Printing Business

Im thinking to enter in a printing business...tshirt printing, personalized giveaways (mugs, caps, umbrella, keychain, pinbutton, etc), PVC id, tarpaulin. Anyone here who tried the same? can you share some tips in starting this kind of business...tia

Since my husband is knowledgable in graphic designs, eto din [textspeak!] business n pinasok namin and dahil tondo area lang kmi, accessible kmi s divisoria and recto, where we get most of our mat'ls. so no need to stock ng marami. Tip ko lang, if you are planning to start a business, dapat alam mo gawin even the smallest detail of your service or product.

hi sis  april30..thank you so much for the response. actually im not good in arts...im planning to hire my friend who knows a little of photoshop and picture editing. yong bibilhan din kasi namin ng machines they offer training and they provide video tutorials so pagtrainingin ko din sya don.

kamusta kaya ROI sa business na 'to? province kami pero not too far from manila naman.
eto kasi ang gusto ni hubby na business pero nasa abroad naman sya. ako mag-manage if ever. i'm jobless right now pero naghahanap ng work. hindi ko alam pano ko ma-manage if ever makahanap ako ng work. confused tuloy ako kung dapat magfocus muna sa business bago mag-start magwork ulit.

Estimate ko if tuloy-tuloy ang gawa, like [textspeak!] mga nasa malls, in 3 months time may ROI ka na. Kami kasi s haus lang nag-operate, then offer on-line muna and mga kakilala, kaya medyo matagal ang roi. We spent almost 50 thou for the machine we bought.

Im planning to start as home base lang din sna...but planning to find magandang pwesto. Thinking kung dito sa manila or sa illocos ako magtatayo ng shop. Sis april30 pano strategy mo sa online?

Facebook fanpage ang ginagamit kong means to post on-line. Tapos pa-like ko s mga friends ko. I also join groups ng mga printers in FB like yung Digital Heatpress Printers Philippines. Marami ka din matututunan s group na yun. Pero mas ok if mag-rent ka ng house na medyo bungad like yung tabi ng road para kita ka agad. Ganun kasi ginawa namin ngayon. Yung house kasi ng byenan ko medyo looban kaya hanap kami ng daanan ng tao and sasakyan para kita agad. Sa ngayon sunod-sunod ang mga printing projects namin. ^ganun nga hinahanap naming pwesto sis yong gilid ng kalsada or yong daanan ng mga tao para mabilis makita. siguro habang naghahanap kami ng pwesto mag home base nalang muna kami.

Printing is a very lucrative business, lalo na ngayon malapit na naman ang election. If you really want to capture major clients in the market, invest in a tarpaulin printer, though medyo may kamahalan lang talaga ang equipment.

^Plan din talaga namin sis mag-invest sa tarp plotter. Pero ipon-ipon muna, may kamahalan nga ang investment dun. Last time I went to WEBE Exhibit March last year range ng mga na-inquire-an ko is +/- 300k. As of the moment, we accept pa rin naman tarpaulin lay-out and print. Yun nga lang outsource ko yung printer. May lead-time ako sa mga clients ko. Lahat naman ng may kinalaman sa design and printing jobs, accept namin tapos outsource namin yun pagpapa-print nung mga wala kaming machine.

we're also into this kind of business... we started with P150k initial investment... lakas ng loob namin mag-loan ... after 3 yrs we're able to pay off the loan plus we opened up another shop in a Mall from the earnings of the 1st shop and gumastos kami around P400k... mahal yung pagawa ng pwesto, ang dami kasing requirement ng mall... and 29sqm din yung pwesto namin... but thanked God, after a year, bawi na namin ang investment namin... we're on our 3rd year with this second shop and masasabi ko na maganda talaga ang kita sa printing business...

right now, we already have 3 dealers with shops at Dasma, Muntinlupa and Pangasinan aside from the 2 shops we owned... with this business, we're able to purchase our own house and lot, car and investments in lot and uitf.. though I think maganda rin ang income if we sell/ advertise over the internet, we haven't done this since wala mag aasikaso.... i am just happy that we were able to provide jobs... we now have 6 employees (3 staff on each shop) and looking forward na marami pa kami matulungan as the business grows

thank you pag nagstart ka ng business,
(1) be prepared... have extra money to cover at least 3 months payment for rental... i didn't left my job... si hubby ang nagbantay ng shop... naisip ko kasi in case di pa kami kumita ng ilang months, at least i have money to support hubby kahit yung sa pang rent lang... 4k pa lang that time ang rent namin sa rfc (now its 12k)... nung first month namin, may araw na wala talaga kami benta, parang gusto ko na magback out.. si hubby ang malakas ang loob... kulang lang daw kami sa advertisement, kaya ginawa nya inikot nya ng motor yung mga subdivisions and namigay ng mga flyers
(2) dapat hands-on ka sa business... mas maganda kasi na alam mo talaga kung ano ang ino-offer mo... since we're also selling inks, pinag-aralan na rin ni hubby on his own kung pano magrepair ng printer... hehe.. so nagkaroon kami extra income for printer repairs
(3) continuously upgrade... dapat updated ka kung ano na ba ang current trend ngayon sa printing... and dapat updated ka rin sa current events.. hehe.. i remember nung dumating si Pope, lakas loob namin mag print ng more than 100 shirts about Pope visit kahit wala pang order... then we display them on our shop... ayun, ang bilis naubos.. hehe... kahit nakaalis na si Pope dami pa rin humahabol nagpapaprint...
(4) take care of your customers... kasi hindi lang sila one time pupunta sayo.... hindi lang isang beses nila kakailanganin ang service mo... yung mga simple favors na kaya mo naman ibigay at di naman masyado magastos o magcoconsume ng time, ibigay mo na... like minsan may customer kami nagpagawa ng 1000 pcs ID lace... then tumawag na di nila mapick up kasi wala driver... hubby personally delivered their orders... a good customer service wont hurt...

we sell inks, printers (CISS).. we do printing on shirts, mugs, caps, tumblers, id lace, etc... lahat halos ng pwede lagyan ng print... we also do PVC IDs.. meron din tarp printing, pero pinapasa lang namin sa ngayon kasi nag iipon pa kami pambili ng machine, mahal rin eh...

thanks sa helpful tips aishen1208. actually no idea talaga ako sa business na 'to pero si hubby ang may gusto. so itry ko din alamin. ready na un money namin pambili ng machines, plan namin aralin at ma-gamay muna printing with the help of my siblings saka kami mag-operate.

Sis, pa pm where you bought your machine and kung puede ba say sa rug? like doormats?

Hi sis elisah_b33 and sis twenty5, sa odeon sa recto madami dun  nagtitinda ng machine. Pero yung amin nabili ko sa DIY sa Binondo. Hindi kasi namin alam noon na meron sa Odeon. Separate namin binili yung heatpress and cutter plotter. Yung heatpress kasi binili namin as starter kit package, may kasamang epson L120 printer, set of pigment inks, tig 10 pcs dark and light transfer papers. 25k yung package nila, pero natawaran nmin ng I think 20k (magaling mag-haggle si hubby). Yung cutter plotter 18k naman. Ok din sila sa aftersales. Last year kami bumili, hindi ko na alam price ngayon. I don't think na ubra sa doormats yung vynil and transfer papers, dapat smooth surface. Maybe puede sa pillow cases though di pa namin na-try.
