All About Pre-dinner Cocktails

hi sis, parang enough naman yung cocktails na 6-7pm pero or atleast 7:30 siguro. as long as may ginagawa ang mga guest mo and siempre kumakain ng food cocktails... hindi sila mabobored maghintay. ang importante busy din sila. sakin ang ginawa ay sinerve yung cocktails plus nag pa add rin ako ng mga chips pa kase one round lang ang included sa package namin, plsu busy sila with our photobooth habang busy rin kami sa labas taking some pictures and shots para sa SDE.

kino-consider ko sya sis.. pati yung sushi bar. (If I have extra budget) pero the doughnuts shouldn't cost that much siguro?
I have 3 cocktail food from kbyc, free candy buffet from chef kiko, tea and coffee by kbyc plus starbucks booth.. so if I add another table for donuts baka wala ng space.. pwedeng idagdag ko na lang din sa candy buffet

^ i see. the rate of the booth kasi that i saw was 12k for 20 dozens and im wondering if we can save more if we dont get the booth and just buy the boxes ourselves. pero you're right, may constraint din sa space.

hi, i am a wedding coordinator and i higly suggest that you provide enough food for cocktails. wag masyado mag-isip na baka mabusog sila because tayong mga pinoy mahilig naman sa mga pica2pica or kukutin na food. i vividly remember all my weddings na may good amount of activities plus great cocktail food din, walang nagtanong kahit isa na di pa ba kakain or di pa ba magsastart. lahat nagenjoy at halos ayaw pa magsiupo kasi nakikipagkwnetuhan habang kumakain.

some weddings ive handled may margarush, flipbooks plus 6 na klase ng food carts; mixed balls like fish ball, squid, kikiam plus sago gulaman; starbucks plus sangkatutak na pringles and other stuff na love din ng mag-asawa; milk tea booth; mini empanadas, etc.

basta lahat yan patok. ang reality ng appetizers nang mga caterers, hindi naman unli yan. or madame man ang servings, hindi naman matutuwa ang guests na panay canape lang ang kakainin or panay nachos. maganda din ang iba2. if you plan mga sweets buffet, haluan nyo na din savory items para hindi naman panay matamis lang

Hahaahha,,  akala ko ako lang ang nakaisip mag lagay ng fishball sa wedding namin   One of our friends kasi got married sa Fernbrook and she had a Starbucks booth as an extra.  And totoo, dapat talaga may activities or dapat madaming gagawin kasi ang boring. Parang 2 hours kami na naghihintay na wala.  Anyways, habang nakapila kami dun sa Starbucks booth nila, naisip namin, sa amin eh hindi sosyal, kaya naisip namin, additional to the cocktails that we are serving, eh ang iseserve namin is fishball, and squid ball. 

I had even asked KbyC for this, kaso they told us na they don't cook daw on the spot where they serve it.  They will have to cook it sa kitchen pa.  hehe.. So we will have to think pa how we will achieve this.    Akala ko pa man din eh unique ang idea namin.  Hindi pala hehe.

Giving this feedback as a guest who recently attended a wedding... Please do not make your cocktail hour too long! The wedding invite stated that ceremony would begin at 2 PM, then reception 6 PM. On the actual day, reception program started at 8 PM! The hotel wasn't too far naman from the church, in fact it was only 10-15 minutes away and there was no traffic even. They did serve cocktails (chips and a few nuts) but honestly, naloka kami sa kakahintay.

j.adore, normally how long is the post-ceremony photo session? I allotted about an hour after our ceremony for this (photo taking, makeup retouch, eating a light snack/rehydrating for my groom and I) pero kulang ba? I was thinking of scheduling my cocktail hour (haha singular) from 5-6pm and have the reception start at 6-6:15pm.

Another thought with regards to cocktails: don't forget to serve your guests water!!! Haha. I've been to weddings where there was a lot of yummy cocktail food but no water/drinks were served.

Do you have 1 venue for ceremony and reception? Kaya siya if there's no traffic factor plus a good photographer doesn't need much time to get good shots in several backgrounds hehe.

We were able to travel, eat, and complete our pictorial at the reception venue in just an hour. That was the same time guests were enjoying cocktail hour

Yes, same venue for my ceremony and reception. Good to know na kaya in 1 hour! That way guests can still enjoy Thanks sis.

That's reassuring, j.adore! I was a little worried about my timeline din, but we're also having one venue for ceremony and reception and my photographer assured me 30-45 minutes is plenty of time for portraits -- I actually want to spend some time enjoying my cocktail hour kasi. lol.

Sis belle_v2g yung tea and coffee from K by Cunanan is this the one included in the buffet package, pumayag sila iextend to cocktails? I thought kasi pang dinner lang sya. We're thinking of getting a coffee booth din pero baka hindi na if pwede pala si K...

My fiance and I love Cello's doughnuts and want to serve them as cocktails...on top of my appetizers from the caterer and a coffee and juice bar. Ive inquired with them but no reply yet, does anyone know if they do weddings/ food carts? I know there is always Krispy Kreme but we don't like KK kasi too sweet...ano pa ba bagay sa coffee/ juice if not doughnuts? KK is not an option to us kasi we don't want to serve anything sweet prior to the dinner, they might not finish the (expensive) steak and salmon courses hehe.

^French Baker has mini fruit tarts that come in boxes of 6. I don't know if you can pre-order a large number, but it goes well with coffee/juice. I think they also make mini croissants. You can inquire with them siguro

I haven't tried Cello's doughnuts, but I personally like Country Style's sugar and honey glazed doughnuts. They're not that sweet, and they stay quite soft. I know they accept large orders because they serve small company affairs (meetings, and such). Just don't know if they've handled weddings and other big parties.

^Ooooh French Baker is a great idea!! Croissants and muffins! I tried looking for Country Style but can't locate their Facebook page. I liked it as a kid, i don't see it around so much nalang ngayon. On second thought, parang mas pang kiddie party ang KK / Cellos / Country Style pala kesa wedding hehe baka di umapprove si fiance. But i will try to convince him, so expensive to double the qty of K's appetizers!
