Actually sis, adding yellow in my motif will make it look like the Philippine flag. Haha! Though it complements the other colors, I'm trying to stay away from it. As much as possible I'm sticking to those 3.

would you consider going nautical?

the navy blue and coral colors go very well with a nautical wedding - as in the ships and sails kind of vibe. think of yachts and the marina and a very preppy look. think of stripes and patterns of anchors and ropes. you can hang paper boats in navy blue and coral colors as your backdrop or as your photobooth backdrop. feature giant navy blue paper boats for your table centerpieces, add some gold rope and anchors. bridesmaids' dresses with voluminous bold navy blue and white striped skirts.

or you can just go all out romantic - coral colored flowers in navy blue vases of different shapes and sizes and highlight with gold accent pieces (can be lanterns, lamps, figurines - this really depends on your interests as a couple) - simple but elegant. make your backdrop dramatic by making it a bold navy blue color and then have your names painted on it in giant calligraphy either in coral or gold or both like the coral writing lined with gold. your entourage can wear soft, flowy navy blue dresses and have them hold coral-colored bouquets. you can even hang navy blue and coral colored lanterns from the center of the ceiling in various shapes and sizes.

nailed it sis! haha! was just about to ask you guys! Anyway we already bought the paper maché anchor and ship steering wheel in Divi. Its about 12 inches. Don't know if we will paint it or use moshi tapes to cover it. What do you think?

We also bought a treasure chest (still in Divi) wherein we will place the rings! haha! Will buy another one or more for the arrhae. Was also thinking if we can use it as table centerpiece but it will be costly. My idea is to place gold chocolate coins, shells and pearls inside then leave it open, ala pirate style. Hihi.

Saw candle lighthouses there too. I was drooling to buy it na, maybe next time! XD

Just want to share, instead of having our female entou wear gowns, I asked them if a navy style (the one with a navy necktie) navy blue dress paired with a red peep-toe wedge shoe would be OK. Thankfully, they all liked and wanted it so bad!  <3 Their bouquets will also be in red. Yiiii! So excited to see it! Hihi!

We love taking walks and being couch potatoes. Does that count? We love singing, even though we don't always know the songs the other sings. We love being corny and making stupid arguments We really really do. Maybe we should go for a popcorn-corny-type theme? Does that even make sense, or baka naman kaming dalawa lang ang matawa?

yellow brings to my mind coldplay, birds, the yellow brick road, legos, stars, sunflowers, lemons, mangoes. maybe you can pick an item that could be a motif like stars or sunflowers or, if you want to be adventurous, lemons. then build your decor around that.

for example, if you use sunflowers as your motif then use sunflowers as the only flowers for the wedding. have a sunflower wall as your backdrop. feature sunflowers in tall thin vases as table centerpieces. you can even try hanging them from the ceiling as a more modern take on the wisteria hanging flower arrangement. your entourage can bring single sunflower stems instead of posies. you can even have a sunflower bouquet. feature sunflowers on your stationery.

LingMVL, why not build a theme around your love for taking walks together? After all, the walk down the aisle is one of the biggest walks you'll take. Hehe

Do you have a favourite spot/place for your walks, or a favourite season? If it's a park, for example, you could bring in a park bench for your photobooth or backdrop; have a cute sign that says "our road begins here". You could use yellow lanterns in your centrepieces, or if you're having rectangular tables, build 'paths' down the centre of each table with flower petals. If you have a bunch of favourite spots, why not name each table after a different one?

I love the Wizard of Oz and we can maybe incorporate the idea of the yellow brick road into our love for taking walks I love it!

Actually, gusto ko na nga rin isama yung popcorny theme, ahahaha. Corny ba? Thinking about putting brown paper bags with caramel corn at the registration table (or something like it) as a twist to the candy buffet trend. Maybe we can stamp the brown paper bags with some words about walking down a new road or something?

LingMVL, when I saw nga 120515's post I thought the yellow brick road would be perfect If you do rectangular containers in various shades of yellow for your centerpieces you'd get a really pretty ombre "yellow brick" effect!

Maybe you can stamp "a snack for the road" on your popcorn bags -- and have a "thanks for taking this walk with us" sign on the table? Doubles as a cute favour, too

sis LingMVL, how about using the yellow brick road pattern as your "aisle" during reception leading towards the front of the stage where you can probably have your bench or lamp post? at least this also address your love for books and maybe movies as well? probably you can also incorporate other elements from a few movies to reflect your "yellow" theme like notting hill maybe (the park bench)? since he likes sports, any chance that's an outdoor sport? kasi if yess maybe you can also include qoutes from movies about sports into your popcorn bags.

xsugar, that's a really classic looking venue! I'd probably play up the marble and wrought iron; maybe go for a Victorian or storybook theme? Peach and coral roses everywhere in crystal vases and bell jars, gold-rimmed plates with navy blue napkins, candlesticks, sheet music and skeleton keys. Maybe gold animals or antique clocks for a little bit of whimsy?

Okay...so despite all the fabulous ideas from sevenstars, rightback, and 120515 h2b was not very enthusiastic about it.

On the bright side, it looks like we found ourselves a new theme - sci-fi fantasy…Star Wars vs. Lord of the Rings! Yun nga lang, how to tie it up with the colour yellow. Sayang lang din yung idea of the yellow brick road and popcorn. Gusto ko pa naman sila.

hmmmm...this is tricky. although i'm thinking a mix of elvish elements (medyo foresty) and a bit of the romance (anakin and padme's wedding)? i think i need to watch both films again. so kung medyo foresty yung dating, you can easily add in yellow flowers in glass orbs. kaso mas distinct talaga yung futuristic elements for star wars. for your rings though, the one ring na agad. not sure lang who can pull off engraving it in elvish. we tried asking before and medyo tinaasan lang kami ng kilay.

hmmm...i think if you introduce metallic gold and silver into your palette you'll get a nice balance for both fandoms...how about incorporating your favorite quotes from both and feature them as your centerpieces? like stars wars' famous "i love you. i know." quote and do it in gold calligraphy with a background of stars. frame them in nice gold frames. use gilded silver vases to hold yellow flowers - think of how galadriel's crown is shaped or even the eleven swords in the movie, which are silver and introduce these elements in the to the tablecenterpieces.

you can still use popcorn as your wedding favor by putting them in metallic gold and/or silver cans.

use the elven script as the basis for all the calligraphy in your stationery.

you can assign table names instead of numbers and use the various places/planets in the books/movies like the shire, tatooine, etc.

use gilded metallic boxes to hold your rings or arrhae.

make the bridesmaids' dresses all nice and flowy - ethereal like the elves.
