bzbee, if you and your fiance just want to get comfortable in front of the camera there's definitely no need to spend a lot -- just choose a nice (free/cheap) place and wear clothes you feel good in. :) It also doesn't have to be a long shoot. Our portrait photographer only took pictures for an hour; we got 50 edited shots and we felt like that was plenty.

We don't have a prenup photo or video shoot either. As in its my fiance's request not to have one. I had to convince him to even have an SDE because he didn't want one either. And despite having literally thousands of photos all over Europe and Asia, we really agreed to not show any of of pictures, even baby pics or growing up photos. LOL

It isn't so much the cost but more of our preferences as a couple. We are a very private couple. The travel pics we post on FB are usually only live for a few weeks, before we make them visible to only the both of us.

Funny because there have been several stylist quotations with Free photo wall setup, and all we have to do is to give our pictures. LOL pero ayaw talaga namin may photo wall or to show our sweetie couple pictures.

Perhaps if we have a prenup, it will be solely for posing practice with the photographer but never to be posted or shown at the wedding itself.

Chili1113, I totally get that. We're still deciding whether or not to have a videographer but we're definitely not having an SDE or AVP. We've got photos of us hanging up at home pero wala sa Facebook lol.

Initially, we did not want to do it. My husband and I are not fond of taking photos of ourselves... We also do not like taking our own photos and posting them in social networking sites. In fact we only posted our prenup photos on the night before the wedding.

We decided to push through with the prenup though not because it's USO or anything. or that everyone's doing it. or that it's an IN thing to do... it's just that we realized that it is something that we never get to do by ourselves. we are not the kind of couple who are comfortable with posing in front of the camera or "staging" a photoshoot. but we realized that if we will not do it, we might not want to do it ever after the wedding.

Another reason was because my husband wanted to help our photographer team to build their portfolio. When we engaged their services, we were among the first couples who booked them as an independent photographer, not just as a backup photographer. we trusted them despite having a thin portfolio/samples of their works. So having our prenup meant they would have something to show their clients. We did not hire a stylist but we styled our own clothes and props. Most of the props we used were merely sourced from our own homes. Or were bought at bargain prices. We bought clothes and shoes that we were sure to use even after the shoot. The most expensive item in our prenup shoot budget was the location my husband picked, for which we paid more than 6,000.

By the way, we only paid 11,500 for our photographer --photography services for the prenup, preps and wedding day coverage. No album though.

So you see, we did not regret having the photo shoot. But if you will decide not to have it, it would be your own decision. You should not do anything just because it is a fad or because you want to follow the bandwagon. Because if that will be the motivation of a person for doing anything then he will miss the real significance of life -- which is having the freedom to do anything within the bounds of law. no matter what other people will say, you can choose to do or not to do the usual wedding practices. :) the prenup is just a wedding add-on if i may say...it is not an essential part of the wedding. :) the more important thing to do, however, is to properly document the occasion as it will be something that you, your children and granchildren will be happy to treasure in the future.

^nice fionaapple. Nagdecide din kame to have our e-session not because "uso" sya but because parang ang fun gawin. Saka the location we've chosen is our Alma Mater, parang exciting balikan yung love story namin na nabuo sa school, ang fun ire-enact yung ligawan stage, etc:)

had our prenup photoshoot kasi we love collecting memories, and we look at it as official photos before maging Mr and Mrs.. we also need those photos kasi for Save The Date, Wedding guestbook and AVP.  Marami din naman kaming photos from travels and mga random shots, but mas ok sa prenup kasi medyo cheesy ang datingan :D

It depends on the couple if they will go for prenup or not. It turned out well naman. Then during our wedding hayun medyo comfortable na ako sa cam. At yung talagang habol namin are the memories before ikasal. capture the moment ika nga kasi once ka lang naman ikakasal.

Hi Chili, the video debate is ongoing pa rin for us. I share your view that it's just nice to have the documentation and it doesn't need to be fancy, but my fiance's adamant that we should either get someone he really likes or we shouldn't have it at all. He thinks pretty much everything is "cheesy" so medyo struggle talaga maghanap, lol.
