Awwww.. Sis peachlipstick, ako din I really want a harry potter wedding. Kaso sabi ni h2b ikasal daw ako sa sarili ko! Hahaha.. He is not a fan kasi at tinutulugan lang niya movies nun, for me super love ko harry potter. He supports me naman, but not for our wedding.

hi mga sis! ang naisip naman namen ni h2b is filipiniana theme din, kaso parang hindi match sa motiff namen na black and yellow, kase mostly ng filipiniana is brown color nakikita ko..nagiisip pa kame pano mai-incorporate yun motiff sa theme..nagsesearch nga din ako sa pinterest and google images, hehe..

any suggestions po? tia!

i think you can use your black and yellow as highlight colors...i think it will still work well especially the yellow - think of "three stars and a sun" ^_^
it's really just in choosing pieces that will work well in these colors but still evoke the filipiniana feeling. the thread starter had a filipiniana theme in mind, i think you can backread to the first couple of pages for the suggestions ^_^

theme: Shabby Chic
Motif: Pastel color

Ang priority talaga namin is yung color. Sumunod nalang yung theme na shabby chic kasi most of pastel color wedding eh ganun yung theme. Super dali rin saken gawin yung styling

kateguerzon08, what shades of black and yellow are you using? And did you want a more modern feel, or more classic?

For a modern look -- I'd use strong colours (so black and a bold yellow) and add a third shade to the palette, maybe soft grey or white, and go for a graphic look. Capiz candleholders are really filipiniana but quite modern/geometric looking, and also come in lots of colours.

Maybe do woven rectangular baskets (abaca or sinamay) for your centerpieces; yellow lilies or spider mums could evoke stars.

If you want a more classically filipiniana theme, then I'd use a mix of softer yellows and a natural accent colour like taupe or champagne. For styling, maybe black lace runners and light-coloured wood or bamboo vases for your flowers, and lots of sampaguita.

sis sevenstars, mas feel ko yun modern look, gusto ko din kase yun combination ng black and strong yellow (hindi naman siguro masakit sa mata yun noh)..and maybe white na din yun pwede ko pang i-add as third shade, pero konti lang..
as for the touch of filipiniana, naiisip ko nga din sa centerpieces and sa backdrop namen sila ilalagay..tingin-tingin na din ako sa google and pinterest, hihi..i'll take note of your suggestions, salamat sis!

Shabby chic, parang di papayag si h2b, masyado na din talagang girly, pero gusto ko. Hahah!

Gusto ko rin ng Harry Potter theme as a super fan of the books pero most likely ayaw ni h2b and baka mag insist yan na we incorporate dota, diablo 3 and warcraft elements since he's into that...so ayun no thanks hehe. But i'll probably think of adding butterbeer to our drinks list. Parang cute lang siya with the mason jars since we'll be having rustic with touches of football elements theme. and football since its the only thing we have in common.

sis peachlipstick maybe you can add other HP elements aside from your centerpiece. like signs using qoutes from HP--"Always" and have flasks as your flower vases to be stacked on top of books.

Iba pala talaga motif sa theme! Dati motif lang iniintindi ng mga kinakasal hehe!,wala pa kami malinaw na theme, motif colors pa lang

sis dcpdane, nung nag-iisip kami ng theme for our prenup shoot, i thought of mala-game of thrones kasi isa yun sa mga gusto namin dalawa. kaso bigla kong naisip kung anong nangyayari sa mga wedding nila (red and purple wedding), so hindi nalang. hahaha!

^ hahaha! very true! but i have a high school classmate who is a superfan and he had a got-inspired wedding. the opening to his sde was even shot in the same style as the opening credits to game of thrones. their colors were lannister red. here's their video - https://vimeo.com/49306830
