I'm also concerned about what to wear. I usually wear short shorts pero may mga nabasa ako na hindi daw uso yun sa Japan. So I'm thinking pants na lang or skirt. But what about tops? Okay ba sleeveless (not naman spaghetti strap) considering the weather na rin?

About onsens, medyo nakakailang talaga at first.  Pero after a few minutes, wala naman na. Hindi yata pwede 'yung may saplot. Kahit nga 'yung maliit na towel, you're not supposed to dip it in the tub kaya nasa ulo lang 'yun kadalasan.

No worries, travelling_daisy!  I just got back from my 3rd trip to Japan about a week ago. Hindi yata ako talaga magsasawang magpabalik-balik. In fact, I've just confirmed my booking yesterday para sa November naman! Ganoon ako kaadik sa Japan (4th visit ko na yun in 1 year --  naging quarterly affair na namin ng Japan. LOL). This time, plano ko namang mag-Hokkaido.

Cheap lang via Cebu Pacific considering na peak season 'yun (paid 5.9k lang inclusive na of a 20kg baggage) because of the autumn foliage.

Sisses never wear anything inside the onsens kahit disposable underwear pa yan. unless communal yung onsen (both male and females) dun naka-swimsuit dapat. yes yung towel never dapat ma-dip sa tub. one time may pinay sa onsen ako nakilala buti napansin ko agad kasi nagsisigaw sa kanya yung isang matanda kasi nakapalupot yung towel sa kanya nung nasa tub siya, eh hindi niya naiintindihan yung unang warning sa kanya kaya dinedma niya, nagalit yung matanda feeling lalo. considered unhygienic kasi yun.

^regarding clothing, shorts are okay. ang hindi masyadong okay dito ay yung medyo low plunging necklines. paiklian ng shorts dito pero usually nakatakip ang dibdib kasi medyo dun ka mamanyakin ng mga lalaki. haha. okay lang sleeveless or spaghetti straps. hindi naman masyadong conservative dito just be careful sa chest part.

Problem ko na lang is Wifi. Will be flying out on 23rd. Hope it's not too late. Wifi-Hire will still accept my order if I do it by 12nn on 22nd! Have to confirm with my folks pa. Hehe. I'm so paranoid about getting lost that I really want to get one. Lol.

^about getting lost, don't worry kasi masarap mawala doon. hehe! Nagtatanong naman kami pag nawawala, they will try to answer you in English as best as they can or hand gestures. Pag nawawala, tatawa lang kami kasi may nakikita kami na unexpected tulad nang may masarap na ramen pala doon, may shopping pala sa lugar na ito, etc.

Wifi connection is a lot of help too, just get one. Mag-download ka na rin before you go ng maps, guides, etc.

^Thanks, sis! Do you think it's okay not to get a Wifi if naka-packaged tour naman? Additional savings din kasi naisip ko and I have already pre-planned the free days (complete with directions on what to take, etc.).

Waaah... I envy you, fittotravel! Fourth visit mo na sa Nov.!    Hopefully, we could also see Japan in different seasons just like what we did in Seoul.

^^Not sure about that Minnie. Hindi naman kasi kami naka-packaged tour. We had wifi pero hindi rin namin nagamit lagi when out. I didn't get the data sim from Japan, I used my roaming kaya I limited the use. Napamahal pa nga charges ko kasi nalilito kami sa Google Maps, kaya pagtatanong helped us more.

Just read these articles re free wifi in Japan. Wala pa niyan nang nandiyan ako on December.

^Nung April hindi kami nag avail ng pocket wifi kasi madami namang wifi zone dun. Tsaka kung naliligaw kami, nagtatanong lang kami sa mga Japanese, helpful naman sila

FREE WI-FI (para sa mga nagtitipid gaya ko)  :

1. JR West Stations (Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe). Libre lang. Kailangan lang magregister before your trip. Free use 'yan for 8 days.

2. Starbucks. May one hour limit per log-in. So kapag nawala kayo at nahirapan sa directions, Starbucks is always there to rescue you.

3. Yodobashi. Mga electronic shops/ malls 'to all over Japan. Located 'to usually right outside major train stations (Umeda, SHibuya, etc). You just have to get a login code from their customer relations booth to use this service. Available lang din 'to for foreign tourists. Ang maganda rito, hindi siya for exclusive use inside Yodobashi. Basta may masagap ka na signal from Wi2, pwede ka nang mag-connect.

4. Random strangers. Kung hindi kayo magkaintindihan ng hiningan n'yo ng direction na random passer-by, ask n'yo na lang siya to turn on his fone's wi-fi sharing button. Pakapalan na. Haha!

Yes ayaw ng mga Hapon ng naka shorts or dresses na maikli. Better wear leggings underneath.
