^hi sis ako may excel checklist with diff tabs which includes total budget, breakdown ng mga expenses at yung actual vs target cost of each aspect na included sa wedding ko. Meron ding tab for guest list, ento members, mga papalabas at papasok na pera, saka may tab din na me timeline for wedding preps. Saka [textspeak!] itemized things na needed from wedding preps up to wedding day.

Regarding sa cost ng church wedding, depende yun how much willing kang ilabas na pera and from there, i list down mo [textspeak!] budget mo for each aspect that you think should be included (eg food, church, venue, p&v, etc) tapos pede ka na makahanap ng suppliers with range na sinet mo:)

^Sis, check mo yung thread na "The Simplest Wedding..." dito sa GT. Daming brides dun na ang galing magbudget. Around the same or less pa ang budget with yours.

sis pinktulips29 - kaya yan sis. kelan ba wedding mo? ilan ang guest? Saan ang target mo?

like sis yannuh, gawa ka din ng excel sheet. Guamwa din ako, para madali ng compare ng prices. Some suppliers kasi akala mo mura, pero kulang kulang pala, need mo pa kumuha ng ibang supplier for that. For example uung catering na mura walang bridal car and cake, yung isa mahal lang ng konti pero kasama na bridal car and cake.

Just my two cents. :)

Hi sis pinktulips! You can join the Wedding Suppliers Philippines group on facebook. Sooooobrang daming affordable suppliers dun. May mga all in packages din. Post ka lang dun kung anong hanap mong supplier. Let them know your budget, and for sure may mahahanap ka :)

Good luck sis! :)

tuloy ko lang yung discussion from the old thread. i was also shocked when i realized that we're getting close to 1M for the wedding expenses - that's all mid-range suppliers ha. we're just about half way through with the planning and im worried that we might have missed a few expenses pa. i have to admit, we had a lot of splurge, pero some suppliers kasi mahirap tipirin lalo na kung malaki magiging impact sa wedding.

it seems weddings in manila are really expensive, which is why i am always amazed by brides who are able to pull off their weddings within their set budgets. to be honest, i think that some suppliers just overcharge for their services.

bzbee, you're not alone. Our initial budget was 700k but we're at 1M already with mid-range suppliers and minus the usual frills such as a prenup, photobooth, mobile bar, etc. Our biggest expense is the food and the next would be the styling/flowers. I've been trying to cull the guest list as well as trying to see where we can cut down pa on expenses.

I echo 120515's thoughts -- hats off to the brides who can really work within their budget! :)

For us naman, we are a little over budget. The key really was we prioritized what we really wanted. We were both clear that the food was the priority so that ate up 1/3 of our budget. The next priorities were photos and then videos, in that order. If we had allowed ourselves to invite all our family and friends, it would have easily reached 250, but we decided to keep the wedding small and intimate, just people we want to surround us on that day.

So was the budgeting easy? Yes, I think so, if you both agree on priorities. If I had a bigger budget, of course I would want so many things (photobooth, photobook, more guests, higher end suppliers, more bongga giveaways). But since the budget is set, then I didn't have a lot of heartaches letting go of some things.

Kaya naman, mga sis. I think what I learned the most doing the preps is that we really have a healthy respect for our hard-earned money and that we have to spend wisely  :)

I can totally relate with budgeting stories/woes here. Hehe. When fiance proposed, he told my parents he had a 500k budget. I never discussed what my share would be since I only started working that time after going to grad school and passing our licensure exam.

Several months after... We now crossed the 1M line hehe. He covered all the basics, but I spent on all our splurges like photo, video, styling, etc. Our suppliers are super varied! We have super high-end, mid-range and super low-range (by low-range, I mean really discounted because these are family suppliers).

Looking back though, I realized na hirap din pala ang family suppliers. Okay we saved a lot, and I mean A LOT, by getting family suppliers who have been rendering their services to our families for years now. Pero I encountered a problem with one of them which got me really upset and slightly brokenhearted. I am okay now and will book a replacement tom.  :) Carry on, carry on.

i guess i'm lucky that i'm able to stay within my budget because my wedding will be in the province where i can get great quality suppliers at reasonable prices. my main enemy is the philippine peso exchange rate - like all overseas brides, the strengthening of the peso has also eaten up part of my budget and it's not just by a few hundreds but by a few thousands.
similar to fantabulous, we also budgeted for an intimate wedding - 150 people, including ourselves as bride and groom. we did over-invite because we have friends from abroad and we have resigned ourselves to the fact that not everyone we invited will be able to attend. we're just happy we get messages of love and support from people we've invited but who have already informed us they won't make it.

i guess hindi talaga maiiwasan mag overbudget kahit papano.. lalo na pag papalapit na ng papalapit.  talagang kelangan lang natin mag prioritize at self-discipline. not to the point naman na ireregret mo yung mga gusto mong mangyari/gawin sa wedding mo, na pagsisisihan mo bakit hindi mo ginawa... tyagaan lang talaga sa medyo affordable na supplier, na alam nating maganda ang output. not all suppliers kasi, porket mahal, one of the tops, ok na ang output. there are mid range/ budget suppliers na okay din if not too choosy tayo. :)

another advice if you want to avoid na mag-overbudget, if you have a budget range in every suppliers na don't always booked yung nasa upper ng range mo or max ng budget mo for that supplier unless its non-negotiable talaga. always choose yung nasa middle range lang ng budget mo. this way yung ma-save mo na money, you can use it sa biglaang gastos or other wants kung meron pa pero on a later part na sya ng planning.

^i think isa yan sa challenges sa budgeting, everything seems to be non-negotiable! Lol. Kaya ang tendency talaga is to overspend, with the thought na minsan lang naman ang wedding, once in a lifetime lang naman, it's supposed to be perfect and fairy tale-ish.

Anyway, as long as you have the means naman, walan problema. The problem starts when you want this and that when in fact you know very well na hindi naman afford.

^sabagay same here, its my second wedding with the same person kaya I don't have that once in a lifetime reasoning (pero I still have my own standards naman) kaya stick lang talaga ako dun. Mas madali mag-let go ng mga wants if hindi pasok sa budget.  ;D ;D ;D feeling ko nga di rin ako magiging ganun ka-disappointed kahit may mga palpak kasi doing this for the second time to share lang the moment sa family and friends na wala nung unang wedding.
