My fiance and I are hoping na to have a baby a year after we get married, so as early as now we're setting aside some money for the expected spend for the baby (and this is on top of the wedding budget so homayged lang minsan lol) Sorry Type A talaga ako, plus since my fiance and I are both managers may PnL  outlook na kami for the next 3 years haha

I agree with simang's friend na dapat may spare talaga for the business-as-usual expenses post-wedding, but I just excuse my irrationality whenever I'm looking for suppliers. Ayoko naman na chaka kasal ko and it's the one and only time I'm gonna go through with it haha

okay lang enjoyin ang honeymoon stage but keep in mind din na high risk na ang girls once they reach the mid 30s na and wala pang baby.

We wanted to have another child (hopefully girl this time) since our son is turning 6 na rin.  And that's it. Enough na yung 2 hehe!

Hi sis, there are some brides here who were able to pull of a 150k and below wedding.  It just depends on who your suppliers are.  And where you're going to have your wedding.   It's feasible I think, it depends on who your non negotiable suppliers are and what are your needs and wants. 

If your wants are like a Kby C caterer, that would be kind of difficult, but if you're flexible with your suppliers then you may be able to pull through say give or takre a couple of thousands pesos more, it may depend on the inflation rate by next year. But do canvass.  There are some suppliers that are cheaper than normal but with good qualities naman.  There is a thread here  for 150k weddings.  You may get some ideas and some suppliers there.   

Just a tip, December is peak time for wedding suppliers, you may need to start booking them now, as they may increase their rate for next year.  Good luck in your preps

yup, sis belle_v2g, she's pretty cool! they really want grandkids already because right now they just borrow my uncles'/aunts' grandchildren and they are already at that age when they want to have grandchildren to spoil.

Sad diba, sis ece. May mga ganun nga. I don't like comparing weddings. For me kase even the simplest one is beautiful. Ok lang na magandahan sa sariling wedding but not to the point na, inaalipusta yung kasal ng iba. That is so rude.

I agree with you sis! And same with sa iba na kung maka alipusta ng supplier ng ganun ganon na lang kahit di pa naman nakakatrabaho yung supplier na yun. I mean, it's okay naman to give your opinion kung di mo masyadong feel yung supplier pero to the point na ididiscourage mo yung iba to book that supplier is I think di tama. May kanya kanya naman tayong taste pero pwede namang sabihin yung point of view mo in a nice manner.

Sis marchbridetobe, ganyan sila sa ibang forum. May rule sila about giving feedbacks sa suppliers para maging fair, lalo na when it comes to second hand information. I agree, ok to give honest opinions pero no to discouraging others. Kase if you are the on the business owner's shoe, unfair nga naman.

^oo sis, mas nakakatuwa nga actually magbasa dun sa w@w kasi hindi nagpapasiklaban at nagpapabonggahan ang mga brides dun at kung may nagrarant man eh yung mga nakaexperience na talaga ng negative dun sa supplier na yun. Di lang ako active dun kasi ang weird na nagkacrash yung yahoo groups dito sa pc ko sa office. Sa phone lang gamit ko pag nagbabasa ako ng mga threads dun, parang nandun ka din yata sis eh noh?

Correct ka diyan sis. Madaming factor ang "budget". Basta spend according to our means and make sure the bank isn't broke on Day 1 of being Mr & Mrs.

most of our suppliers are friends or friend of a friend kaya super discounted, nasa 350 kami for 200pax, all in all!!

The budget I set was 350K (150 pax). That includes na the 50k na gift ng parents ko for PV and mobile bar na gift ng sister ko... so it means less than 350K ang actual spend namin.

We have booked all suppliers already, we've exceeded 1k+ sa budget. Yipeee! I am expecting more gastos pa, pero minor na lang like food for the family/ento and suppliers on the wedding day and other miscellaneous expenses. We did not scrimp on the food and party (reception) venue, all out din kami sa booze. Bec it is what our guests will truly remember. They won't remember the bridal car, or how the flowers at the church looked like, or how our invitation looked like, things like these NOT worth it to splurge on, really. So everything else, I tried na tipid as much as possible, w/o sacrificing the quality of course. I wrote articles on my blog on how a wedding can still be awesome without being expensive, and how Philippine weddings can really go over the top nowadays. If we come to think of it, it's really crazy

Just want to share that today is a very good day for my wedding budget!!! I had my 1st meeting with my reception venue earlier and received the ff good news:

1. 15k electrical fees were no longer being charged to clients.
2. That all the prices indicated are VAT inclusive, with no service charge!!!

All this time Ive been adding 12% VAT + 10% Service Charge to my catering charges, including cocktail menu and all the drinks!! And now that Ive adjusted it to the proper cost per head, my overall budget went down by a whopping 100k for 200 guests. Now we won't be worried about going over our intended 200 pax anymore. YAY!!!!

Best of all I can even keep the venue till 2, 3 or even 4 AM. The rate is 15k per hour over initial 4 hours. BUT the 15k per hour is CONSUMABLE in food and drinks, and so far it can be accommodated by the package we are choosing anyway!!! We do have to pay though 3k per hour for the overtime of the staff. But I think that is a very small fee to pay compared to other places where we will have to pay so much more. =)

For a while I was regretting my venue but not I am glad I chose it! =)

Chili1113 - I can totally relate to the feeling of relief about actual costs being less than projected! Our reception venue waived the 10% service charge for us and gave us their beverage package for free! That's such a load off our shoulders so the fiance and I are very happy
