Sis gumdrops, before setting a budget, i think it would be better to inquire about the rates of your non negotiables. Then set your budget after. Before booking any supplier kasi, we already set a budget and we thought it was already enough. So we were kind of in shock when our running budget is 50% higher than out initial one.

Definitely agree with the mix and match of entry level (parang car😉), mid range and high end suppliers. My suppliers are a mix of all these three.

I don't know na how much top suppliers cost these days but how much do you think the wedding budget should be for 150 pax if you were to have an engrandeng wedding with all the bells and whistles and the top suppliers? Hubby was asking me and I just rattled on, I dunno, 2M? 2.5M? 3M? ???

Hi gumdrops26, oh I'm sorry if I misunderstood 😊,  it's just that when you rattled off the numbers to your hubby like you did say 2M, 2.5, 3M,  it also made me assume that you've got and that you are willing to spend as much money without breaking the bank.  Because like what you did say, you want all the fine trappings with all the bells and the whistles  thus the reason I told you that the budget really depends on how much you are willing to spend. Most of the brides here who are really budget savy, set a budget with a 10%margin less and more. Then they work on their suppliers and put their needs vs.their wants.  Some brides with the money to spare put their non negotiable suppliers first, then ante up the budget. Suppliers wise, there are lots of high end that are good, some are hoping to be good, thus that's why we have suggested to do lots of research, and via researching, I meant inquiring with them. Hope this helps. 😊

Thank you all so much, ladies! I started with 2M because, factoring in inflation since getting married, I thought that's the lowest one can go if you were to have the "top" suppliers :o

I'll look into it further a bit closer to the date, for sure.

Enjoy your preps girls :)

Ours was originally 1.5m but then, naging 1.8m for 200pax. Mostly high end suppliers but I've got some mid and low end who delivered well. :) Yung high end pa nga ata ang medyo problem ko nung una :D

So happy though, because even if its a mixture of high, mid and low end, we still got featured in some wedding blogs :) We were recently featured in Bridal Pod and makes me want to get married again ahaha :D And most importantly, guests were really in awe and would still talk about our wedding even if it was months ago pa hehe

Hi sunset beach, care to share your wedding feature?

I'm just happy to say that from the very beginning i told my fiancé xx amount is needed for the wedding. we have almost booked all of our suppliers and I am still under budget. if it will balloon, siguro max na un 3%.

I want to spend more on my 1 month honeymoon!

Mejo same tayo msdianne and sunsetbeach :) We're at 1.87M as of today factoring in some styling upgrades. Wala pang prenup photos (which we might be tempted to do with the last 100k hehe).

I would say kahit na mahal magpakasal we are lucky to be getting married already. It only gets more and more expensive every year (my venue increased +70k for 2016 weddings, my videographer increased +50% on their prenup rate and so on). My brother had Jason M, Dino Lara, Madge and Jody Liwanag at his wedding and i am SURE his budget was waaayy lower than mine. Gulat nga sya bakit hindi ko daw kinuha si Jason hahaha god if he only knew how expensive he already is...

when i joined this thread, our original budget was 250-300k for a tagaytay wedding with 100 guests. It went on to be 350k and now it's over 500k!!! crazy. More than half a million for a one-day event. Then there's the house, the car and the lifestyle we want to build together. We had our budget ballooned to this much kasi we learned na one of our friends will get married a month after us and they got the same exact suppliers we have so far. i was irate for a while kasi i thought joke lang yung comment nila na they will "copy-paste" our list, when they have like 800k budget. now, h2b and i want to get a better-looking venue para di kami magmukhang "kawawa" as we have a number of same guests. it's sad na nagmukha syang "contest" but if we don't give ourselves this kind of splurging, we might forever remember our wedding to be uhm.. something that we could have done better. i don't know if i'm making sense anymore. lol. just letting some frustrations out the window. there's no monopoly in getting the same suppliers, i understand, as it is their right as well. but i just felt like all my deep research efforts were trivialized. sana they hired me to be their coordinator na lang if they will just copy literally everything, even the motif. lol. sana nakadiscount pa ako sa ibang suppliers ko. lol again. one month lang pagitan ng wedding namin. oh well... at the end of the day, we will still be good friends. siguro this is just part of the so-called bridezilla moments, which too, shall pass.

^ Sis dcpane, sorry ah pero grabe naman friend mo. Wala ba siyang time magresearch. Pati motif pareho kayo? Sana yun man lang iniba niya diba? Daming pwede naman jan.

We planned for a 200k bugdet for 80 guests pero nagballoon din to almost 300k. Meron kaseng expenses na naoverlook like crew meal, hotel accommodation (kala namin sasagutin ng parents at siblings namin ang accommodation, di pala  :-[). Di rin namin nasama yung prenup budget at meetings with suppliers.

ahaha thank you sis!!! kami nga yan ahaha. thank you! :) im sure lahat tayo okay at magiging okay ang wedding! sa sipag natin magresearch ahaha

Hi sis diane and papemelroti

my wedding suppliers are listed dun sa blog :) and all those listed there are highly recommended so yung hindi nakalista i won't recommend ahaha i'll make my separate review for those na hindi ko masyado gusto sa suppliers review

the big chunk of our budget went to our non negotiable: Sofitel (witness ng love story namin haha very significant for us talaga this hotel so di na kami nag check ng ibang reception), Photog: Pat Dy and Videog: Mayad. :) Diyan pa lang 1m na.

