Marriage Life Start-up After Wedding
« on: February 17, 2015, 09:19:29 am »
Hi mga sis! Lahat tayo busy sa wedding preparations, how about yun pag start-up ng bahay and the likes? Ano ginawa niyo preparations? Paano yun bahay? Gamit sa bahay? Sa bahay niyo na ba kayo tumuloy after the wedding night?

Kami ni h2b, 3 months before the wedding maghahanap na ng matitirhan. Wala pa kasi kami napundar na bahay na sarili so maghahanap muna kami ma-rent then after some time tsaka kami bibili ng bahay namin. Di pa namin napag-decidan kelan kami bibili ng appliances. Gusto kasi namin after the wedding derecho na sa bahay namin.

Please shares us some tips :)

Subscribing. kami ni fiance sa condo muna titira, actually condo yun ng ate nya na wala ng nakatira for a year na. May gamit na rin dun so onti na lang bibilhin namin after the wedding. Pero ang plano namin, after 2 years bibili na kami ng house namin.

kami ni h2b no concrete plans pa talaga since sa lugar namin may mga sari-sarili na kaming bahay (compound) na my father bought for us. eh since ako gusto ko lumayo to start up on our own, i wanted to claim my mother's lot in the same city. doon ko na din gusto mag business. :)

Kami naman pansamantala titira sa bahay ng nanay ko at nanay nya by schedule hangga't wala pa kaming tutuluyan ng kami lang dalawa. Maybe before this year ends makakuha kami ng house somewhere in Cavite. I am working in MOA kaya kung Cavite kami medyo malapit lang ako. We prefer money as a gift at ngayon nakatago sya for emergency purposes.

we are both overseas so we're renting our current place.  we have also set-up our savings account and have arranged for automated transfers from our salary accounts to our savings account.  we have already talked about and decided on where we want to settle but will work on this next year.

in my opinion, in the philippines, it's really best to start making arrangements for owning your home.  there are a lot of options to do this like pag-ibig loans or bank loans.   it's best to start early so that the monthly amortization will be lower.

Long engagement kami kasi sabay ang home at wedding preps. We don't want makitira sa mga parents kahit sandali lang.

We also hired an interior designer kasali na basic tables and cabinets furnitures dun.
A few months before the wedding, we started to buy appliances and other home stuff. Majority ng appliances sa SM kasi dun yung pinaka mura na quote. Some other appliances we got from Home Depot and Western.
Best buy yung bed siguro kasi I appreciate lying down after a long day or just to rest😄 mattress was sale from Our home then bed frame MTO from Philux. Love love love👍

As in right after the wedding, hotel muna kami hehe then the rest of the nights and days were in our own home na.

Then weekends after saka lang shopping for small stuff, kitchen stuff, pillows, covers etc. We got from Rustan's, SM, Howard's, Muji, True value, Rockwell (forgot the name basta yung sa taas).

The whole process sobrang nakakapagod pero sobrang exciting din!
So happy when we get home at parang I'm at peace ☺

Kaya mga B2B at H2B, do not delay haha you're missing out on the fun!

We'll be back overseas 2 weeks after the church wedding. Since we're already residents here, we're looking at buying a house (of our own) in few years time. At the moment, we are still renting our place and I don't wanna move anywhere else (dahil toxic maglipat) until own house na lang namin ang lilipatan. :) Our place is just few blocks away from work and 5 min drive to my son's school so very convenient for us. :)

We had two options. Either take their old condo (they moved to a stand-alone house years ago and had this one rented) or find a new one na cheaper and smaller, to buy ourselves. I wanted to go for Option 2 just because i thought that was the more proper thing as adults to do, to take responsibility for setting up your new life.

But fiance didn't like the idea of shelling out for a cheaper condo without a nice resale value so he wanted us to take the first option. Ang afford lang kasi namin if ever is yung mga mid-tier condos na hindi super class or mahal. In the end, he decided on Option 1. It's fully furnished, we just need to change what we feel needs to be changed. This we will use our wedding gifts for. Its also big enough (3-br sya) for us to set-up a business there, hopefully. :)

We'll get it just 2 months before the wedding so most of the renovations we will do after the honeymoon, hehe. We'll just change the impt stuff like mattress and couch siguro then the rest we'll evaluate what to do with once we come back. Super excited to furnish and decorate!

i have my own condo while h2b is renting an apartment. after the wedding, we'll stay for a night sa hotel then sa condo ko na for good. we'll take care of his move in to my place after the wedding na siguro, it shouldn't be that hard kasi konti lang  gamit niya (you know men!). we're also saving up for a house and lot so we can have a bigger place before the baby comes.

We're scouting on a rental place as well. We'll be renting short term lang here since we're both going overseas early next year. Then ang una naming savings goal is to buy a house sa province namin.

