Working in Ortigas

Hi All. I hope the sisses working in ortigas will be able to help me. I'm applying for a job in ortigas. i have never worked in manila area mainly because i'm earning above average here in our province. so i am not sure if my asking was even enough to compensate the expenses. I plan to relocate as the job i am applying for is night shift. Ayoko maubos ang itutulog ko sa travel time. Please share your ideas on how much is the average price for the following:

1. Condo/room for rent for. Preferred ko fully furnished at if ever sharing, solo pa din ang room kasi mabilis ako magising sa konting kaluskos. walking distance din sana para tipid sa time and money of course. Meron ba nito hehe
2. How much should i allocate for food each day? Bfast, lunch and dinner na. I know the prices are quite the same in our area. Gusto ko lang maconfirm kung tama computation ko. ;-)

Hi Sis! I've never worked in Ortigas exactly so what I can share is yung alam ko na expenses ng friends ko na nagrent ng unit along Boni ave.area na walking distance lang sa mrt. As far as I can remember, yung low rise bldg where my friend stayed, costs 6k a month. 2 rooms yun and as far as I can recall included na yung stove, washing machine and tv. Sila bumili ng own electric fans, few chairs and small dining table. So split into half ang rent. Ang utilities naman depende sa lakas ng gamit sa kuryente.

When I was working kasi here in Metro Manila, yung mga naging work ko ay either Mandaluyong or Makati area sis so usually sa office may concessionaire na yung food range ay around 80 to 150 pesos depende talaga or fastfood ka talaga kakain. Sa 8 years ko kasi na work dito sis nagluluto ako sa bahay at nagbabaon lang ako kasi ayoko gumastos hehe.

And I think sis yung sa breakfast, lunch and dinner as long as hindi sa office and fastfood makakamura ka talaga sa mga nearby lutong bahay stalls. Nagkataon lang na aside sa masipag ako magluto (char!) ayoko din gumastos aside sa transpo fee at yung mga biglaang gala sa office hope makakuha ka ng affordable, safe and near na house to your office and mabait na housemate/s congrats sa new job mo sis!

hi sis, I'm working here in Ortigas, actually andito ako sa office now...

mga ganito un sa mga officemates ko na nagrerent ng condo sa malapit...


-jan sa may bandang Crowne Plaza may mga condos jan na around 15K per month so kun 2 kayo, 7K pero studio ito...tapos lease agreement ang gawa usually 6 months up ang term, di ata pede un monthly ang rent kasi mag iisue ka ng checks (PDC) para dun sa lease mo, semi furnished usually ang mga studio dito...may bed, stove at ref...

-as for the food, meron mga ministop, family mart saka madalas dumadayo din un ka-team ko bandang St. Francis kasi may mga karinderya sa gilid nun...saka meron sa Emerald Ave. na parang food court style ang name nya Lasapin so mejo mura ang food dun mga 70 pesos per meal without drinks..

ito sa mga condos ito na walking distance from Ortigas CBD..


But if you prefer ng mejo magjeep ng konti, sa Pasig may mga for rent usually ang rent ng mga kakilala ko from 6K to 15K depende sa number of rooms ng house..un nga lang magjijeep ka isang sakay...or pwede din around san juan, mas mahal ng konti ang rent...pero one ride away lang din...

actually, wala pa naman ako job offer but nagcocompute pa lang kasi ako hehe. gusto ko din talaga fully furnished na at siempre AC kasi night shift yun apply ko. mas maganda din talaga walking distance lang.. wala naman prob sa akin magcarinderia kasi nakakasawa din ang araw araw fast food. saka siempre para tipid din. hindi din kasi ako marunong magluto haha.. thanks sana matawagan ako...
