. This is just my take on that. Decide na lang based on what you really want. Anyway, ang lapit na pala ng wedding mo!! Hope you're enjoying the remainder of your preps despite all the stress!

Thanks for the advice caleeice!! =) I am still deciding on it. I guess I'll go for it if I have extra budget, depending on how many guests will confirm hehe Anyway I can tell the venue even 1 week ahead lang.

Joining this thread, I just want a fountain for my wedding kasabay ng first dance namin ni h2b. Indoor yung venue namin so I searched anong pwede and found indoor fountain from dragon fireworks. It costs 4,500k daw for 2 fountains, around 20 secs. Baka may alam kayong cheaper or reasonable naman na yung price nila?

j.adore, ayi0119: I know super mahal! It used to be 35k but now 40k na due to the increase in permit with the barangay =( Eh 25k lang the upgraded 2-3 min package if I got it straight from Dragon Fireworks.

But anyway, pumayag na my fiance with the fireworks because medyo under budget pa kami hehe And also our honeymoon budget has been set aside na.  BUT I might still cancel it because of scheduling issues. The fireworks are supposed to be for our grand entrance, and we will enter the reception venue from the side facing an open field. However, since its summer around 7pm pa bago dumilim. I am worried baka super bored na our guests. Even if we will be serving a lot of cocktail food, parang ang tagal lang ng 2 hour cocktail time!!

Has anyone had experience with having a grand entrance at 7pm while ceremony was at 3pm? Did your guests get bored and impatient? Is this a normal time frame? Thank you!

@chili: a 2 hour cocktail hour is quite long. Especially outdoors, because of the heat. Would you be able to start it later at 5:30 or 6:00pm? It would be difficult for people to stand around for 2 hours in heels. I've been to long cocktail hours before, and my feet were killing me! haha. I feel like they should be 1-1.5 hours max.

If you start cocktails later, at least people will have the option to go somewhere else to eat and rest first, before heading to your venue. Most (Chinese) weddings have a gap between ceremony and cocktails/reception anyway, so I don't think it will be a big deal. People will either go home to rest or stop somewhere to eat and kill time.

Thank you for the advice Stella!! =) Yup 2 hours seem too long. I suppose the cocktails can start a bit later at 5:30 pm. Also, the venue will be setting up a lot of tables and chairs for cocktails, aside from standing cocktail tables. You're right! I hate standing around the entire time during cocktails. Ill also have a portion of the main lounge open and setup with tables, so that there is an airconditioned area. But you're right. I should advice the guests attending that the dinner reception will start at 7pm so they have the option to go somewhere else first. Some can even go home first because they live very near our reception venue.

Looks like the fireworks is a go for us. My coordinator said that it can be done, to have fireworks by 7pm then dinner is served at 7:30 pm. This includes welcome remarks, a quick 1st dance, a 2 min OBB, a quick cake cutting, and prayer before meals. We don't have a choreographed 1st dance so it will be only 1 minute long. Welcome remarks and prayer before meals will just be a few sentences. =)

@chili: It's good that you'll be providing a lot of seats and access to an airconditioned area. I think your guests will appreciate that. Especially the older ones!

just FYI -- my coordinator advised me that if I want to indicate the start time of the reception, I should say it starts 30min ahead, because elderly guests will show up an hour late, haha. So maybe tell them 6:30pm :p

I've been to two weddings where after some cocktail and short opening remarks inside the hall, the host asked us to go for fireworks then back to the hall again for the continuation of the program. Looking back, the schedule looks weird but I didnt feel hassled naman during those times. Probably because the fireworks were spectacular and in one of the weddings, the couple did their first dance outside with the fireworks as finale. And also, you just wanna follow instructions for the couple.

We considered this but decided against it din. First, hindi na ata basta basta pwede mag pa-fireworks anywhere. The venue of our wedding is surrounded by subdivision so kailangan ng permit. Then the venue itself may accredited suppliers lang (Dragon Fireworks). Maganda naman yung fireworks nila but expensive talaga. We thought about it, this amount of money for 2 minutes lang or we?ll just save it or pay it towards another supplier hehe!

Isa pa palang kailangan dito eh dapat malaki yung lugar..
Sa napuntahan namin kamakailan lang, dun sa parking ginawa tapos bumagsak yung mga dumi ng fireworks sa mga kotse ng guests (yung mga 1 inches above na carton shells). Siyempre medyo kinabahan yung iba.
Tapos grabe sa lakas ng tunog hahaha nagsisiksikan yung mga guests palayo!

Pero maganda naman yung display mismo
