^Oo nga eh, nagulat ako, I was awake na pero still in bed, tapos biglang yumugyog yung bed, as in malakas. Yung katabi ko tulog pa, biglang nagising sa lakas ng yugyog ng bed and asked me whats happening. Kinakabahan ako pero I stayed calm and thought, oh well, this is Japan, the buildings must be adapted to earthquakes so higa lang ako while waiting. Though I must admit, yun na yata ang pinakamalakas na earthquake na naranasan ko in my life. haha! parang magnitude 5 yata?

I liked Tokyo. Daming pwedeng puntahan at gawin. I promised to be back. Haha. Pangit lang talaga ang weather nung punta namin. Parati kaming basa from leg down from all the walking in the rain. Lakas din makaubos ng pera sa Japan eh! Daming pwedeng bilhin.

@tinmuning, medyo mahirap maghanap ng hotel pag may kid above 6yo. Problema ko lagi yan. Napansin ko if ang price range nasa 9k pesos below mahirap (pero meron naman paisa-isa ka na makikita) makahanap. Pag medyo mahal na hotels napansin ko umaabot  ang 12yo below na free mag-stay if same bed.

Sa airbnb naman (naka-try ako nun holy wk omotensando area) naging consideration ko yun place mismo aside sa area (dapat malapit sa train station) kasi ayaw ko ng stressor na may nagrereklamo. Girl kasi anak ko at hindi cowboy kaya grrrr minsan

If pinagpala ka naman ng anak na cowboy mas mabilis ka makakahanap ng place kasi para sa akin mas maraming maayos na lugar sa japan kaysa sa hindi (kahit maliit, malinis or kahit medyo malayo ang lalakarin maganda naman yun lalakaran).

Hi stormy. Well, that's one problem---hindi cowboy ang daughter ko. If it's just me, as long as it's clean and the CR is decent, that's fine with me. Oh well, it's either get a hotel which would cost us around 30k for 5 days or jump the airbnb bandwagon.

saan pala maganda magshopping? mapupuntahan namin is gotemba outlet and shinjuku.

i am into skincare and makeup. to be specific, i wanna try yung RMK foundation, and some japanese skin care sana. i want din shiseido. mas mura ba yun dun?

Okay mag shop sa may Harajuku Takeshita Dori ng mga damit. Nakamise-dori Street sa Asakusa for souvenirs. As for Shiseido, kahit saang cosmetics store meron nun, pati mga Japanese brands na magaganda. And yes, mura Shiseido, love na love ko yung Anessa Sunscreen nila and yung hand cream din.

^^ok na yan tinmuning anong hotel yan? Mga nakikita ko na nasa 6k pesos sa hotel policies either children are not welcome or 2-3yo lang ang free, 6yo with extra bed. Yung mga hotels near disneyland ang ok kasi free ang up to 2 kids kaso ang layo naman nun.

Sa airbnb mahal rin yun napag-stayan namin 5 nights 47k (first time ko sa nagulat ako why ganun ang total e 7,400 lang nakalagay sa ad. May cleaning fee pa tapos yung airbnb fee pa) pero ang ganda ng location, ang ganda nun place mismo. Mister ko nga lang hindi masyadong gusto pag airbnb pag masyado strikto ang house rules lalo na sa garbage

Re: airbnb, diba nakalagay naman the total rate (including the cleaning fee, etc.) sa site before you book? Or they added the fee after you booked?

Yey! Visas are approved now and our flight is going to be this sunday. Can you girls suggest a good place to change our peso to yen? Yung may good rates sana. Sayang, ang taas na pala ng yen. last month mababa pa eh.

@tinmuning, pag isend kasi approval ng request to book yun unang amount na lalabas yun rate ng place * number of days, then pag ibook na, kasama na yung airbnb fee at cleaning fee (if may cleaning fee). Since first time ko gumamit ng airbnb mali yung inisip ko na imultiply ko lang sa number of days e yun na.

Medyo OT kasi may airbnb thread, dispensa mods.

Bale full bloom ng cherry blossom yan kaya lahat ng hotel sa tokyo ang mahal kasi wala na halos available na malapit sa sentro, sa yokohama area na yung medyo reasonable na presyo.

2 places pinag-stayan namin dahil pati yun apartment 5 days lang available. Naitry namin tuloy ang otemachi area. Ang layo ng lakaran lagi otemachi station pa lang ang haba na agad ng lakaran para sa akin. Iba naman e normal lang yun ganun.

Maganda sa tokyo maglakad kasi hindi ka laging magworry na may biglang hahaltak ng gamit mo, tapos puro vendo machines kaya sige lang ang lakad pag mauhaw may water atbp na drinks sa vendo.

Mga sis, any reasonably-priced hotel/apartment near Tokyo Station na na-try nyo na? good for 3 adults and 1 toddler? For 2 nights lang, if ever.

Parang hindi naman mas mura, wide selection siguro Try Tokyu Hands, madami silang pens. Meron silang branch sa Shibuya, Shinjuku at Ikebukuro

Hmmm.. meron kaya US$100/night or JPY10k per night? Ok lang sa akin AirBnB, if meron makakasuggest ng na-try na nila personally na malapit-lapit sa Tokyo Station..

Malaki na rin yang budget mo per night, sis. Marami naman actually around Tokyo Station. We pencil book a hotel near Tokyo Station pero hindi namin kinuha kasi may nakita kami mas mura, yun nga lang malayo na sa Tokyo Station pero near Ueno Station na siya. Check Hotel Grand Arc Hanzomon, yan una namin binook kasi gusto namin initially malapit sa Tokyo Station. If my memory serves me right, less than 4k per night lang sya.

Nung kami kasi ni hubby before, we stayed for a week in Tokyo and we rented a studio apartment 2 stations away from Shinjuku, accessible din sa buses. But this time kasi, since saglit lang kami (primarily to tour my mom a bit around Tokyo for 3D2N) we wanted sana yung malapit sa Tokyo Station, since dun din kami sasakay ng train papunta naman sa place ng brother ko sa Ibaraki.

i read in some forum na we have to Pay a minimum of ¥1000 / night for maid service at a Ryokan. i dont know if that includes  Fuji-Q highland resort. kasi when i checked online, i dont think yung hotel namin is Ryokan sya. so i dont know if this still applies dun sa hotel.

please correct me if i am wrong

^never ko pa narinig yan sis. i think kasama na yun sa room price. ryokans are called ryokans for the service that they give(prepare your meals and bed, etc) and they are not called maids.

^ah ganun ba sis? when i checked online kasi Ryokan daw means japanese hotel inn..
