Mga sis, sabi nyo may MF na din sa COL. Why would you opt for MF if pwede ka naman bumili ng stocks on your own? Enlighten me pls. Thank you!

They are different investment modules catering to different needs. Depende sa tao.

I will get both pero MF ako magsimula kasi mas madami pa aralin sa stocks.

^^May mga fund managers ang MF and supposedly mas alam nila ang ins and outs ng stock market, so dapat mas malaki ang gains mo kesa 'yung newbie ka pa lang sa stock trading kung saan ang taas ng risk. 'Yan ang pagkakaalam ko and newbie pa lang ako both sa MF and direct stock trading

Based sa mga nabasa ko, mas recommended sa newbies ang MF kasi hindi lang naman din equities ang inooffer dito, marami pang iba so depende rin sa risk appetite mo. For me kasi, hindi ko matutukan full-time ang trading so may MF ako sa PhilEquity. But at the same time gusto ko rin matutunan ang direct trading sa stock market so meron akong account sa COL.

^It depends on so many factors

Stock trading is better vs investing IF you have technical and fundamental knowledge as well as the time to monitor your stocks.

Stock investing is better than trading IF you don't have the knowledge/ time to study fundamental and technical analysis as well as if you don't have the time to monitor your stocks the whole day.

^MF siguro if you dont have the time para pag aralan ang trend ng stocks, and companies na you are targeting to buy. Kasi sa MF, part of your fund goes to the fund managers, sila ang pipili which stocks to buy in behalf of yourself.

regarding if better ang stock investing vs trading... it depends on your knowledge and risk appetite. when you say stock investing.. siguro you are referring to long term investing? compared to trading? kasi long term investing... you buy a couple of stocks, paunti unti... you sell when it reaches its Fair Value... then buy a different stock, and continues on and on and on... sa trading... kailangan aral mo yung mga fundamental/tech analysis... at dapat nakatutok ka... kasi when the stock price goes down, hoard ka ng madami... when it goes up.. sell agad.. something like that... so you cant say which is better per se.

Sold my MF in FAMI. Waiting for Fund Supermarket in COL to buy for PhilEquity para nasa isang platform na lang. I was wondering whats the pros and cons if you buy directly in PhilEquity against buying in COL.

^^me too. madali lang pala mag pull out sa FAMI. Derecho na sa bank account kahit hindi metrobank.nag inquire ako sa COL re MF offerring. D sila makabigay date so I decided na lang to send my application form sa PEMI kanina. Sayang ang time. More than 1 mo na din ng kakaantay

We have some extra funds and I'm not sure where to put it. Is it better to wait for COL to start with their Philequity fund or to just go directly to Philequity? Or invest half in philequity and then save the half for when COL finally starts their PhilEquity fund?
