What is your theme?

Hi sisses! I checked out pinterest for wedding themes and table setups. Daming magaganda however, nagugulahan ako sa difference ng mga theme na to, parang magkakamukha lang sila? Ano difference nila?
- dreamy romantic
- romatic glam
- modern fairytale
Right now, im eyeing for mint and blush colors but i dont like rustic themes. I like chandeliers, crystals, glasses, but light airy feeling, more of pale colors. Any inputs mga sis?

i don't really think there's much of a difference among these 3 themes; they all have the same overall feel soft and genteel - brings to mind lace and pearls and pastel colors...maybe you can have a certain motif that is representative of you and your groom...i saw a wedding where their motif was a bike because they both love to bike and cycling is one of their main bonding activities...so they had a white bike as the main motif...they displayed a white bike as the center of attraction in their couple's backdrop...their stationery (invitations, menu cards, thank you cards, etc.) featured a drawing of a bike on it...they complemented the white bike with pastel colored flower arrangements

im in love with classic romantic themed weddings! whenever i see them, especially the expensive looking ones, sobrang goosebumps ako talaga kasi that's how i imagined weddings should look like. pero parang hindi kasi bagay sa venue namin (blue leaf) unless we spend on styling.

our motif is teal gray and coral. any suggestions on bagay na theme for these colors?

i guess reasonable na un sa venue nyo. i asked a stylist 10k for semi drapes then 15k sa full ceiling.. sa venue namin i asked din how much, hindi pa nagrereply LoL

ours is sparkling rustic in dusty rose, champagne, and gold...our main motif are leaves because my engagement ring features leaves so i have a laser-cut wooden leaf on my bouquet handle instead of a brooch, we'll have leaf brooches for the secondary sponsors, leaf designs on our arrhae and ring boxes, etc. our "stage" backdrop will also have ribbons with gold painted leaves...then there will lots of lights and mason jars on the tables as well as chalkboard signs with our (mostly mine) favorite love quotes from books :-)

Same tayong Blue Leaf sis bzbee.. U said hindi bagay sa venue? U mean blue leaf doesnt look expensive? Hehe actually masyadong bare nga sya for me, im now thinking if i should get a stylist to make the place look elegant or kung kaya na ba ni kbyc ideliver yung look na gusto ko. Although wala pa kong exact theme na maisip.

^hi sis lyr3hs! no, that's not what i meant. yung mga nakikita ko kasing classic romantic mostly sa mga hotels since elegant na yung existing decors like drapes, chandeliers and konting add-ons na lang for details. pag sa blue leaf, since bare siya, mapapamahal talaga sa styling. like the one i saw was super ganda talaga but they spent 300k kay jo claravall to achieve the classic romantic look kasi bare din yung venue like blue leaf. wala naman kaming budget na ganun

lyr3hs, I've been to a few weddings/events at Blue Leaf and I think if you're going for an elegant, glamorous look, styling definitely helps -- the architecture is quite modern kasi. It sounds like you want a very luxe, classic romantic feel. Maybe do full ceiling drapes and really lush floral centerpieces? I also think furniture and linens can make a huge impact, so maybe go for a different chair -- I think the Windsor and Chloe chairs from Windsor and Tiffany are really nice if you're going for glam.

^ sisses, both of you got a point. But we dont have an extra budget for a stylist. If we do, then we would have opt for a hotel reception. Maybe we will depend on our caterer na lang plus full ceiling drapes. Right now Im looking at mint and blush mottif, bagay pa rin kaya to for a romantic theme? Or panggarden lang sya? Should I change the colors that is more suitable for an indoor venue?

^ mint and blush can be used for a romantic theme...it's really on the execution...maybe you can add silver as a highlight color - like a lining for your mint and blush decors...it will give a subtle elegance to the decorations like have silver vases filled with lush flower arrangements; combine crystals in mint and blush to big silver beads and drape them around the vases; have a backdrop that is striped mint and blush and add a silver lining in between the stripes :-)

I agree with 120515, it's in the execution naman. That said, I think blush and mint can easily swing towards a rustic/shabby chic look, and I get the feeling that's not what you're after?

Maybe stick to the softest/palest versions of those colours (particularly the mint), and introduce a metallic shade into the palette -- silver as 120515 suggested would be pretty, or champagne if you'd like something warmer -- to keep it on the glamorous side. I'd also stay away from wood/bottles/twine and go for classic ceramic/metallic containers for the centerpieces.

My theme is Travel, venue is indoor, and I'm not hiring an event stylist

We are still thinking about a good theme.
H2b and I decided the wedding colors are navy blue, blush pink, champagne, pale pink

Right now I have the following themes in mind:

1. Harry Potter - incorporate lang sa centerpiece (Hogwarts lessons and representations), sa buttonniere, accessories (?)

2. Disney - this one sounds fun kasi. I can dress the FG as a disney Princess (e.g. Snow White carrying a basket of red apples). Tapos the centerpieces will be accents from the different fairy tales like one table will have a single rose in a glass, teapot and a small clock (Beauty and the Beast), another table can be about Cinderella, may glass slippers, etc..

3. Opera  - I am a big fan of the movie Phantom of the opera kasi so I was thinking of placing an Opera mask and other accents related sa movie

4. All about us - I am giving this one a lot of thought. Kasi iniisip ko if magiging masyado magulo if iba-iba ang centerpiece I am thinking of incorporating our love of movies, series, videogames and books into the theme. Like one table will have a movie related centerpiece, another all about books, etc.

Ang daming choices, nakakalito.

What will you suggest mga sis?

Classic theme lang kami na romantic. Haha. I'm kinda dumbfounded when people ask us anong theme ng kasal..lagi kaming, walang theme. Classic lang. And then we realized. MEH. Classic nga ang theme. haha

^'i totally agree. Ako din when asked ano theme nyo? Wala pa. Pero i want a romantic feel. Dreamy romantic yung sakin pero i guess pasok nga sya sa classic romantic lang. It looks expensive and timeless kasi. Ang sarap sa mata. The thing is, parang wala man lang tungkol samin. Ang sinabi komna lang sa stylistv i want a corner na tungkol samin dalawa ni fiance. Memory lane or something like that. Me too, i love chandeliers and calligraphy ang mga gusto ko meron sa reception.

^ krysia27, same here! Going for a classic, romantic look -- lots of votive candles, flowers and glass. I don't want to think of anything too specific anymore! But it's hard nga to explain when people ask (for some odd reason...)