Hi sis sparklingjewel

i admire you sobra tiyaga mo to research for your stylist ahaha! yan naman ang di ko pinakealaman during planning haha. kaya kung ano anong flower lang okay na sa reception ahaha. buti na lang the guests didn't notice ahaha. medyo oldies na kasi guests namin so gusto lang nila makatakeout ng flowers, masaya na sila dun haha.

and yes we are all lucky kasi we got married and/or getting married na. in time, hindi na natin afford ang mga good suppliers and surely yung mid range magiging high range narin haha. i can't imagine how our future children will prepare for their wedding! (yes iniisip ko na to kasi my first baby is a boy ahahaha)

sis sakura, actually mas close yung grooms namin sa isa't isa. nauna kami maengaged and when h2b learned na engaged na rin sila, he shared our stories sa supplier hunting. he shared the names of our suppliers and the other groom joked na gagayahin daw nila. we forgot about it until only recently, when the groom told my h2b na booked na rin daw sila. they laughed about it and the groom told their group of friends na "copy-paste" nga daw sila sa amin. i was not there when they talked about it. i asked h2b what was the reaction in the room, tawanan lang daw lahat so i thought ako lang ang OA sa pagka-hurt. sabi ni h2b ko wala naman daw kami karapatan pigilan yung ibang couple to get the same set of suppliers kung yun din ang gusto nila. so there, i felt trivialized yung "hurt" ko. but h2b eventually understood my ground at narealize din nya na hindi nga okay. kaso wala na daw syang chance to make a counter joke about it dahil hindi na napag-usapan ulit. awkward naman daw out of the blue i-joke na "o wag naman tayo pareho sa outfit supplier ha!". anyway... move on.

^ for the record we have the same church, caterer, photo, video, and motif color. we almost had the same sapphire-diamond e-ring kung hindi lang namahalan yung other groom. one month pagitan ng wedding namin and mauuna kami. oh well... i just can't comprehend why some people can't research for themselves, especially na matagal pa naman wedding nila at mas marami silang budget. cmon, it's a once in a lifetime event, mag exert naman ng kanya-kanyang research efforts... i just felt betrayed and used. pero sige na lang... kasal nila yun e. after naman ng kasal, friends pa rin dapat...

oh wow, thanks for the messages sisses haha!  :-* i don't mind sharing it here kasi i doubt na they are even aware of this forum/site. i doubt if they even research at all. hehe! but if they do read this in the future, it's fine. it's fate's way to tap them of my hurt feelings. lol <3

i know fiance only meant well when he shared our list of suppliers. di nya rin siguro akalain literal na gagawin nung friend namin yung jinoke nyang "copy-paste". sabi ko kay fiance, although harsh siguro ito for some and i might get judged, wag na nya i-share other future suppliers namin or mga minamatahan namin. para kung magkapareho man, alam kong tadhana na yun at hindi dahil sa deliberate na copying. lels. same kami ng ibang guests at same church na one month apart, siguro naman yun palang quota na sila. di ko lang kinaya na muntikan pa rin pala gayahin yung e-ring idea ng fiance ko. he worked hard on the design din kasi. last week ko lang nalaman na muntikan din pala gayahin...

sis belle, i feel you! this year din ikakasal brother ko (october this year sila, november next year ako). nung simula, medyo nosy ako sa pagtanong kung saan sila, ano caterer nila etc. naeexcite kasi ako for him. nauna kami naengaged pero mas mauuna ikasal brother ko. so medyo nakatodo lurk na ako dito sa GT kaya dami ko ring sinasuggest sa kanila. kumbaga "well read" na ako bago sila maging engaged. lol! but then i stopped kasi feeling ko baka mairita yung future SIL ko. iba taste nya, iba taste ko. she's into DIY and i'm not. rustic bet nya, ako hindi. i'm actually proud of her DIYs sa FB, but di kasi kami masyadong close so di ko masyado nachichikka sa preps. I'm excited makita how those pieces will go together come reception time. They were supposed to have a tagaytay wedding din nung nalaman nila caleruega kami. Binalak nila chapel on the hill. Kaya lalo ako naexcite magsuggest ng mga walang OOT fee suppliers. may list pa ako. lol! but they ended up choosing a church in the metro na lang.

Sis dcpdane, nakakairita naman talaga yung ganun friend. Even the motif ginaya. Haha! Nakakaloka!

I understand sis. Although yung situation mo ngayon with your brother parang ok naman. My brother got married too before we did and fresh pa sa minds ng relatives namin kung gaano kaganda ang wedding nila, pero wala akong narinig na comparison. they had a catholic wedding, samin Christian. their wedding is in the province, While ours is in manila. Even from my sis in law na super nice talaga and all out support, walang bahid ng yabang or even Inggit.
