for alcohol, if you're planning to serve beer bottles and not a mobile bar, mas ok kumuha sa distributors kasi mas mura and they deliver directly to the place.

^^ Sis Crammer Planner, may i suggest you ask the updated sitdown menu from your AE, baka nag-iiba iba kasi yan depending on the venue. Sometimes they exclude some dishes because they can't offer on the spot cooking in the venue. In my case kasi, we requested specifically for certain dishes like the tenderloin steak and the salmon to be cooked on the spot (sayang naman kasi ang mahal nung food, and we don't find it masarap pag hindi freshly cooked). I'm having 250 pax but I did not bother (yet) asking how many waiters there will be. Maybe pag malapit na para i know how much tips i need to give. And you're right, they rarely do sitdown daw because it's basically less food for the same cost.

My fiance's parents are the ones who talked to him about officiating our wedding because close sila, they go to pilgrimages in Israel together (luckily for us!) and support his TV masses live

sparklingjewel, how are you executing the sit-down menu? Are you offering a choice of salmon or steak in advance (like they have to choose when they RSVP), or you're serving both to all guests? We're choosing our menu kasi next month so food is on my mind hehe.

Hi sis, the best receptions kasi I've ever been to--- Makati Shang and Sofitel yun before, they served naman talaga both salmon and steak. Actually I patterned my menu dun kahit di ako hotel, haha. I can't imagine the menu na isa lang (say, steak lang) then the salmon is replaced with say, pasta. Parang bitin kasi isa lang ulam? Haha matakaw ako eh!

Naka-taste naman na din ako nung ganun (pasta instead of salmon, tas steak padin main), but the pasta was underwhelming and gummy so people didn't finish it and were just waiting for the steak. Haha. Kung di pa masarap yung steak, letdown na talaga. Haha feel ko mas safe nang may both.
Also, not everyone likes just steak kasi or just salmon. I know people, usually the men, kailangan sa kanila may steak pag reception, yung mga pa-healthy naman kakainin both but mostly will enjoy the salmon. So ok lang sakin both at least may makakain sila no matter what, and if they like both then I made them very happy.

^Same here sis. I am really pushing for a sit-down dinner vs fiance wanting a buffet. AND I agree that the only way to properly do a sit-down dinner is to serve 2 main courses- 1 seafood, 1 meat.

Since its a sit-down dinner kasi limited ang choices, so you have to have a seafood dish for guests with strict dietary no-meat requirements, and a meat dish for those who have seafood allergies- or have one of those main courses, with both a seafood and meat combined in one dish.

Sayang nga lang, because sometimes the other entree is completely untouched. Isa na dyan mom ko, she never eats red meat kahit the most expensive steak... so sayang talaga ang food minsan.