We got a condo before getting married. Nagpagawa ng cabinets, etc, and furnished it with basics before the wedding - couch, bed & mattress, dining table, 1 tv muna, 1 set of Corelle dinnerware, 1 set of 4s na cutlery, few cooking utensils and cookware, ACs, ref, etc etc. Para functional na when we move after the wedding. Two weeks before the wedding, nagdala na kami konting clothes - and personal effects (tig-1 maleta kami). Di na kami nakapa-interior kasi super-tight sa schedule and walang makatutok that time.

Got married sa province, stayed there for a few days before and after the wedding. Then nag-Shang Mactan for the first leg of honeymoon (2nd leg was SEA trip after 2 months, 3rd leg was EU trip 4mos post-wedding). Pagbalik from Cebu, sa condo na kami umuwi from airport. Then 1st weekend pagkabalik, naghakot kami ng clothes and other stuff from our respective houses. Then dahan-dahan dagdag ng mga gamit.

We're building our house so we could move in after wedding day August 2016. Then baby na after. That's why we need to sacrifice some priorities for the wedding because it's after the day which we believe is the most important things to spend the most. I wish we could do more sa wedding after all the new trend sa wedding industry it's nice to splurge but nah I listened to my fiancé advice.. It's better to have a home than spending it only for 1 night.

we also had a long engagement... I wanted to plan our Philippine wedding 2 yrs in advance :P I'm super OC kasi plus we live in Australia

anyway, once that was done... I planned na rin kasi our budget after the wedding so na forecast ko na it'll take us 1 yr to save up for a house deposit... medyo madugo, super tipid. Back then, I was only earning not even half of my current rate pero hubby's income was good naman so we managed. We were only renting this time.

For the furniture, inipon din namin to and we only bought the necessities when we moved into our new home... the rest, yung mga nice to have, unti unti na lang binili...

we didn't have a baby until 3 yrs after getting married kasi nga we wanted to travel muna then have a house... ahh we honeymooned in Europe rin pala so wedding, honeymoon, plus house... ouch!!! In hindsight, ang galing, kaya pala makaipon kahit wala pa sa kalahati ng pay ko right now yung pay ko noon.

Basta sacrifice lang and eyes on the prize ;)

Both of us were renting flats before we got married. So when I moved to my hubby's place, I had a hard time. I had to go and look for organizers, and some of my stuff had to stay in the luggage at first. Plus complete na sya sa gamit, and so was I. I had to explain countless times why we needed to buy an extra chest of drawers as there really is not much space to put his stuffs in 😄😄😄 ( I rearranged his place and it ended that I needed to put my things in the closet and his clothes ended up outside the room).  I still have 2 big boxes coming from abroad and I have no idea where to put any of it. So next year is going to be a very big year for us. We will be having our church wedding, we'll start house hunting, need to buy a house next year as rentals are pretty expensive as well,  and we need to start on our family. 😄😄😄 We need to save up big time :)

Ito rin plan namin.. wedding muna for now, refurbish the house little by little while traveling next year (Europe honeymoon then we'll plan some other places for balance year), and then maybe after 2-3 years baby na. :) Sakit sa bulsa magtravel, but it's now or never hehe it's not the same pag may kids na!

Same here I really want to spend for the wedding pero important talaga yung after the big day. We don't want to get broke and aasa sa family. We're both LDR the aim is to be together give up my job and go back to Pinas. That's a challenge so saving up is really a big big deal now for me. I'll have my condo rented out in Pinas when I resign after the wedding then live with him sa house given by the family. we've been fortunate that we travel before a lot na so now focus na talaga sa family life after. Having the thought of hospital bills pag pregnant, baby, tuition fee etc!!! This makes me more to be think practicality sa wedding ko! Hahahaha!

Same tayo sis! LDR din kami and I'm giving up my job. Dapat, magbusiness nalang ako because I love baking. But after my recent trip sa pinas, nag heart to heart talk ako, h2b and parents ko. Sabi nga ng parents ko, even my future mother in law, na it's better for us to start our family abroad because of security and stability. So ang plan is magreresign ako before the wedding para makarelax and prepare, then mga 3 months after the wedding, my husband and I will look for a job abroad na.

For the honeymoon, instead of our initial plan of having an international trip, baka domestic nalang since eenjoyin na namin ang Pinas. Yung baby, siguro after 2 years para stable na kami by then.

Sparklingjewel, yes it's hard and different to travel with a kid, what more kids ;D

We traveled to Manila, Tokyo, Singapore and Phuket with our daughter before she turned 2. It was challenging but it was worth it naman. But, different story pag may jetlag na sa equation and if more than 8 hours ang flight. I don't want her, or me and my hubby, to suffer. So as much as I want to go back to Europe, or take her to Disneyland in LA, we cannot kasi mahirap talaga bumyahe ng ganun kalayo.

So best to get those things out of the way before having a baby. Or if willing maghintay until they turn 5 yrs old, then go :)
